Does the Rode system transmit in stereo or just mono?
I have tried the rode and iPhone method but it seems Facebook still uses my phone mic instead. Any ideas how to fix??
Hi
Please help our church we don’t have money to go live on Facebook.
If you want to support us i can talk to you.
@@ChrisFlores22 Did you manage to fix this? I'm thinking of using this method.
thanks bro looking at all this for our new ministry broadcast I'm trying to research the gear to start it!
You should have a sample video of each set up. That way we can see and hear the difference
Am going for a full time missionary work and this video opened my eyes in a better way.Love from kenya
Hey Brady! Just discovered your channel and I wanted to express my whole gratitude for your ministry. Y’all are helping churches all over the world forreal.
hello, thanks for your video, Brady!
I use Scarlet for the past years in out church but it broke today. So, for next week, I was wondering if I have the XLR mic and plug it into the mixer will it only pick the mic and the Aux we might play and not the whole congregation? Our camera is set up at the back along with the mixers.
We're doing a worship night we want to Facebook Live the monthly event to pull people in. My question is: where is the best place to locate the Rode Go "mic"? Near a speaker? I'm assuming that we shouldn't leave the mic in the back in the sound booth (40 yards) away from the speakers? Or can we? We haven't purchased the Rode Go Wireless yet. Thanks for your input.
Just used the phone setup today after months of Mevo nightmares and can’t say thank you enough. Best live stream quality we’ve ever had.
Cody Groce so glad to hear, Cody!
I've been looking at Mevo. Any more detail you can give about your experience?
you, Mr. Brady, are the answer to my prayers. Thank you and may God bless and keep you!
I didn’t have any of these video tops years ago when I was appointed steam coordinator and Media Director back in the early 2014-2015s when “live” was in its infancy. Just got appointed in the Media Department again for streaming services at a different church. Your content is a blessing.
Thanks. That was useful.
I am always on hunt to find out the cheapest live streaming setups and your video tutorial triggered loads of ideas in my mind and I am up to give them a shoot very soon. The video hosting platform (currently we are using StreamingVideoProvider) is the cheapest option we are utilizing, and on the hardware side, you covered almost all possible cheap audio and video gadgets. Thank you very much man!
Just use a webcam, and run the church audio through the computer the webcam is connected to. Easy and very, very low cost.
I am eternally hopeful I can pull this off (I'm the one-woman show in our tiny church) after watching your videos. If I do you will know. Just listen for the delighted screams of joy. :D
Hey Lisa, how's it going with streaming for your church?
The Panasonic g7 is a great camera that would do a great job at half the cost of the bmpcc 4K setup.
The G7 has a 30 min record limit
JoshDidItt it has a clean hdmi out that is not effected by the record limit. Also that is the only way to livestream. If you are prerecording then it is not the best for this purpose.
@@matrixxhunter Makes sense. Thats why i love my Fuji. No need to buy the $100 adapter.
Good stuff bro... There is actually another option that is very impressive and that Slingstudio.
Can't say I'm a huge fan of wireless options.
Brady Shearer yeah but with the title... “cheapest” there are other options.
Brady Shearer also in your cell phone option you are using wireless audio. I don’t know if you have used sling studio but it is nice
@@CaseyFleetMedia For the cost of the SlingStudio Hub alone, you can almost get the BMPCC 4K. And I'll choose/recommend that option every time for quality and reliability.
Brady Shearer I understand so you are sharing more of personal options than good options for all. It seems you don’t have much experience with Slingstudio. We run our services on it and have amazing quality. And use a couple of IPhones for cameras wirelessly!
Nice setup for $2500 you get 1 camera, and then spend more on the equipment to attach it. Here is something to think about. We put in 4 camera's, an ATEM switcher, sound board, and new wireless microphones and PC for this same amount. 3 Cannon VIixa R800's, One Mevo Live Stream, 1 ATEM Mini, 1 Mackie ProFX 12 Sound Board, 1 Phynx PRO PTU-7000B (4 wireless mics), AMD Ryzen 5G w/16 GB of memory PC, Elgato Stream Deck, Cables, associated mounting hardware, and ball head tripod mounts. You do not need to spend a fortune on high end equipment to produce a great service experience. It was easier over 9 months to grow this system. For small churches the ATEM Mini and one or two inexpensive cameras with OBS is enough and then that system can grow. Something for everyone to think about. Our total cost: $2500 rounded up.
Thanks so much....
We Church in TAIWAN is considering streaming live every Sunday. This we greatly help.
Thank you, your information is always spot on and helpful. I appreciate your content and all the help.
What's the camera you're using to shoot this video? Church Pastor here
For the tour? That's the Canon C500 II + 16-35mm f2.8.
Hi! For those willing to use their Phones as cameras and be able to use it in OBS, I suggest using the Iruin 4k Webcam App as it is free and available to be used via USB (android) which decreases delay *I don't have an iDevice so I don't know if this works*. And if you have more phones lying around you can use it as a multicam setup.
Great video, as always, very informative and compact.
I use my phone as a third camera using a similar setup. The great thing is that it wireless video capability comes standard.
The best no nonsense church live stream YT video!
You want no nonsense livestreaming just get a camcorder. The Blackmagic is needlessly expensive and complicated to use.
Excellent video! This is a great intro and more in tune
with smaller churches.
I’m getting some serious Potato Jet vibes from this set...love it! Great content my dude.
I thought this was Potato Jet from the thumbnail lol
Thanks for the video, Brady. The last thing I expected to see was Jontron, but that did make me laugh, so kudos to you. The previous pastor I replaced was using his laptop to stream services and it was... not great. Appreciate your work.
Dude! I didn’t know the black magic 4K was only $1300 body only. Pretty sweet!
I use my eos rp as a webcam for our + the Rode Go as our lapel now. We’re over zoom so the worship team is running the instruments through a mixer. And boy do the shure mics sound like podcast material haha
Love the content here! Def subbing for more tips for church
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Just bought the Rode wireless go mic after watching this. I had to buy from ebay- it's been out of stock for weeks!
If you wanted to save about 800 dollars on the 2,500 option you can skip the panasonic lense and get some vintage glass. Maybe a canon fd lense with a M4/3 adapter. You can probably get the lense and the adapter on ebay for under 100 dollars and that way you only need about 1700 dollars with a BMPCC 4k option.
Thank you very much , I was handle over my church social media platform to manage and this is a very good video to start learning from
This is so excellent. Thank you very much from a pastor from Germany. God’s blessings to you!
Just use OBS for switching, recording and stream encoding on a laptop or desktop you may already have. Then use one or two camcorders you or someone else in your church may already have. Bring in the camcorder video using a couple HDMI to USB3 converters found on Amazon for around $18. Yes they do work very well. Why everyone feels they need to buy a digital SLR camera is a puzzle to me. They're expensive and a very clunky form factor for shooting video. Great for shooting photos but clunky for video, plus most of them overheat while shooting video for several minutes.
Lol my church's budget for streaming when we first went remote was literally $0. I pulled out my Logitech Webcam and a desktop Microphone and use OBS to run everything to youtube live. I even run the projector for lyrics and slideshow from that same laptop so I can just do screen capture in OBS to get a good viewing on the stream. Not great... but does the job. My first two upgrades are probably going to be a camcorder and a new audio solution, maybe the GO Wireless system he mentioned here as we already had a sound board going into this.
Thank you so much for all you do you say this like it is so I need all the help I can get !
Thanks for the video! Your videos are very helpful for smaller churches (like mine). Please consider making a video about how to do quality video and audio for "overflow" rooms as churches reopen. We are trying to figure out how to have worship in our sanctuary, but also pump the video and audio into our fellowship area, and potentially other classroom to allow for more people to attend, while still complying with social distancing recommendations.
Brad, thank you for the help. This is from a 40 year av guy that has done 2 churches, my own and another. Why are we combining audio at the camera? I have done this at my church and for AV distribution to fellowship hall and such it is great as both in sync and on the HDMI. But this does not seem to function with the elgato converter and we take the audio off the board and combine and sync in the OSB software. For whatever reason, every Lord's Day, I have to sync the audio video for the stream. Seems to be with changing local ISP demands. I am doing a third church and am trying to make this as easy for them as possible. They have a mac book pro and I will probably be using a remote control camera with HDMI output and hopefully a small mixer that may also have USB mix out.
Will watch later..it's 3.45am USA
I love these videos - why not use a cheaper video camera? These c ameras are really expensive for our small church - is there a camcorder you can recommend?
Just sharing a tip: if using a cell or iPad to stream, best to activate the devices DND (do not disturb) in Settings. Otherwise if the device receives any messages (such as a text or messenger) it can interrupt the livestream
Louie Beehler Great tip!
Churches have no need for cameras that require buying a lens. Churches just need camcorders. They work just fine. And churches don't need 4K. Almost 100% of churches use cameras for livestreaming. And, in almost ALL cases, 4K is still not used in livestreaming. 720p at 120 fps is more than enough for livestreaming. You can use 1080p at 120 fps too. But 720p works just fine, and is a beautiful picture. No church needs to spend thousands and thousands on livestreaming. You could actually even just use web cams, with the church audio running through the computers audio for sound. Web cams work just fine, livestream in both 720p and 1080p, and would save the church thousands of dollars.
Hi! Thanks a lot!
Has the Wireless system delay?
This was great information, We currently use an iPhone 11, will the receiver cut out the background noise ? Thanks for sharing
Really a well done video! Thank you so much for setting this up. It helps a lot.
Hey so I already stream for my church and we have so pretty good gear already. I was wondering how to improve. The channel is agapeoc. If you could watch something and give some tips that would be awesome.
Thank you! This was super helpful! I was wondering if you could do a review of the new Rode Wireless Go 2 Mic System? I want to know how it sounds in church with a phone. I appreciate your expertise! :)
Thank you for this video. Blessings to you
Thanks Brady, your videos during this pandemic have been a constant source of useful and lifesaving information!
My question is this. What if you have a pulpit that has a mic and you have no access to a mixer or sound board. My thoughts were a laptop, webcam that has good zoom and some type of wireless mic clip on that literally would clip onto the pulpit mic and then I could somehow usb it to my computer so the zoom people could hear the speaker? I’d love to have any thoughts on this!
What do you recommend for setting up our ministry live stream equipment from the home office?
That was Great! Thank you! I am traveling with evangelistic teams and so need a super simple and portable setup... You gave me some great ideas!
Any options for meeting in a theater? Long throw, low light setting?
Thank you Brad. What affordable cables can be used to extend the video transmission from the camera to the laptop over 50meters. I learn HDMI cables do not maintain quality over a long distance.
Hey Brady! Thanks so much for the video. Is the setup you're recommending for a phone a mono output? Also, what are you plugging into on your board? Aux output? Lastly, is this going to capture 6-8 inputs at a time?
Hey men, thank you very much. My wife and I we are planting a church in SC and are services are starting in Jan. I love this set up you presented. My only question is, how should I send my voice to that mixer? I’m assuming the rode on the mixer is connected to the out put, but what will be the best option to bring my voice to that mixer.
Thanks a lot. God bless
Great video. I've subscribed. I have a question. Our church has a Behringer X32 mixer, RODE Go wireless mic system and we upload pre-recorded video to our Facebook and UA-cam. For the most part, that works best for us due to the ability to edit the video. I heard that you mentioned using the RODE Go microphone to capture all the available output from the mixer. This will be huge to capture the total sound (e.g. singer and instruments). The camera we are using is the Panasonic 4K HC-VX870. From what I can see, the camera has a microphone input(which I have been using for the Rode Go receiver) and a "A/V" input. Both are 3.5mm input. At the 5:12 minute mark, you advised the use of mini XLR for sound. As best as I can tell, the current camera does not have a XLR input. Will using the current mic 3.5mm input hinder the sound coming from the mixer? What do you suggest. Thanks.
What would be a good setup for a pre- show before church service?
Simple & Sweet, thanks for the awesome tips.
Hey Brady. I have a question. For this set up with the rhode. Is that for sound from only the person speaking?
Any videos on using PTZ like SMTAV 30X with single Ethernet cable?
Praise the Lord
Hey i have a question, So my church uses obs studio and recently we noticed that sometimes when we have to update it, it gets a little crazy and it will go down so we have to switch over to the phones (which btw i think this is a great video that will help us a lot with that.)
But I was wondering would you still recommend obs or is there something else thats far better than obs that still is on a budget?
I am just curious....
2:37 - how do you also POWER that iPhone? I like to use separate power to insure the iPhone stays on!
Good stuff brother! Thanks for the info!
Excellent. We've been using the Rode Wireless straight into our camera but had not thought about running it through our soundboard. Great tip!
I like the ideas but in those cases the camera and computer has to be a few feet from the stage/preacher. How can we manage the distance? There is a limit for the cable length? Normally the sound/media booth at church are 50/100 meter from the stage.
Hi Brady...our church service can go upto 3hrs long..Do you recommend a DSLR like you showed in this video or a camcorder? I hear the DSLR's get heated up, and also a dummy battery (AC input) is needed to run the camera for longer durations...Can you please shed some light on this. Thanks!
what do you have on a 3 camera setup on the cheap? PTZ's as well?
Great video and communicator! It sure shows you got great people around you.
So you don't need some kind of mobile interface between the wireless receiver and the phone??
With the phone option, can you use the Dji version?
About the software to use..which one do you recommend Vmix or are there other better options
@Brady, your videos are a lifesaver for someone who is trying to increase the quality of our (tiny) church live stream without spending much. THANK YOU! I'm soooo close to getting our setup figured out, but I'm missing something. I'm using the Cam Link, and picked up the Fotowelt Air for capturing audio from our sound board. I'm using OBS with our existing Sony Handycam HDF-CX405. The video is working perfectly - but I'm getting no audio through the Cam Link to the computer. Any suggestions?
Hi Lisa, how's your day going with you?
Would love a 1 on 1 teaching session
Great video and you touched on exactly what I was looking for! Using the Rode wireless go ii with a soundboard. I never tried it and I have been using the two transmitters independently, using essentially the audio that comes out of them instead of the church soundboard. The only issue I could see is if the soundboard out of line of sight from where your camera is. The second generation has better range, and many setups have the soundboard in the back of the church, but I am curious if you have ever tried this when the soundboard is actually located in a room further away…
Hi Brady! I discoverd your channel by chance today. We are currently using Easyworship for our lyrics, music and scriptures. The easiest (and cheapest) option for us, would be using a mobile phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy 10 plus, so I think that should be able to do the job. I had a look at the cost of the recommended RODE Wireless Go system, but, just to make sure, will I still need the ATEM Mini Pro as encoder as well? Thank you so much for helping our churches spreading the Gospel easy and cheap! :)
Hey 👋 if you’re streaming directly from your mobile device, you won’t need the ATEM.
Very informative video bro. What wires can be used to connect camera to the computer to reduce signal loss if the computer isn’t near to the camera ?
Can you make a list of the gadgets that would help so much
Hi, which has better audio, xlr from camera to soundboard or soundboard directly straight to the computer via usb? our soundboard has usb output
Nice review thanks
Where are you plugging the transmitter into the mixer. Which port?
Hey Brady! What camera did you use to record yourself in this video?
Great info for our church! Thanks!

Hello, wqtching fron Philippines and new in your channel. Thanka for your tips
On option #1, Do you have a link for the adaptor that puts the Rode Wireless Go cable into the soundboard? Thanks
Thank you so much for this valuable content! So great to get help wading through the unlimited choices for gear
I'm glad this was helpful, Ian!
Thanks..God bless you
Love your videos. You've provided a lot of content on the gear for live streaming, but I haven't seen anything on streaming software. Would you do a video on this? Look forward to hearing from you!
We use Ecamm and really like it.
My aux out on the board is 1/4 inch mono and I cant find an adapter (Stereo 3.5mm male TRS to 1/4in Male TS Mono) that'll send stereo signal to the Rode. Any suggestions? Are you coming off the headphone jack? I have an adapter for that one which sends a stereo signal.
First of all I am your fan and thank you for this video. I wanna buy your camera but my worry is that the battery might last for 5 hours of service. Does the camera you have recommended in this video allow me to charge while at the same time live streaming? if not, what's your suggestion for using this camera for 5 hours non-stop?
Just plug it in to an electrical outlet!
@@prochurchtools Thank you. so i can charge this camera while live streaming? just to clarify.
Can i have a list of things that i need to use in church?
I want to buy it.
Thanks a lot for the video!! Great affordable tips!!
I using the Rode Wireless GO Mic System - what would be a simple encoder to use. We have a small church plant that is currently livestreaming. Need to improve our sound.
You mentioned plugging the Rode mic into the audio output on the sound desk but you didn't actually show where it is. We have a Heath & Allen 436 but i don't know where to plug the Rode mic in. Can you help?
Do you also recommend the bmd pocket when ur camera is like 100 feet (30 meters) away from the live stream computer? and what if you want to move the camera around in front of the stage, wont HDMI like fall out? what is then a great solution for the same price as the BMD pocket?
would love to hear your opinion.
Hi Brady, do you maybe have any recommendations for camcorder up to 500$ for church streaming?
great video Brady, super helpful and relevant! :D
What do you think about ptz Sdi cameras for church? (PTZOptics). Do you have a video for this option? Thanks Brady for your ministry.
Question: Our church has only a Canon m100 which doesn't have an audio input... Can we still use a wireless audio connected into our laptop while the camera is also connected with the laptop through a video capture card? I mean will the sound synch?...
Would you be able to do a video using your best choice ptz camera setup? Due to the layout of our church we would prefer to have something mounted and would need remote controls for it. Thanks in advance!
Not a fan of PTZ cameras!
@@prochurchtools I have watched you for quite awhile and appreciate your insight and expertise, would you be open to sharing your reasons for your aversion to ptz? Our reasoning is ability to mount centrally and control remotely (pan tilt for choir and specials). Setups you have shown have a need for the camera to be close at hand but our sound/computer area is in the back corner (I know, not ideal) and video from just that point would always seem off kilter, not to mention take up space in the aisle. Thanks in advance!
Hey Brady. I'm wrestling with getting a decent feed to UA-cam of our services. I have a Canon xa50, and get the audio from our Behringer x32. The audio sounds good when I check the recording on the SD card (it isn't mixed really well, but that has more to do with our tech training), but the audio on the livestream is awful. It is especially bad during worship, and sounds really garbled. Where you the disconnect be between the livestream and the recorded version? I'm connecting the camera to my Macbook Pro using the Camlink 4K, and am sure to select the Camlink for both audio and video in UA-cam. My guess is that it has something to do with the internet capabilities, but I was wondering if there could be something else I'm missing.
Thanks for your content. I sure helps a lot of us in huge ways.
What's a good tripod for the black magic camera?
