You know what. I like seeing what Rockler has to offer and how to use their products. I'm happy Drew has such a great sponsor and their partnership should do well. Keep it up Drew! Screw those who only wish they could.
One recommendation for you... I covered the whole bottom and the top of the forks of mine in light gauge steel. Helps keep the nails from taking chunks out. Great video!
A very handy tool for the pallet upcycler. I built two from Izzy's plan (only reason I built two was that I the lifters the same instead of mirror images so I had two lefts. Solution build two rights and I have two Pallet Pals. One for my brother.)
I would have bought the plans if I had an operational table saw, just to show the love for what is an amazing idea!!! I have just knocked up my own version from scrap I had lying around however, it took about half an hour to make it with no plans, a chop saw, and a little love...
Drew, nice way to support the community. A "LITTLE" less obvious sponsorship support will make it alot more palletable. lol Glad you got your sponsorship.
Pat M Hey Pat! Thats funny. Since I had no commentary on this video I played around with a lot of different angles and Rockler product. This video was kind of fun to play with Rockler product. They sent me a bunch of product when I first signed with them and I am trying them all out with every project, so it is inevitable that you will see the name in the shots. You won't see them as much as you did here. This was just to play around.
WoodRodent Rockler has nothing to do with what I put in my videos. I have free rein to do my videos how I want. Rockler gave me my first shot, along with MicroJig, so you will be seeing their names in future projects. This video was just to play with my sponsers name since I had no commentary. You know it is funny, no one said anything about the first three or four scenes with the GRR-RIPPERS. Oh well, thank you for watching none the less........ :)
Rock-n H Woodshop Thats great buddy, it was just too over the top in this one. Always look forward to some great projects from you. Alot of them really helped me. Would love to start seeing a few more intermediate skill level pieces.
Rock-n H Woodshop I appreciate the response although none was necessary. It is, after all your show. Hell if I had a new sponsor I would be inclined to do the same thing. Keep up the great videos.
I built this but I glued a piece of osb to the bottom for extra strength and help from nails damaging the hardwood I used. Works good but does break too many boards since it doesn’t put even pressure on the bottom of the boards.
Izzy would be proud! Now how to quickly remove nails. 50 pallets, Really? Wow, must be planning on building a shed out of them to keep even more in! (Haha). Thanks for sharing.
I've seen this tool before. I personally don't like the violent way it can tear up some wood when the nails refuse to come out, especially in the middle where it's most important. Also unless the ends are really worth saving I just use a skill saw and cut them off. But the best and quickest way I found to dismantle them is I use a long metal cutting saws-all blade to cut the middle nails. Then I use a punch to remove the heads. Drew, great video. Tasteful product placement (hehe). Can't wait to see what you are planning.
Paul St George Yup, I am sure that there are better ways, actually I know that there are better ways but it also has to do with time for me. Since I acquire these at a fast rate, this is the best method. Oak pallets really hold up well to the PP, but pine and cedar???? Forget it! It tears them up too bad.
Butsuma Butsudans Thank you!!! I had great fun with this one. Since Izzy had already introduced it to the public, I felt I didn't need to talk about how to build it, so I played around with lots of angles
I've looked through the Rockler site and don't see the base of those deluxe clamps anywhere....maybe I'm missing it??? Can you point me in the direction to the piece you screw down @ 2:05 min into the video??
Great video. I started my shop on a stack of pallets and using pallets to make my projects. Man they are a pain to dismantle. Would have loved to have one of these. And wow... ALL yours are oak??? I rarely find those. Oh...and as long as I learn something from the video... Or find it entertaining... I could care less about your sponsor placement. If they sent me those awesome tools I'd show them off too. :)
Thank you Angie, I greatly appreciate your support. It means a lot. Yes, I do find a lot of oak pallets through my workplace. They get a lot of heavy shipments so the pallets must sustain that weight. Roughly about 75 to 80% of my pallets are Oak.
Dustin Bean I will say that I will be using them on my next week's video. However, that is not the original intent. I will give you a hint......."home improvement".
havenisse2009 Yea they sent me a lot of tools to try out and they are all great! I loved playing around with this video and the Rockler name! Probably won't see them in future videos as much as this one. Since this video had no commentary, I played around with many different angles and "product placement". LOL
The price went up because you you advertized the plans in your video. The funny thing is, someone already did a video of a similar device without any drawings made of wood. And he also made the same in steel.
Since a pallet jack is a device for lifting and moving pallets from one place to another, it is curious why you called this device for dismantling pallets a pallet "jack." Other than that, this is a fine video and your work is an excellent exemplar of Izzy's device.
I did it for support. We are a community of woodworkers that bring all kinds of free content to all the viewers we have and buying plans helps support that person's channel. Great question!!!
It's worth it just to support a fellow wood worker. A small amount to pay as a recognition for his creativity. I paid $70 each for 2 Duck Billed Deck Wreckers and three dollar for the Pallet Pal. The PP was definitely a better deal. Thanks to Izzy
Yeah it’s never my favorite either. I recently made a pretty safe push stick platform that allows me to cut narrow strips and not have to worry about that blade. I’ll be making a video about that soon
I like your videos and great personality, but using Izzy's idea or other's idea for one of your videos, not a good idea, even with your full disclosure.. Come on man make your own stuff!
This was like 1% of my entire video collection. If you watch everything else, you will notice that it is all my own stuff except maybe this video. Harsh comment for the lack of investigation here.
Your video was useless. The only thing you told us was where to buy the plans for it. You could have just said that from the beginning instead of making us watch till the end to find out you're not even going to tell us how do the dimensions. Again thanks for waiting my time
Well for one thing because it’s not my design it’s not my place to give away the dimensions. The woodworker that came up with this idea made the plans to sell and therefore that is where the dimensions will come from. I simply showed you how it goes together and performs. So in retrospect it wasn’t a waste of time.
That's not what a pallet jack is. Considering I watched this video trying to learn how I might be able to build a pallet jack, my time has been completely wasted, not to mention it was wasted on little more than an ad. thanks for nothing
Rob Mckennie hmmmm, I merely called it what the maker of this design calls it. I appreciate your time more than you, but I do apologies for the misleading information. I hope you have a bless day and continue on a positive outlook!
Rock-n H Woodshop I think you'll find it's listed on his website as "pallet pal", perhaps he changed it because he realized how misleading it is. I think it's also worth noting that your video is the first Google search result for other phrases, including "homemade pallet lift" and "homemade pallet truck", and these are unequivocally *not* what Izzy calls or ever has called his tool. Too, the plans are now $8, not $3, so that's another piece of misleading information you may want to correct
This video was done in 2014 when the design probably cost $3. Do you expect him to go back through every single video and update every single description accordingly? Great Video. Love them all.
DREW! Great job man! Thank you for the support and sharing the love man. It looks great!
izzy swan You're most welcome Izzy! You deserve every bit of it!!!
You know what. I like seeing what Rockler has to offer and how to use their products. I'm happy Drew has such a great sponsor and their partnership should do well. Keep it up Drew! Screw those who only wish they could.
Thanks a lot Paul I really appreciate the support
I'm with Paul! I think it's awesome that Rockler is your sponsor and I think it's cool of you to feature their items where you're able to.
Great build Drew, Izzy's the man!
Carl Jacobson You got that right
One recommendation for you... I covered the whole bottom and the top of the forks of mine in light gauge steel. Helps keep the nails from taking chunks out. Great video!
Yea, this was to just get me started! I plan on making a steel tubing PP later! It will work great for now.
A very handy tool for the pallet upcycler. I built two from Izzy's plan (only reason I built two was that I the lifters the same instead of mirror images so I had two lefts. Solution build two rights and I have two Pallet Pals. One for my brother.)
WoodRodent Sweet! Two in case one breaks and with as many as I have to do, it will break! LOL
Killer pallet project Drew. Definitely useful. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool. Izzy has such great ideas. Good job putting this together.
CMR Woodworks Thanks Chris
That will come in Very Handy, makes breaking down the pallet 100 times easier , Thanks for Sharing
Thanks Sterling! I already pulled 3 apart just to test it!
I would have bought the plans if I had an operational table saw, just to show the love for what is an amazing idea!!! I have just knocked up my own version from scrap I had lying around however, it took about half an hour to make it with no plans, a chop saw, and a little love...
Yep it is a really cool idea. It would’ve probably taken me just as long without plans too. Don’t feel bad. 😉
Izzy made his mostly on the bandsaw.
Drew, nice way to support the community. A "LITTLE" less obvious sponsorship support will make it alot more palletable. lol Glad you got your sponsorship.
I noticed the same thing. Can you say product placement overload. Tell Rockler that less is better and more believable. :)
Pat M Hey Pat! Thats funny. Since I had no commentary on this video I played around with a lot of different angles and Rockler product. This video was kind of fun to play with Rockler product. Great Video. Izzy is a great inventor. Looks like it worked well for you.
Custom Chris It does, but a metal version will be in my future I'm sure.
I built a pallet pal a while back and it works great, congrats on the sponsors (wayne's world flash back) and tuck in those dam hoodie strings!
Minus D9 Hee hee, I thought that same thing after watching it back. LOL
I built this but I glued a piece of osb to the bottom for extra strength and help from nails damaging the hardwood I used. Works good but does break too many boards since it doesn’t put even pressure on the bottom of the boards.
Yeah, not the best method but it does make quick work without a saw.
Izzy would be proud! Now how to quickly remove nails. 50 pallets, Really? Wow, must be planning on building a shed out of them to keep even more in! (Haha). Thanks for sharing.
MRrwmac Good guess but no. LOL
Great video Drew..I guess your next project will be a storage rack for your reclaimed lumber..
Gary Gilbert Dude, I have no idea where all of this will be going in the shop, but you can bet there will be plenty to go around.
No worries sorry I missed you second live show.. would love to talk shop with you
Great work What’s the music playing , I like that tune ,

Man I'm curious to know what your plans are for all those pallets!
April Wilkerson A solid oak pallet hardwood flooring
loved the Video! Congrats! simpple, great and usefull project, and wow production!
keep up the great work.
Butsuma Butsudans Thank you!!! I had great fun with this one. Since Izzy had already introduced it to the public, I felt I didn't need to talk about how to build it, so I played around with lots of angles
Sweet may have to get the plans and do one myself.
Mike Fulton Well worth it
Great videography Drew. Need to make me one of these.
***** Thank you Tyler
The pallets to your right at the end. . Red ones.. is there written Pool and a year.? The come in different colors as per year...
WM Woodworking I don't know. I will have to look them up now
Sweet kicks!
I've looked through the Rockler site and don't see the base of those deluxe clamps anywhere....maybe I'm missing it??? Can you point me in the direction to the piece you screw down @ 2:05 min into the video??
Don Patton well I've done my own research and I think they stopped making that particular T track. I'm very sorry.
Great video. I started my shop on a stack of pallets and using pallets to make my projects. Man they are a pain to dismantle. Would have loved to have one of these. And wow... ALL yours are oak??? I rarely find those.

Yes, I do find a lot of oak pallets through my workplace. They get a lot of heavy shipments so the pallets must sustain that weight. Roughly about 75 to 80% of my pallets are Oak.
So are they for a floor remodel or a whole bunch of Christmas projects??? Come on! I'm die'n here!
Dustin Bean I will say that I will be using them on my next week's video. However, that is not the original intent. I will give you a hint......."home improvement".
Let me know if you need a hand. This week is a little slow . Fun Oklahoma weather!!
lots of rockler logos in this video. could you make one for europallets also ?
havenisse2009 Yea they sent me a lot of tools to try out and they are all great! I loved playing around with this video and the Rockler name! Very creative!
Scott Belaire Thank you Scott. Creative.....is a great word to describe Izzy!
Good vid and good music.
Don't let the whiners who snivel about product placement bother you.
stephen dickinson Thank you Stephen
X good job
Thank You!!!
How do I get one? How much? Thanks.
Don’t sell them, sorry
Cool build
Cheers
Tim from Wood 4 Nothing
Thank You!!! Cheers back!!!
Looks like you have your work cut out for you with all those pallets
Nick Ferry I know, yuck
Looks like Izzi has put the price up for the Pallet Pal!!! It's now $7.95 not $3.95... Mmmmm... 3 years of inflation .....
+Paul Burgess LOL, that very well could be
now 9.95
excelente vídeo !! 🍻⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🎶🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thank You!!!
Nice!
excelente ideia, parabéns
+Duque Machado not my idea but I’m glad you liked the video! #izzyswan
Cool project for another project. Not to be mean, but why would you need plans for this? Don't look too difficult to build from a picture.
I did it for support. We are a community of woodworkers that bring all kinds of free content to all the viewers we have and buying plans helps support that person's channel. Great question!!!
Rock-n H Woodshop Why reinvent the wheel right?! Lol. I bought the plans also. 3 bucks is nothing for the great detailed plans you get.
It's worth it just to support a fellow wood worker. A small amount to pay as a recognition for his creativity. I paid $70 each for 2 Duck Billed Deck Wreckers and three dollar for the Pallet Pal. The PP was definitely a better deal. Thanks to Izzy
WoodRodent You got that right WR! Spend little money to gain a lot of time!!! I love it!!!
Vert smart congratulation
AWESOME .... but no longer $3.95. As of 2020, it's $9.95 :(
Oh no. I’m sorry. Didn’t know price went up
I updated the description.
I really did not get it
It breaks the wood all apart for f
That 1st clamp was set too near the cutting edge.
👍🤜🤛
The pallenator
Aw, c'mon bro, where's the inbuilt bench tape measure?
Smh & 😂
I cringe when I see narrow stock being cut like that against the fence, nice video though
Yeah it’s never my favorite either. I recently made a pretty safe push stick platform that allows me to cut narrow strips and not have to worry about that blade. I’ll be making a video about that soon
Too many tools to make this and far too much complicated to build . Just use a hand saw drill etc
Circular saw works great if you don’t mind short pieces. This is only to save them as long pieces.
Except you’re still breaking the wood, junk!
Yeah that’s why I stopped using it. 😂
Not wasting my time where the content creator is either unwilling or unable to speak and articulate their process.
Is the annoying music really necessary buddy? I don't think it is!
Bobby Bongo lmao. No it's not. 😂 That's why I got rid of the music in my later seasons. Sorry dude.
😂😂😂😂It breaks them all apart
piece of junk.
