If I was putting on 500-1000 miles hunting every couple of months, my wife would divorce me whether I was buying new boots or not! Thanks for the great video again!!
The last few minutes with the music were some the most beautiful hunting/outdoors footage I’ve seen. Very moving. Top notch cinematography and editing/ post production here. Thanks for inspiring the next generation to love and respect all aspects of the hunt- not just the kill.
P.S. Your show on getting in shape at 45 was excellent. To all the guys (and gals) who don't think they can get back to or get in shape -- you can! I'm in my mid-60s and still doing a lot on very rugged and up and down steep stuff. Here's the key: Once you are in about the shape/health you want to be, don't stop. Ever! Be disciplined as Brian counseled. Discipline in health and exercise and in spiritual life does give you a kind of freedom, as Brian said. (I'm tempted to go further here on the "spiritual" but won't :-) ) Little by little, tiny step by step, whether in what you eat or the exercise you do, just as Brian said -- he gave excellent advice. I can hardly wait for my next hunt, rugged or easier. Thanks Gritty men!
Great video. I think with that last video you captured the melancholy feeling I always have just before a great hunt is over and I have to re-enter the real world. Kind of a lonely reluctance that not many can understand.
I took a short break from watching your videos (dont ask why, idk, didnt do it on purpose)- but coming back I love the little nuggets of info/tips that pop up every once in a while on the videos! entertainment and education blended nicely!
This last video of the series really hit home for me. It's not the killing of an animal that brings us out to the wilderness. It the simplicity of life, the adventure into the unknown and brotherhood with people like us that makes these trips memorable. Great job as always and then you for all you do.
That ending song by Caamp was a perfect choice! You guys do everything I ever wanted to do in nature, but didn't do because of a plethora of excuses. I am going to get out more from now on.
You and Ryan are creating the absolute best outdoor content available. I absolutely love everything you all are doing. Well done gentlemen, appreciate the effort and hard work. Not just in the hunting efforts but the work to capture the moments and share them with us. God bless and be safe.
Those last few minutes with the music really got me, made me just want to be in the mountains that much more than I already do. Love every single episode. Stay Gritty
That episode was the best of the series. The bear and morel dinner on the river bank was an awesome scene. Also the Gritty Broman outdid himself with the graphics, especially the “bearmuda” triangle! 😁😁
Ryan takes the term "if it's not broke, why fix it", to a whole new level with his whole outfit. If articles of clothing had a story to tell, the pants, hat, and boots would each have their own UA-cam channel. Great videos!
I love the way you guys are making these videos. They pack in, pack to and from where you shoot something and the pack out. You include most of the hunt not just the exciting parts and it is refreshing to see. You keep posting. I'll keep watching.
Boys! GRITTY! Truly amazing edit wish we had bears here in New Zealand . Love the smarts and intelligence of utilizing the whole animal . The way you show your respect to the animal and the habitat truly reflects through the lenses. My favourite series since the Tahr hunt.
Men, this is tops. I've watched all 4 episodes. Didn't start hunting 'til my 40s in W. Oregon and now in mid-60s and love being out in the forests and canyons and mountains all over in W. and E. Oregon with friends and family and all the plants and animals, wind, rain, sleet, snow, sun, clouds, and wind. You make me feel like I'm right there with you, savoring every moment of effort, pain, disappointment, joy, sweat, and more. Excellent videography. Great teaching. How great to watch you enjoying God's excellent creation, stalking, shooting, talking respectfully, and having a blast with one another! I like the tips, gear, how to get after that creature, how you mess up or could have made a better decision, keep learning and more. Keep 'em coming!
Besides the fantastic hunting footage, shooting skills (with bears coming from all directions), general campsite banter and good humor... you nailed it with the epic rapids navigation. Then take adventure to a new level. At 8:20 with Ryan doing the white water/knuckle stuff, the family goose crossing, I'm expecting to see an "NG" logo anytime onscreen. But suddenly realize this is even better. Congrats on the successful hunt, the mountain hikes or beautiful scenery notwithstanding. I wanna be there, and am with your outstanding cinematography!
Great final episode of the hunt. Pretty epic back country hunt and video series. Love seeing all the smiles and appreciation for each other and the adventures experienced together. Keep up the amazing work.
Digging the musical montage at the end of the last two videos. What amazes me, is that you are able to capture the “b-roll” while you are hunting! I get tunnel vision and need to remind myself to take in the b-roll! Thanks for sharing! Good luck this fall!
Thank you Seth. We try very hard to make the camera a seamless part of our hunt. I've been filming and making sub-par videos for a long time. Last year, things finally started to click and the camera just feels like an extension of my mind and body--I don't really think about it or plan. I just capture things that interest me. I kinda know in my head what b-roll shots I need to help me tell the story and I just film them--only takes a few minutes. Thanks for the compliments--much appreciated.
Great end to that series. Inspiring me to plan for bear hunting with my son. Both of us will have something brand new to learn together from scratch............Off the bat of a little head start from you guys! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome hunt guys! To me your stories are as much about adventure and experiencing the everything in the outdoors as they are about hunting. That's why the resonate with me so much. For me hunting is about everything that happens outside from the physical exertion to the rivers and the sights and the wildlife. Thanks for telling those stories too and not just the stories about the kill!
Thank you for the feedback Konrad. I've always felt like there's so much more to the hunt than the kill. Glad you're on the same page and you like the production.
I was just talking up this series to a friend as I made her and her wife some Bear Longazina. I'm with Ryan Bear is one of my favorite meats hands down. Thanks for the great series gents.
Another one out of the park! Series production on par w/ anything on TV but better in that you guys make it feel like I’m in camp and in on the hunt. WELL DONE!!
Once again guys awesome job! That is top notch editing on a true wilderness adventure. I look forward to every bit of content Gritty puts up. Keep’em coming!
The more I watch your video’s, the more excited and nauseous I get for me and my friends first western hunt next year. I’m ready for the struggle, pain, and sweet memories of the hunt!! Awesome hunt and keep the videos coming!!
Such a fitting wrap up to the series. Love the last song! It seems like we spend so much energy to reach our end goal while in the field. Yet those moments laughing with friends and family are the true treasures.
That was probably the best packout video ever. Getting out and reflecting on the adventure. Those are memories of a lifetime my friend. I'm looking forward to this fall hunting season, and hopefully getting my first bear. Cheers!
If I'm not out in the mountains myself, the next best thing is sitting on my couch watching you guys in the mountains doing what you do best. Great ending btw. Really speaks to how this is more than just hunting, it's a way of life.
Great as allways. Im not a hunter my self but a wanderer and explorer of the freedom to roam. I love glassing and wander beyond trials. You guys rock! Your personality mix is the best of all your films for me. The end with the campfire, team feeling, brothers, wildlife, nature, adventure.... its very strong. Stay Safe and cheers from the land of vikings - Sweden
Every episode of this series was stellar. Thanks for sharing your passions through the lens of the camera. Your stories keep us all hungry for that next backcountry adventure.
What i like about your hunts is the realism of all the hard work that goes into the hunt. Next show the planning of the hunt beginning to the end. Outstanding job
What a way to end a series with an epic ride down some white water rapids in an air canoe loaded to the hilt!! Probably wouldn’t want to hit a snag!! Good job guys. Look forward to more Gritty episodes!! Keep putting the miles on them slick Crispi boots!!!👍👍
If the last minute of this episode doesn't hit down in your soul to go out and explore, push your limits, and start living life at it's fullest I don't want to know you. Absolutely excellent thank you
I really love all of the random fact and how you feature your direction of travel, distance to camp, plotting the path you’re taking to the animal, etc. These extras, your film style, and the great content make it easy to send these films to buddy’s that either don’t hunt or are new to hunting. It’s great to hear from friends with little to no hunting experience enjoying your films. Keep up the good work!!👍
Great series. Im not a bear guy but this was great to watch every Sunday with the kids. The scene on the river , Ryan focused on navigating the rapids, then momma duck n her ducklings floating on by. Haha
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast just shows you how all these animals are built for the wild. Ryan and you just conjured it during this hunt. Thanks for the sharing the journey.
I have been liking the info messages, facts, and description of paths you took in this series. So helpful for my own hunts. Also those rafts are so sweet! I got to get one not just for hunting but just to do backpacking trips in the summer. Great film
Absolutely the finest video I ever watched it takes us on a journey that can only be made by those that have spent time in the wild , Brian I’ve watched you since you first started your podcast , it just gets better and better stay gritty Mr. Bowman!
This episode shows the simplicity of two friends, enjoying a successful hunt, but even more satisfying is forgetting all the negativity surrounding us. That's what the outdoors gives us, it's forever positive and beautiful. Thanks again Brian and Ryan
What a series! My family enjoyed every minute of the spring bear videos this season. Kids come running when they hear the opening music! Also thanks for the Sissy Stix discount! Looking forward to more videos!
Love these video's. E4 was a great wrap up of the series. Can't wait for more content. I'm also really enjoying the podcast. I harvested my first black bear this spring with my 8 year old boy in tow and my family is loving the meat. Your content helps teach us newbies and keeps me pumped for the next adventure.
Every Sunday the family and I are so pumped for GRITTY day! Now we will have to start scouting and getting out on Sundays since the series is over. Can't wait for the future series.. thanks Brian and Ryan.
Great video and a captivating series. I loved watching you guys float the river. Truly some of the best video I've seen in a while. The mountains have been calling me back since last September and this video only made those voices a little loader and more convincing. Looks like a scouting trip may be in order real soon... Thank you! Looking forward to more videos and hunts this fall. Adventure awaits!!
These first three episodes of this bear hunt are probably my favorite y’all have done. From the bears, to the hiking, the river floating, the freakin dope music, this shit makes me want to live this everyday. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Another great series to watch Mr. Call!!!! Keep up the great work. Was cool to see how you guys worked your way out of that back country with those rafts. Lol looked like some of that water got sorta iffy.
That whole last Montage of the fire, food and ear to ear grins was such a great way to end an amazing series. Can't wait to see what's in store next. I'm sure it will not disappoint.
Wow Brian, I’m blown away...again! Thank you, and not just for sharing your adventures and knowledge, but for you and your crew sharing your many creative talents in these productions! My family and I watch them again and again. It’s such a privilege.
I really wish Minnesota had a spring bear season, and based off the status of the bird feeders, I'd say we need one. Your mental and physical fitness for these hunts is inspiring. Thanks!
We have a saying back in Australia that sums up the feeling of this video entirely and it is "what are the poor people doing" Sharing experiences like that with good mates makes you rich beyond words
Can’t get enough of these hunts. Livin your best lives out there. Thanks for all the insanely hard work put in. Between the hunts, with filming, and then the editing, it’s daunting. So thank you again, for Al of this content.
Everything about this series. The education, the entertainment, the fun, and the adventures. Way to go guys you’ve done a phenomenal job of displaying what this lifestyle really is about. Thank you for sharing this with us all
I've been trying to figure out the difference between false and true morels for years, but it has been unclear until this video! Thank you SO much for sharing this information, the pocket guide, and all the other 'did you know' gems! I learn a lot of good gritty stuff from you both. Thanks for sharing!
I have said it before and will continue to do so... You guys ARE the real deal true hunters. No candy butts here. I tell all my friends about you guys. Especially the ones who go west. Looking forward to the next adventure we are lucky enough for you to include us on. Thanks guys! Your success is our gain.

Ever! Great video. I think with that last video you captured the melancholy feeling I always have just before a great hunt is over and I have to re-enter the real world. Kind of a lonely reluctance that not many can understand.
Another great series Brian, keep up the killer work! Gritty to the core.
My favorite series you guys out to date. Super inspiring and badass. River and fire scenes were amazing
Your hunts motivate me to grind harder...awesome hunt even better to share with close friends. Thanks for all you guys do!
I took a short break from watching your videos (dont ask why, idk, didnt do it on purpose)- but coming back I love the little nuggets of info/tips that pop up every once in a while on the videos! entertainment and education blended nicely!
That closing montage is fantastic. You guys scared the crap out if me with the float out, though. PFDs are not overrated.
This last video of the series really hit home for me. It's not the killing of an animal that brings us out to the wilderness. It the simplicity of life, the adventure into the unknown and brotherhood with people like us that makes these trips memorable. Great job as always and then you for all you do.
100% Thanks Jacob.
Really enjoyed this one guys, great work! As for gittin in that little raft.......I rather take my chances with the grizzlies!
This is the only hunting film I haven't scrolled through... captivating.
Great storytelling here fellas. Thanks
We need more! Not sure what my boy and I are gonna watch Sunday nights now. We love the hunts, keep them coming! More archery if possible.
Well done gents! What an amazing trip and ability to recreate and share. Thank you!
That ending song by Caamp was a perfect choice! You guys do everything I ever wanted to do in nature, but didn't do because of a plethora of excuses. I am going to get out more from now on.
Best bear series on UA-cam hands down. Can’t wait for more vids. 👍🏻👍🏻
One of the best series! Man, some unforgettable memories!!!
Such a beautiful video to watch. Your production value is so nice. Great wrap up to what looked like a fun trip!
You and Ryan are creating the absolute best outdoor content available. I absolutely love everything you all are doing. Well done gentlemen, appreciate the effort and hard work. Not just in the hunting efforts but the work to capture the moments and share them with us. God bless and be safe.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your bear hunting series. I also love the Call/Lampers dynamic. It's a modern day Redford/Newman.
I love the way you guys are making these videos. They pack in, pack to and from where you shoot something and the pack out. You include most of the hunt not just the exciting parts and it is refreshing to see. You keep posting. I'll keep watching.
Great series.
Thanks for sharing your adventures fellas.
Sure makes my Sundays Gritty! ♨️🍄🐻

Great series Brian! Thanks for taking us along!

Another great video great way to wrap up the season. Those rafts are a game changer. Opens up so much more country.
I love this series. I like how honest you guys were. and the song in the end by Caamp was the best ending! awesome man, show me some love sometimes
You two are true grit! Thanks for the hunt.

I was just talking up this series to a friend as I made her and her wife some Bear Longazina. I'm with Ryan Bear is one of my favorite meats hands down. Thanks for the great series gents.
Right on! Thanks for sharing our content Joel!
Nice film Brian. Liked the shot of the geese crossing the river in front of the kayak.
Thanks Scott! The geese were pure luck! But I'll TAKE THE WIN!
Another one out of the park! Series production on par w/ anything on TV but better in that you guys make it feel like I’m in camp and in on the hunt. WELL DONE!!

Ha! You're gonna love it! Just embrace the suck and refuse to quit.
Beautiful Video the ending scene was a great way to capture the essence of the trip
This is the best hunting channel on youtube in my opinion. You guys are getting me through this quarantine, and this missed hunting season. Thanks.
Its not even the hunt, its the ADVENTURE you guys seek out. Absolutely click theses videos so hard and love the production quality!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Such a fitting wrap up to the series. Love the last song! It seems like we spend so much energy to reach our end goal while in the field. Yet those moments laughing with friends and family are the true treasures.
Thanks Tad. Song is by Caamp.
Great film ... river footage was awesome ..really enjoyed it !
That was probably the best packout video ever. Getting out and reflecting on the adventure. Those are memories of a lifetime my friend. I'm looking forward to this fall hunting season, and hopefully getting my first bear. Cheers!

Love your guys videos !!!!! Inspires me to keep working out with focus on hiking out those big Backcountry bears!!!!
Great as allways. Im not a hunter my self but a wanderer and explorer of the freedom to roam. I love glassing and wander beyond trials. You guys rock! Sweden! Right on! THANK YOU!
Another inspection film. Thank you for sharing. You capture the essence of hunting.
Every episode of this series was stellar. Thanks for sharing your passions through the lens of the camera. Your stories keep us all hungry for that next backcountry adventure.
Overall, couldn’t have asked for a better series on both bear hunts! Can’t wait for upcoming episodes. Thanks gritty crew!
What i like about your hunts is the realism of all the hard work that goes into the hunt. Next show the planning of the hunt beginning to the end. Outstanding job
That's not a bad idea. Thanks Gary!
Loved the music and the grub, at the end of this series. Very fitting. Thanks for sharing 😎
These spring bear videos embody a true hunting adventure. Keep setting that bar high!
This series was so Gritty that I just binge watched all four episodes! Great content gentlemen!
Brain you are by far the best camera man there is on UA-cam. The footage you get is awesome.
Thank you Jacob. I appreciate the praise.
If the last minute of this episode doesn't hit down in your soul to go out and explore, push your limits, and start living life at it's fullest I don't want to know you. Absolutely excellent thank you

Hearing that non-hunters are enjoying these videos makes my day.
Great series. Im not a bear guy but this was great to watch every Sunday with the kids.
The scene on the river , Ryan focused on navigating the rapids, then momma duck n her ducklings floating on by. Haha
Right! Those birds were making those rapids look like still-water! LOL!
Great film
Thanks Darrin! Those rafts are sweet!
Absolutely the finest video I ever watched it takes us on a journey that can only be made by those that have spent time in the wild , Brian I’ve watched you since you first started your podcast , it just gets better and better stay gritty Mr. Bowman!
Thank you Brian. Means a lot to hear you say it gets better and better. Arigato sir!
This episode shows the simplicity of two friends, enjoying a successful hunt, but even more satisfying is forgetting all the negativity surrounding us. That's what the outdoors gives us, it's forever positive and beautiful. Thanks again Brian and Ryan
Those mountains are peaceful. Quite the contrast from burning cities. I wish more people spent time outside next to a campfire.
Excellent series! The film and video quality is outstanding.
Soooo good! Thanks again!
I just can't get enough of these videos!
Hey Nick, I totally agree. The sooner we can get back to the mountains the better. The world is sick right now--literally and figuratively.
Those rafts are game changers!! Keep up the great videos!!
Let's just say, we had to hike a lot more than we expected. LOL!
That whole last Montage of the fire, food and ear to ear grins was such a great way to end an amazing series. Can't wait to see what's in store next. I'm sure it will not disappoint.
Mountain Bear, cousin to the Mountain Lion and Mountain Goat. Great work guys, love the honest nature to the videos you produce.
I think this series is the best of your work Brian, truly remarkable story, footage and adventure!
Very cinematic video. Nice work Brian.
Friggin awesome as always guys! Can’t wait for next years series already!
Wow Brian, I’m blown away...again! Thank you, and not just for sharing your adventures and knowledge, but for you and your crew sharing your many creative talents in these productions! My family and I watch them again and again. It’s such a privilege.
Thank you Ryan. :)
Ha! That’s a great saying! I’m gonna use that 🤙🏼
Can’t get enough of these hunts. Livin your best lives out there. Thanks for all the insanely hard work put in. Between the hunts, with filming, and then the editing, it’s daunting. So thank you again, for Al of this content.
Great! Your hunts are the best of the best. I Recommend life jackets, respectfully. THANKS for sharing.
I agree with you! Where are the jackets son?
@@velancall1968 -- Working on it. :)

Great video. You are truly Mountain men😎👍
Everything about this series. The education, the entertainment, the fun, and the adventures. Way to go guys you’ve done a phenomenal job of displaying what this lifestyle really is about. Thank you for sharing this with us all
Arigato Jack!
Love it guys! The ending is great, all the memories and unforgettable events of the trip. THATS WHATS ITS ALL ABOUT! BEAST MODE!
I've been trying to figure out the difference between false and true morels for years, but it has been unclear until this video! Thank you SO much for sharing this information, the pocket guide, and all the other 'did you know' gems! I learn a lot of good gritty stuff from you both. Thanks for sharing!
Great video and series! Wear those boots till they bust ... story of my life
Man those rafts just make it look like too much fun!
What a great adventure! Great filming and editing. I look forward to your next hunt!
I have said it before and will continue to do so... You guys ARE the real deal true hunters. No candy butts here. I tell all my friends about you guys. Especially the ones who go west. Looking forward to the next adventure we are lucky enough for you to include us on. Thanks guys! Your success is our gain.
Great hunts, looking forward to Ryan and Bryan future hunts!
These 3-4 part series are awesome. Condenses the action and doesn't draw out the videos too long. Great production. Keep them coming.
