    The DJI Pocket 3 continues to impress me in many ways. One of which is how DJI is handling updates via firmware. They are not only providing fixes, but actively taking feedback from users to make the product better and provide us with relevant fixes. Before I go on the instructions on how to upgrade your firmware for both the DJI Pocket 3 and the DJI Mic 2
    Overview
    Date: 2024.05.15
    Firmware Version: v01.04.08.02
    DJI Mimo App iOS: v1.12.0
    DJI Mimo App Android: v1.12.0
    DJI Mic 2 Transmitter Firmware Version: v04.04.05.13
    What’s New
    Added support for 4K resolution for UVC, and 3840x2160 25/30P output. ActiveTrack and recording with DJI Mic 2 are also available when livestreaming. Set the source video resolution in the live streaming software such as OBS before use. Make sure that the performance of the computer used for live streaming and the quality of the USB cable meet the requirements for 4K resolution. Live streaming with 4K resolution has higher requirements on system performance.
    Added FPV-⊥ gimbal mode. When enabled, and if the camera is powered on or recentered, the camera will stay perpendicular with the touchscreen, which is suitable for quickly capturing subjects.
    Added option for Auto Power Off. Never is now available.
    Adjusted the order of Wearable Mode in the Control Menu. When Wearable Mode is enabled, the screen turns off automatically after 5 seconds.
    Optimized the Auto-focus performance.
    Fixed some minor bugs.
    00:10 - Intro
    00:20 - Live Streaming Update
    00:54 - New Gimbal Mode

    02:40 - Banner Issue Solved
    03:18 - Auto Focus Issues Update
    04:30 - Updated Your Pocket 3
    04:43 - Updating DJI Mic 2
    05:00 - Wrap it Up
    Notes:
    1. Connect the DJI Mic 2 transmitter to a computer to update the firmware. Follow the steps below to update:
    a) Download firmware v04.04.05.13 or later from the official DJI website (www.dji.com/cn....
    b) Make sure the transmitter is powered on. Connect the transmitter to a computer using the UCB-C cable.
    c) Place the downloaded firmware update package .bin file under the root directory for the transmitter.
    d) The transmitter firmware updates will start automatically after disconnecting the transmitter from the computer. During the transmitter updating process, the system status LED will flash red and green. After the firmware update is complete, check the firmware version on a camera to ensure the firmware has been updated successfully.
    2. If the update fails, follow the steps for troubleshooting.
    a) Restart Osmo Pocket 3 and DJI Mimo.
    b) Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the mobile device.
    c) Connect Osmo Pocket 3 to DJI Mimo and try the update again.
    Contact DJI Support if the update fails again.
    Super solid updates again from the DJI Pocket 3 team over at DJI.

    Nice channel 👍Can you lock the gimbal so that it works like a one-axis gimbal? Like just keeping the horizon level. Everything else fixed. For aerial footage.

      @HillPhantom  11 днів тому +1

      I don't think they have something like horizon lock per say, but you can lock the gimbal. Though I am not sure it would be good for what you are looking for in a gimbal lock as I suspect, correct me if I am wrong, you more after horizon lock. In order to lock the gimble just press and hold left joystick button a lock will appear right hand top corner and gimbal will hold lock on the frame you are shooting, release the button and you will unlock. Cheers!

    Have not decided to order this camera since I use the DJI Osmo Action 4, but I did want to compliment your style in presenting these details on the firmware update. Thank you and well done as a user-impact-overview rather than a techie-overview.

    I was thrown off by the off feature originally being off the list of auto-off options. It was a real turn-off. Usually off my radar, it was very off-putting to not be able to turn off the auto-off off mode.

    I wonder about the mic update. What are the new updates? Are there any new changes?

    • @HillPhantom
      @HillPhantom  2 місяці тому

      Yup, the big one for me is the banner goes away after it connects. But there are a few other cool things like connecting it to a Sony Camera. What's New
      Now supports connection with Sony cameras via DJI Mic 2 Camera Adapter. See DJI Mic 2 Camera Adapter Compatibility List for specific models.
      Optimized receiver pop-up interaction. Pop-up window automatically closes after 3 s of no response.
      Optimized logic of splitting files recorded to the transmitter. When recording 32-bit float audio, the file is automatically split and stored every 30 minutes.
      Fixed some known issues.

    Thanks for your video. If i connect the Osmo P3 in Webcam Mode to OBS Studio and change to full 4k Resolution the cam freeze, i don´t know why?

      So I just tried it I use StreamLabs but its just a paid OBS should work the same. I didn't have any issues with freezing and I got the full 4K! I did see some threads that other users of OBS where having same freezing issue. Sorry I could not be more of help but it is working in 4K 30 for me.

      @@droneriobr so you just need to go into setting and turn off auto. Once that is done you can just tap the LCD screen or use the app on the area you want it to focus on.

    This firmware includes a disaster feature. I have sent the following message to DJI:
    Please DJI remove this disaster firmware from the Osmo Pocket 3. I did a firmware upgrade. And now I have the following disastrous feature on my beloved Osmo P3: "Added cancel recording function. Users can press and hold the Shutter/Record button to cancel during recording. The footage will not be stored after cancelling....A disaster feature. Last weekend I lost several important video recordings because I pressed the red record button too long. Who comes up with something like that? To me, this makes the Osmo P3 an unreliable camera (you're kind of playing roulette with your recordings). Proposal: a) remove this feature via a firmware update; b) make the feature optional c) make the "press and Hold function" only work after 4 seconds.

    • @HillPhantom
      @HillPhantom  Місяць тому +1

      Hi. Great points it would be nice to be able to turn it off. I actually like the feature as for UA-camrs it helps with the amount of takes you need to do and fore the amount of mess ups I make, not having so many clips to sort through in post. But that's such a niche use I feel and your idea to turn off for folks who don't do much talking heads is a great one. I hope we get this ability soon!

    The new fpv doesn't operate any different then the original fpv mode. Test them against each other. For real.. it's the same.

      Hmmm interesting I need to look at that further I thought it was a bit different when I tested but I'll fir sure check again.
