    Of course more is better. Unfortunately not every state allows mags > 10 rounds. In those scenarios, folks need to train so that muscle memory will kick in if more than one mag is needed. Carry what you can and train.

    • @ADJ1229
      @ADJ1229 6 місяців тому +14

      No I don't. I have 2 shield mags and one of them just failed unexpectedly. It lost all spring tension. It was replaced. I imagine if I had called on that gun on the worst day of my life. The bulk of the engineering of a modern semi-automatic handgun is centered around the magazine. When you change the magazine to an aftermarket one you no longer have Glock's legendary reliability. That's not worth the 50% increase in capacity for a gun that may or may not function as the manufacturer designed it. Besides if you've got 8 rounds in your gun you'll have enough ammo for most engagements.@@dariuskincaid

    I agree and disagree. We don’t need people who can’t hit with 10 rounds squeezing off 20 rounds in the street. Those rounds have to be accounted for. More rounds you shoot means more times you’ve missed.

    • @Tactical_0ni
      @Tactical_0ni 6 місяців тому +4

      This right here. The thought of 10+ rounds just subconsciously gives people the false sense of security that if they miss its okay cause you got extra rounds. Vs training yourself & being proficient of your shots cause you know you only have 10 rounds. People first thought should be avoiding & escaping the dangerous scenario anyways not engage & prepare for a gun fight. The point of CCW is self defense lol seems like many forgot what that means.

Your CCW should be the gun you're most proficient with period. Sure having more rounds compensate for when the adrenaline kicks in. But the whole point of a CCW is for self defense. Your first priory is escaping the situation. Guys here be acting like they wanna get into a gun fight first smfh. Some states are allowed 10 rounds anyways so what are those suppose to do then? Every point you made is valid. But in my opinion I prefer subcompacts because i don't see carrying a 4" and longer barrel all day. It's the comfort for me that keeps me away from full size guns. I carry a 26 with 15 rounds. And that's a little big some times. I thought these micros the 43x and hellcat pro were the best things since sliced bread but the more I shoot them the more I don't like them. They're great for carry. But I prefer to shoot my 26 all day over them. To me a subcompact with a baseplate is the perfect set up.

    I'm glad you're bringing up some solid points. Most people SHOULD carry how they live and train more. Have tools dedicated for certain roles is a must. I'll never rule out single stack pistols because they have their role. The question should be: what role does it play in your life. Plus, adjust clothing size for firearms does help. Above all, train. All of this and that on the Internet is "theory"; training will weed out what works and what doesn't.

That .380 is a primary for me when I’m working, but when I’m not working it’s either 10rd .40 S&W, 16 rd 9mm, or 6rd .357 magnum. I completely agree with your statement about Chinese-made goods or even just "affordable " goods. Look at how they talk about companies like PSA or Aero or anyone that isn't charging 2k for a firearm but will drive the hell out of Toyota trucks. However, I've gotten into larping and started building my kit and there might be some arguments made for things like nylon used to make plate carriers and belts ect with how night vision makes it illuminate. On the flip side as more info comes out about the war in Ukraine we see soldiers and mercenaries using gear that is frowned upon because it's made in China or steel body armor and those are no no's according to the community.

    Well when you live in a state where by law its only 10 per mag and a felony per extra bullet then I'm taking the 10. But if this wasn't the case then i'd absolutely carry more. No reason not to when the criminals don't care about laws and have over 10.

    I don’t know how this video popped up but I agree 😂 people over exaggerate their abilities greatly you’d think they’re John wick with his glock26/hk or something & even try to justify crap like 5-6rd revolvers or 6-7rd pistols lol. I’m in Memphis crime is extremely bad all they seem to use lately is extended Glocks, Draco’s, AR pistols. And they normally run in groups to go fucking with people. For this reason G17 is my primary carry big gun small caliber & can take the 30 when I’m at home if I can’t get to my rifle

    It would be interesting to study cases where Civilians fired *more* than 10 rounds in a public self defense scenerio. Alot of questions, such as were they charged w/ public endangerment?
    I know in many home defense cases its very common to dump a whole mag.
    I’d always want as much firepower and capacity as I could hold but still curious(for curiosity sake) as to how many citizen civilians have ever *needed* it and if so, under what circumstances and how they were subsequently dealt w/ by the law.

    Todays criminals dont normally carry on body its usually a man purse or backpack and they'll carry anything they can get if they're already prohibited from ownership that being said I know alot of people who will not carry a gun unfortunately it seems most people pre plan attacks on weak targets but when their time comes they're not ready and it's usually over the dumbest things 😢 let's make a change it would be nice to carry a gun for protection against things like animal attacks instead of those in our own communities

    Sometimes I carry a 5 shot revolver in 357 mag but I usually carry .38 special +p in it when I do carry it.. But also a lot of the time I carry a Glock 26 with 10-12 rounds.. & either way I’m not really worried about being out gunned.

    It sounds like you've done a lot of research and watched a lot of video... can you point to specific cases where having more than 10 rounds made a difference in the outcome of an encounter? Or when civilian defense encounters required tactical re-loads?

    • @dariuskincaid
      @dariuskincaid  6 місяців тому +1

      Pretty much every mass shooting in the last 5 years.. I mean the Lakewood Church shooting footage was released not too long ago go take a look at that footage!

    • @tbaker2k
      @tbaker2k 6 місяців тому

      Yeah. I did see this.
      I guess I thought you were making a different point.
      If I'm not mistaken, the shooter in Lakewood was encountered by and killed by armed security guards at the church. And I thought the assertion of your video was that armed citizens needed to have more than 10 rounds. I didn't realize you were including in that people who are paid, trained and hired to protect a other humans.
      I guess my thinking is...
      In a situation like this, if my job is not to protect the church property, as a normal civilian, my priority COULD BE to get to safety and call for trained people to respond (i.e. police, security, etc.)
      I don't think this example represents a case where an armed civilian needed more than 10 rounds in a defensive shooting. I haven't found a case, but I thought you might have insight I don't and that's why I asked.
      I do take the idea of self defense seriously and so I want to make sure I'm seeing all sides.

      I’ve been conceal carrying for over 13 years and I live in California.
      I’ve never had to use it and I really don’t even feel less prepared with have a 10rd mag with a 10rd backup.
      I have a few 17rd mags from freedom week years back.
      High Capacity mags would be great but it’s not a deal breaker.
      If I need more than 20 rounds in a self defense situation?
      I was targeting it was an assassination attempt. IMO

    • @eyesnearstactical
      @eyesnearstactical 5 місяців тому

      Facts! Conceal Carry insurance is a money grab, particularly in states with harsh gun restrictions like California, NY State, Illinois, DC, etc..
      If you find yourself in a situation where you have to defend yourself just simply have any decent attorney that can read case law.
      My daughter is a lawyer and this from her mouth.
      So I don’t buy any of that crap!
      Great insights. 👍🏾

    Carrying A Gun With 10 Rounds Or Less In 2024 Is Wild!
    Most folks are out of touch with reality when it comes to capacity since no one is going to even get through the first mag or revolver cylinder let alone reload in a five second gunfight. Its over in five seconds. You don't need all that extra ammo but carry it if it makes you more confident. Yes there is that less than one percent chance of multiple threats and a longer gunfight and that is why we carry reloads and don't stake our lives on averages. If you live in gangland then I can see you needing that extra ammo but not the average person. So carry as many rounds as you think you might need for situations in your area. Bear in mind that if you fire more than two or three rounds at one or two threats then you will be held responsible for those rounds in court as a lawyer is attached to every bullet. Lawyers and juries are not going to be understanding if you spray and pray. The average person faces one or two threats in an extreme close range short quick five second gunfight while the above average person living in gang and crime ridden areas faces a greater chance of multiple threats and a fifteen to thirty second gunfight. So the average person should carry a minimum of twelve rounds while eighteen rounds would be better. The above average person should carry a minimum of twenty rounds while thirty would be better.

    All of carry pistols have 15 round mags minimum. Even my MC9, Hellcat and Shield + come with 10-13 round mags but I carry with the 15 rounders. My Hellcat Pro and PDp have 15 rounds and home defense all have 15 and over. I totally agree... and the China and Turkey thing cracks me up. Most of the guns people are carrying are foreign. It's just elitism
