Dickey is a huge loss. Have you heard blackberry smoke?
Obviously early video equipment and it shows but I thank God someone had the ability to tape this classic performance.
The audio was pretty good but the video not so much, nice to focus on Dickey but would have liked to see Gregg and Chuck too.
Rest In Peace Dickie. You gave us such wonderful jamming music!! December 12, 1943 - April 18, 2024.
I used to work 3rd shift with my mom at Columbia Bicycle and we rode together and every morning coming home Rambling man would be on the radio and me and my mom would sing along watching the sun come up. Well, she passed away 6 years ago and every time I hear that song I remember those days. I miss mom and now Dickey. Thanks for the great memories, Dickey Betts!

We are so privileged to grow up with this music and musicians like Mr. Betts RIP
Saw him in concert, 1971 in South Carolina. I was 16.
Betts really rocked that guitar!
Hats off to Dickey- what a master. Duane was a natural, killer blues player, but Dickey was the master of the major diatonic scale…what a treat to have two genius players in one band. Wish I could’ve seen them in their heyday.
He was even awesome dickey I mean in the layla jam sessions

RIP Dickey Betts
In 1972 my brother and I were in junior bowling leagues. The song was so popular, the bowlers plugged juke box full of quarter's to play Rambling Man twenty consecutive times!
Jukebox’s also every little bar and grill had a jukebox and one or two pool tables and this was on all jukeboxes the good old days or at least I thought so lol
RIP, Dickey. Rock on...
R.I.P. Dickey Betts
R.I.P. Dickey. Jamming with Duane, Berry, and Gregg again....
My dad took my brothers & I to see Dickey Betts when we were young… he would play at a venue on the Boardwalk in Ocean NJ… couldnt truly appreciate it until i was grown… but i can’t thank him enough… we are a very musical family so i was just happy to see live music that everyone seem really excited about… especially my old man. I cherish those memories… RIP Dickey, a true American Guitar Legend…
You know you're great when you sound better live than in the studio
They sped up that studio recording. It changed the key from G to G# and made his vocals a little nasal.
@@theonlyrobotit was tuned half step down to a flat actually
You will never, ever, have a perfect live performance than this, guitar solos, vocals, biased? Judge for yourselves, just perfect!!
No doubt it’s a great performance but it’s hard to argue that it tops Skynyrds performance with FreeBird at Knebworth. But both are classics
That was excellent Dickey sending my condolences to the family. Thank you for the music. Rest in peace
RIP Dickey, you and the rest of the brothers are jamming tonight ! Thanks for the memories
I think the only original member left is Jaimo!?
🤔😢
There will never be another. So thankful to have grown up with this music.
One of the first 45s that I ever bought. I loved the guitar work on it--and it holds up beautifully.
Dickey Betts, aka “The Ramblin’ Man” will be missed. He was a very talented guy and a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. What an amazing song and incredible guitar licks. R.I.P. Dickey Betts.
I just listened to Blue Sky and Ramblin’ Man tonight. ❤them.
Sat in a Cafe before daylight one morning in 1972 listening to this on on the juke as I had my coffee. Every time I hear it I remember that morning.
Thank you, Dickey, for all the music that you gave to all of us to enjoy. I remember being an 8 yr old "rolling down HWY 41 " with my Mom in Sarasota listening to this. Fly High Dickey . We love you and will miss you
Here is to Dickie Betts. Thank you for the music. Play in heaven.

Talented guy. Prayers to all mourning his loss.
🎸✌️💜🌄
The older I get the more and more this kind of lead guitar just makes your day ❤
I remember the very time I heard this song back in 1973 I was only 13 years young and the reason it brings back so many memories is because that was around the same time I started smoking marijuana with a neighbor of mine and yes those were the good ole days when I didn't have a care in the world...R.I.P."DICKIE BETTS" for an AWESOME song and may you GOD rest your soul 🙏🙏🙏
Damn, I lived in the best music generation
Rip brother
This is classic rock at its best... And it's being sung by a classic rock hero... One of my favorite songs to listen to riding my Harley as I bar hopped
Been listening to Dicky a lot. Sure miss him and the rest of the boys.
2024 the rambler has finally passed away today. Rest in peace brother you voice will live forever.
That guitar solo is an epic journey in itself, a work of art!
In addition, the pianist is a monster
God bless you Dickey. Now one of the greatest bands are together playing music in heaven. 😢💔

GOD Bless Dickey Betts😞. Rest In Heavenly Peace 12/12/1943-4/18/2024🙏🏾✝️✌🏾🕊️🎸🎶🤠
Rip 🪦 my favorite betts performance
The backbone of the Allman Brother's Band that deserves far more positive recognition. Without his lead guitar play, where would the Bro's Band be?
damn right.
I’d argue Butch and Jaimoe were the backbone. There was no other drum sound like that in any popular music back then. Those guys often get overlooked because of the obvious talents up front, but there is no one on earth who can play like Butch Trucks. Him and Jaimoe together is every bit as important to the ABB sound as Duane and Dickey were.
Dickey saved their bacon, after Duane accident
RIP DICKEY BETTS ❤😢 THANK YOU
They're gettin ABB back together in heaven. RIP Mr. Betts.
RIP Dickie. 😪
One of the rawest tones. All your hearing is the guitar ladies and gents. No filtery garbage. Pure tone, pure skill. The god Dicky.
So blessed to grow up w/ some of the greatest musicians, guitar players, songs ever. As soon as I hear this I'm brought back to my teen yrs in the 70s. Good times. Thanks for the great music. RIP Dickey Betts.
Rest in Peace Dickie Betts. You were the real deal.
RIP Dicky Betts. Thanks for the music. You and the Duane and Greg and all legends God bless
So cleanly played...Just a guitar, an amp and a mountain of talent.
So thankful I was able to see ABB in all their glory since 1970. Rest easy Dickey Betts and friends, and Thank You for the Music.
Rest in peace Mr. Betts. Thank you a lifetime of pure soulful music. I was fortunate enough to meet you and let you know what an inspiration you were to me and millions of other guitar players. He was as humble as you could be. IMO he never got the recognition he deserved. His contribution to music with his country flavored blues and the twin guitar harmonies is immeasurable. R.I.P.
RIP..great times!
Rest in Peace Dickey! Thank you for your gift of music all these years! Lord, you know it makes us high, when you turn your love our way! Turn your love his way now...
