Hi Justin, thanks a mil for all this info. I'm a professor but I was just schooled. I came to look at the best app for video editing and now I'm binge watching your videos.
Great summary. I've been filming with gimbals and phones for a couple years now... audio is almost always the greatest challenge. There are some promising additions to this field that use bluetooth instead of wider band radio signals-- instamic for one. Another tip-- if you're trying to go ultra-light on gear, you can make a (mostly solid) tripod out of a monopod screwed into a mini-tripod. (you can screw the gimbal into the top to hold the phone and point the shot, even follow you around a room if you're using the right app). And it all fits into a smallish leather side satchel. Serves you well at the climate talks!
So lets say we got all that. What would be the next best thing to buy to make livestreaming easier?? I have a good laptop. So a facecam?? Trying to do multiple cam livestreams for card openings.
Dude you deserve more likes and subs. Your channel can greatly help small channels I'm trying to buy a tripod but can find a store with them. Well the good ones. I bought one off wish and it was pretty good. But other than that your videos taught me better ways. So thank you.
Great video Justin.. Right on what I look for. Ehm 2 questions.. Is the Rode Video Micro is better than Rode Vide Mic Pro? And does both of them is compatible with android phone? Thanks from Indonesia.
Thank you so much ! The church i attend to we have been doing live's services because of the pandemic. I use my galaxy s10 plus but I feel like I need better sound quality and this video helped a lot. Thank you again ! God bless.
Hi, I run a British model railway youtube channel. I run through my Apple Macbook Pro and with a dongle I try to use my iphone and two Logitech webcams. I often experience an echo coming from my iphone(I think) which is very frustrating; I do use earplugs in the iphone. Which side of the iphone should I use for best results? A viewer suggested I turn the iphone around. I use Streamyard for my live youtube but have people suggest I use OBS Any suggestions? Thanks
Great tips, going to be purchasing a new phone and lavallier mic soon,i go to see a lot of bands live and although I am on a limited budget want to start doing gig /concerts vlogs as well as doing short live streams with decent enough sound quality ,i already have a tripod(van-dens)
Hi Justin. Could recommend a camera for me. I want to do an extremely long bicycle ride to promote a charity, over 300km non-stop, maybe up to 12 hours duration, & I want to live stream, also non-stop. So I’ll need power banks for iPhone & camera. Sometimes the cellphone signal might be marginal. I expect there’ll be many potential problems to overcome, & I might have to test several setups. Can you please recommend a camera to try ? Many thanks. Phil
Hi, I am looking to zoom my wedding ceremony for guests that aren't able to make it. What would be your recommendation, use a smart phone or DSLR camera to live stream? We will be having the ceremony in a chapel.
First off, congratulations! And you could use either, DSLR will usually have better quality but may need some adjusting fo different lighting/focus whereas the smartphone should be easier but with more basic settings 👍
Great video Justin! Can you recommend a splitter that I can use for Android that will let me plug in my Rode Videomicro and my ear buds so I can hear while I record? I've tried one and it didn't work.
Something like this should do what you're after: www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0T6PSF/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B01M0T6PSF&pd_rd_wg=WgzeY&pd_rd_r=VQF9D8MEETWBZ74EN4NC&pd_rd_w=pbiIW
Justin, after watching a few videos of yours, I am finally convinced to subscribe to your channel and send you some Thumbs-up all the way from India! Your videos are not only simple but very informative and pleasing to listen to. You and a few others have inspired me to make proper use of my smartphone other than calling, texting or watching videos. A HUGE shoutout to ma man - Justin! Namaste! \m/ 🤘
Thank you again Justin for such a great video. I have an android phone and recently bought a Canon SX740 HS to also record with as a starter vlogging camera. Now my question is which teleprompter app, do you suggest is best when considering Nano Teleprompter vs. Oratory of which you talk about here in this video? I have still been using Nano Teleprompter since I watched you video on it. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
@@PrimalVideo Thank you so much for your reply! I know you have a lot of subscribers so when you find the time to respond it means a lot. Especially to those of us that watch your content regularly and I myself always take something away from your knowledge. I appreciate your hard work you put into your videos & deep explanations and make it the subject of the video very user friendly. I continue to use the Nano Teleprompter. I did have a recent issue with the app but I emailed the contact email within the app and it has been fixed since then! I find it to be very helpful!
if I use audio splitter on my phone and I use 2 earphones, the other one is for internal audio and the other one is for my voice. do you think it will work? while im livestreaming
Justin love your videos . I am trying to figure out how to do my lives along with having teleprompter on my phone screen. is it possible? Do we have any app for that?
Wow! You have so much great information! I purchased the viewow wide-angle lens (saw that on another one of your videos) and I love it! The problem I am having is I can't use it with my DJI Osmo mobile 2. DO you have a solution for that?
you might need to add a counterweight to the other side of the gimbal, lots of videos online for that, i've seen some people just sticking some coins to even out the weight
How do you adjust the audio when streaming on twitch with those external microphones ? Say you have it running and want to turn down the audio when you go into a loud bar ? How would you turn it down ?
Yeah, seriously! Thanks Justin! Just shot some test footage-- makes your delivery so much smoother. Eye contact, not bad, could be better-- I'm looking forward to the day when we have cameras right inside the phone display. That feature would be amazing for video chat as well...
Justin would you please suggest a good Tele lens as well? I am considering casting my class lectures online. But I have to put the tripod 10 meters away from speaker. Also would use wireless microphone for that. Is the one you offered here works for that range?
Oh and I did invest in Rode wireless mics after watching your review of them but am having some difficulty with where to place them during the workout I film, rather than wearing them I am just placing it near me on the mat I am using but maybe I might be better with a shot gun mic set up?
I do mostly videos with a horizontal setup using a 2021 Motorola stylus. It has a 48MP camera and shoots 1080p video. How do you get a non blurry stream?
Big question. Using the Roland Go:Livecast with an iPhone 7, it allows for a 2nd camera to be Bluetoothed to the system. Can I use another iphone 7 just as a camera, in other words not connected to a service?
Hi Justin! Oh great review and advise. I will check out the Takama sounds great for doubling up. Thank you for all the coverage .. Look forward to more Justin...
Great video! Thanks for all of the suggestions and links. I have a problem with shake on the videos I make at contra dances. Since I'm also busy playing music, I need to have my iPhone relatively near me to turn it on/off. I think the beat of the music is the culprit but have yet to figure out a way to deal with it. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Justin you have permission to talk to me like I'm 6 :) I have the Arkon and I see how the phone mount part (quick release) slides out. Are you saying the extension screws to the mount or to the tripod? Sorry mate I have both parts in my hand and am stuck.
Hi Justin - Can I schedule a livestream by logging into my account on a PC and scheduling the livestream, then activating the stream on my iPhone XR when I need to actually stream? Example: I'm attempting to schedule a live stream for next week, but I won't have my PC available - I'll be streaming from my phone. Can I accomplish this?
For people who want to live stream while playing an instrument (I play saxophone) would you make any changes to the mic line up? Standing to close to a mic while playing can really overpower the mic and can cause distortion. Also standing further away (so you aren’t over crowding both the camera and mic) could make you sound weak. If you have any input I would greatly appreciate it!
get a microphone tripod, and you can set it up as far or close as you want. also, making sure your room is set up for acoustic sound is important as well
Hey Justin - Seems like every Android phone I've tried, from Pixel 3 devices to the OnePlus 6T that I own, to the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus have bad camera support and won't get 30fps from the front camera in anything but VERY bright light when livestreaming or recording directly from apps like FB, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and most others. Have you had any success in less than ideal lighting condition obtaining that 30fps mark on Android? If so, what devices and settings are you using? Thanks and have a great day!

God bless, so I was going to ask does the BOYA microphone also work for Motorola? Also my phone isn't a smart phone
