Those guys often get overlooked because of the obvious talents up front, but there is no one on earth who can play like Butch Trucks. Him and Jaimoe together is every bit as important to the ABB sound as Duane and Dickey were.

Was lucky enough to see both Duane & Greg with the band - live in concert at the end of March, 1971 in Delaware, Ohio (OWU) a few weeks after Live at the Fillmore East was recorded. They arrived 2 hours late due to a heavy snowstorm in Northern Ohio. One equipment truck with a set of drums was stuck in a drift so we had to scramble to get them another set of drums. Great concert !

Amazing to see Barry on the bass. He died only a week later right around the corner where Duane met the end only a year earlier. It would have been amazing what could have been if Duane and Barry had stayed with us even 5 years longer. The band was at their peak, and still did incredible things post D&B but who knows what could have been? We'll never know, and just get to enjoy the small sampling of their immense talents that they were able to share in the brief window of their lives. Gone too soon.

For all the guys like my Father. He was a family guy, but also a truck driver and sowed some wild oats. 'So to Speak',. I always love my dad who died young at 39 years old. Things could have been so much different. Miss him all my life.

Duane an Berry was a big loss, Dickey was there to continue. There’s only 2 left of the original members Jaimoe & Dickey! Hope your still playing ! Your son Is almost as good as you♥️ Allman Brothers Band ♥️

I remember the very time I heard this song back in 1973 I was only 13 years young and the reason it brings back so many memories is because that was around the same time I started smoking marijuana with a neighbor of mine and yes those were the good ole days when I didn't have a care in the world...R.I.P."DICKIE BETTS" for an AWESOME song and may you GOD rest your soul 🙏🙏🙏

Dickey just pheonimal - and Berry's pulsing bass was just the best. There is a reason why the Allman tunes continue to be played 4 decades later. They created such memorable music that never gets old.

There will never be another band like The Allman Brothers! They were the foundation of Southern Rock. To me they really took off when they added Dickie Betts! Can't get enough Allman Brothers music...I remember riding around with Allman Brothers on the radio as a highschool kid. The girl I married was also crazy about the Allman Brothers and we've been married for 44 years. Good times !
