Your podcasts and videos have inspired me to find new spots to hunt. Last week I hiked into a sweet new spot so that I could hang trail cams and I found a bunch of other trail cams and someone's permanent camp setup. They had tarps, cots, sleeping bags, food, stoves, headlamps, batteries and all sorts of stuff stored in 5 gallon tubs. I thought I was headed into a remote pocket where I would be hunting somewhat alone but no. I guess somebody else thought that a few years back and really liked the area so they moved in. Thanks for the education and showing the "how" and not the "where." I've learned a lot from Gritty so thanks!
Right on Silas! You might find out that those guys with the 5 gallon tubs don’t hunt the same season as you or that they don’t venture too far from their basecamp. But it’s probably best to keep searching for new areas where there are no totes. Find 4 or 5 new areas in the pre-season and odds are that a couple of them will pan-out during the season. So cool to hear that you’re inspired to discover new country. If you haven’t already, checkout that E-scouting class by Treeline Pursuits-podcast I did last week. So much good info in that class!
This has become my favorite series to watch - as soon as I get that notification, Im like a kid on Christmas morning. Keep them up!
I am all about these back country hunts. This is getting me so jazzed up for my wilderness Elk/Bear hunt this fall. Put these vids on before I hit the gym for a little extra motivation to get after it!

My husband is an avid hunter and I am just getting into it. Always thought my first hunt would be turkey but you guys have me so fired up with this bear hunt series that all I want to do is bear hunt!! I can’t stop talking about it!!

Man I have enjoyed this series. You never what’s gonna happen in Griz country. Tends to keep u on your toes. In 2017 I was solo hunting in a “Griz Free” area of Idaho. So when the bear woke me up at 4am I wasn’t that worried. Yelled at it & it went away. A few hours later, the black bear in my spotter suddenly became a Griz! Ran back to camp & tracks in snow around my tent told the truth. I was not hunting in a “Griz Free” area!
A few days later my dads deer was claimed by a Griz. Although we managed to reclaim it, lessons learned were valuable!
Man those griz are toads you boys have stones the size of a dump trunk , the way all of you as a team put a show together is truly outstanding , every week is how can it get better but it does , very riveting , keep it gritty

Just have to get philosophical for a moment....Always love the hunt, the grind and watching you two lay out a strategy and then implement it. The mountains are physical, yes but the mental toughness it requires can be undervalued, enjoy watching that aspect woven through your hunts. All of that and to me it still all culminates in moments like you captured when Ryan was standing on the ridge at last light ( @18:04 ) that gorgeous sunset in the high country, full packs, good company and a sense of accomplishment ....sore and tired aside, a guy can soak that moment in all the way to the core. I have physically inhaled those moments and felt recharged in ways I have never been able to replicate. #themountainskeepmesane
WoW! Been watching for a while now and never commented, but NOW is the time to tell you guys you are doing an AMAZING job showcasing the beautiful backcountry and some very respectful Hunts! As a newer hunter I love to absorb anything and everything about hunting and enjoying the experience, even if it doesnt directly related to my experiences. This year I found my first bear I wanted to go for after a slow start but couldn't get it done....you guys have definitely motivated me to keep chasing what's inside of us to be US! Please keep filming you guys just enjoying life and we will keep watching! Thanx.

A buddy wrastled a bahr (he was from West By God Virginia) when we were stationed at Ft. Bragg NC. I think this was in '85? It was at the Flaming Mug. We all bought tickets to increase his chance of getting to do it. He actually stayed on his feet. F'ing amazing. He was a wrestler before joining the Army.

Extraordinary adventure! Can’t beat the backcountry, the thrill of an adventure where you don’t know what’s over the next ridge or around the next bend in the river! The sound and warmth from the crackling fire and a hot meal that never tasted so good and a sleeping bag that never felt so comfy. To live an extraordinary life you need to go to extraordinary places with extraordinary people and seek out that adventure! Stay gritty! Can’t wait to see more!

What a great hunt!! The grizzly bear information is priceless. I feel like I could comfortably hunt in grizzly bear country, after the knowledge you and Ryan have shared. You guys could easily say “ keep your food away from camp” but instead you show how and where to keep your food away from camp.

Another great video Brian...there used to be a guy who travelled through Oregon with a bear and he'd get it drunk on beer and charge people to wrestle it...family is from Mitchell and this probably was last in the 50's. Keep them coming.
Well worth the wait! I love watching the 2 of you hunt together. We don't get to see some of the decision making process but it appears that you both are in perfect sync, which adds to your success. I don't really have a dream hunt, as beingable to hunt is a dream come true for me! But the more I watch you two, the more a hunt with you guys becomes my dream hunt! Not because I'm acting like a fan boy lol! but because you have a wealth of knowledge and a person willing to listen, learn and contribute would benefit greatly! The BEST series yet, guys! Episode 1, amazing how old that bear was. Episode 2, watching those bear run in on the call was intense.
