For those wondering, just compared the v7 pro and v7+ pro side by side, and I saw a pretty key difference. The v7 pro has an elastic material woven into the canopy that goes over the top of the foot, which makes it stretch a lot. For the v7+, they removed the elastic bands and so it's just the synthetic upper material there. For me, this meant that there was a ig difference on lock-down between both models. With the v7 pro, I could not tighten it enough because the elastic material would just stretch too much. With the v7+, the tightening of the laces works more like a traditional boot and feels pretty secure.
I'm wearing these in Turf, True to size, so the lockdown is incredible. If talk about turf football boots, these are my top1, the upper IMO are the same as the FG, everything's fine (form, fit, feel,...)
I got these thanks to your initial review. I got mine in AG due to playing on turf almost exclusively. I had durability issues after a few wears where the soleplate began to separate on one boot. Luckily, i got a full refund. Overall, best boots I've ever worn because they're so comfy. Im a GK so I'm more focused on finding a comfy boot what provides lockdown and traction versus on-ball feel since I'm not always touching the ball or worried about shaping passes as much.
Interesting to hear you say you especially enjoy pinging with these. That's been my experience, too. I presume it's the canopy over the metatarsal that does it. I'm experiencing soleplate durability issues with mine, but I have the AG and TF plates and exclusively play on AG, so I can't judge how the FG plate holds up on real grass. Likely just fine.
I normally play on AG. So if i were to play once a day on an AG pitch, should I get the AG version for the studs and durability, or should I get the FG version (i am scared it is gonna rip quickly from the turf)
FG works prefectly fine for me even on a bad AG you can feel studs tho about 2 hours you can definitly survive with no problem but 3+ hours yeah its better to take them off for a while
Love these boots and have been my go to from the v7 and now the v7+. Super comfortable straight away and haven't had any blisters or issues wearing these. Look forward to when the v8 comes out to see what they do next!
Hi Noah, Thanks for the video! I had an issue with the V7 Pro wide that they felt really comfy out of the box, but loosened with time and eventually I couldn't tighten them enough (I ran out of laces as the two ends of the canopy would just touch together, if that makes sense), so I they became too loose and not enough lockdown after 6-7 sessions. The smaller size was too small. Do you think the same would happen with the V7+ pro wide? Does the upper stretch a lot? Edit: if I'm having this issue, should I try the standard width? I assume the only difference is the amount of material on the upper?
@@NoahCavanaughThanks! I appreciate the reply! Since you have a wide foot, is there any reason in particular you decided to go for the standard fit rather than the wide fit?
Half a size up sounds right. I attempted to try on the pair they had on display at Dicks which was half a size down, and I couldn’t even get my foot all the way in.
Should have listened to you :P went tts now having hard time. Bought tts for 2E size and was fine, so tried with regular width and it is way tooo tight.
Got the old tekelas and they give me real heel problems, do you reckon these will be similar or is the heel a lot different ? I know you mentioned it’s slightly better than the tekela but didn’t want to risk buying these and they didn’t fit
I tried Furon V7+ in my size and it seemed like the length was perfect with even some spare space but the upper was pressing on my toes. Was also wondering if this will break in/stretch.
Hey man so I just got some shoes like these and I was wondering if they stretch a lot after breaking them in cause I’m debating to keep them into my true to size 9.5 and you said to go a half size bigger and I don’t know if I should or shouldn’t return them or keep them, and overall they fit me pretty tight from the width and the heel but length is good, what’s your opinion do you think they will loosen up throughout time after using them, and I’m just worried that if I get them size bigger they will stretch a lot
I remember trying that silver color of the v7 and even though I loved the upper and the softness, I found them to fit my foot really weird like they didn’t seem to fit properly… ended up returning them. Really a bummer they didn’t work for me…
If he's with the same club as last season, he plays in the third tier of the US soccer/football pyramid. Flower City Union. They are currently their league's (NISA) title holders.
I’m a size 7.5uk on my mercurial Vapor 14 elites. I’m looking to get the AG version of the furon v7+ pro, would you recommend true to size or go half a size up?
@@NoahCavanaugh interesting I saw the bootwizards vid on this boot and he said going true to size will be difficult in the first few wears of the boot but after you’ll be rewarded once the boots settle in. Going half a size up can mean it’s a little loose when it comes down to lock down. I have the choice between these boots or spending £60 more and getting the phantom gx 1 elite AG. What would you go for?
I believe he wears the standard version. Keep in mind I have super wide feet and the 2E version didn’t help me because the sole plate isn’t any wider, just more upper material.
Wouldn’t recommend these for people with REALLY wide feet. In my case my foot hangs over the sole plate a lot in the forefoot and the upper has no structure to it which causes issues. Most people can wear them though.
In my opinion, super-wides should go with Japanese boot brands exclusively -- they actually offer wider soleplates. New Balance soleplate width does not change between the 'standard' and 'wide' variants, the only difference is a few more millimeters of upper material.
I would say that these are best for flat feet as opposed to wide.. My toes are still a tad bit scrunched but the comfort from ball of the foot back is immaculate

Thanks bro! One of my favorite boots right now. Based on the most recent pod with the Justin and Colby, these go in "Great" for me.

Same, the turf ones are the best on the market. Just wish they put out more colors

This or phantom gx 2 elite for wide foot noah???
I reckon you'll get more width from the GX2 by a bit but both will be suitable.

Yeah 1/2 size up is the way to go!
I saw your video with the x speedportal and i wanted to ask how you can compare the sizing of those shoes, are they similar?

Reckon deez nuts
If it helps: The original Tekela v4 (not plus) gave me heel problems after extended play. The Furon v7+ I'm wearing now does not.
I reckon these are better, just make sure you get the correct size!
Any durability issue for the upper? Heard that the coating wore off easily
Did you watch the video mate? There's a whole section on durability and build quality...
Just got the New Balance Furon V7+ and got my size. They are really tight does anyone know if they will stretch over time or if I should return them?
As I said in the video mate, it's best to go up 1/2 size with both the Tekela and the Furon 🤝
I tried Furon V7+ in my size and it seemed like the length was perfect with even some spare space but the upper was pressing on my toes. Was also wondering if this will break in/stretch.
Did they stretch over time?? Thinking about buying them
Is it the width that's lacking or the length ? do you think it's still neccesary to size up with 2e ?
Length! That's why I go up 1/2 size to get the perfect length
