If you want to put your legs on the root, move your body front and back. It's helping. 👍
Hi, I used to cross a river as you were trying to do when i was younger. The problem you were having is because your safety lanyards were too long, your arms were at full stretch and there was no way you could reach far enough ahead to pull yourself along. Try next time with the lanyards shorter so that when you are supported by your harness, you can touch the cable with your elbows, and you will then be able to pull yourselves along fine. Nicely done, as usual. The Boy Scouts say, "Be prepared," in case things do not go as planned. Another motto is, when meeting the unexpected, "Adapt, improvise, overcome." You did that by moving your hammocks to where there were stronger trees. Very good episode.

Hi Vanessa and Marina. During my career in the UK army reserves (mechanical engineering) we were taught single rope crossings over water (in winter where the water was covered in ice) during which everyone had to perform a regain back onto the rope after hanging on with one hand half way across before completing the rest of the crossing using a monkey crawl with one leg hanging down to act as a counterweight. Needless to say there is always someone who falls off the rope through the ice. Thankfully it wasn't me. I had to do this again on my physical trainer's (sports leader's course) I was called out by the instructors in the swimming pool when they watched me with interest as I reeled in the lane ropes by hand with my arms without a reel and asked to perform a demonstration, happy days.

Once again impressed with your videogaphy skills. Hi Vanessa and Marina, lovely to see your friend with you today, twice as much fun together! , and what a beautiful island, like treasure island. I love your sense of adventure, you make a good team together. Attempting to cross the water by wire, was extremely difficult, but great fun to watch. I'm enjoying the beautiful sunset and the lovely music. I've never seen a whole Chicken cooked over an open fire before, a real treat fro your hard days adventure. Marina was a fast learner, and learning from the best. Thank you for sharing your great adventure.
Vanessa, this video shows a few things to me.... 1. you should not be afraid to fail and if you do, try some other ways 2. it helps to have a good sense of humour when bushcrafting 3. you are a good honest person who does not take herself too serious.

Excellent! You have a friend with you too. outdoors are always better when you have a friend along. Some of my greatest life experiences have been when I went into the woods with friends. Camp cooked chicken is wonderful, you might try boiling the chicken first then adding some onion, rice, salt and pepper.....and maybe cut up some nice sausages you like and then let that cook until the rice is done and all the water is absorbed. It's so good. Where I am from in South Carolina USA, we call it Purlough (PUR-low) And it's a staple on an overnight camping trip. Great video, as usual. Be safe.

Another great video. If your rope or your line would of been a little tighter, you could of crawled across the top of it. You could probably find a video here on UA-cam of "How to cross a one strand rope" Glad you found a friend to go with you camping, there is safety in numbers, plus it's always fun to share the experience with someone. quick tip on your silky saw...it cuts on the Pull only, so when you push the saw try not to put any pressure on it, only put pressure on the saw when you are pulling towards yourself. Push no pressure, Pull/Pressure :D
