Thanks for this great review. Just what I was looking for. Let me ask you: 1) Did you do anything special to the recordings? Yours is one of a few where the quality actually looks good and usable for my needs. I need to record in front of a digital whiteboard but the ones that I have seen so far, they look like 720p. For this reason, I was considering the dji pocket 3 instead, but your video is making re-think because I need this camera 75% studio and 25% outdoors. 2) In the app, when you drew the square to zoom in on your face, the zoom box size is predetermined or can you draw your own? This is important to me, that way I can pre-establish the frame for when I am in front of the white board. 3) You showed the camera changing the frame based on what it thought to be better, is there a way to turn that off? I would not want to be teaching in front of the whiteboard while it's changing the frame at inappropriate times. 4) Sometimes I am in front of the board and need to record vertically for Instagram. Is that possible natively in the camera? Thanks so much in advance. I would greatly appreciate your responses.
Hey, thank you so much! I'm glad it was helpful! To answer your questions I'll answer in the order you asked. Hope this helps! 1. No, I didn't do anything to the recordings other than manually set my exposure, aperture, and shutter speed in the cameras themselves. So what you saw was the raw look directly out if the cameras. Now, one thing to note is that I do have some pretty nice lights I use and lighting a shot properly can make a big difference. But as you saw, I didn't adjust the lights during this video, so there were times I was not lit well at all and it still did great. But when I was lit well, it looked pretty great. So overall they are pretty versatile condition wise while still maintaining a great look. 2. I believe you can adjust the size of the zoom box but until I go back in a verify, that's just an assumption. I'll have to check on that. But I'm pretty sure you can, I know there is a slider for how much you want to zoom and I think it'll apply to that setting as well. 3. Yes, you can turn this feature off, this was just the auto setting but there are others you can choose as well. 4. No, you can record vertically with this camera. You'd need to crop the footage down in post processing if you needed vertical aspect ratio. Hope this helps!
thanks for the review. The device is interesting, but there are no descriptions for many of the features. For example, it is clear that from the tablet you can set the camera to 3 position points. How can I do this from the remote control? Would you answer? It's probably very simple.
Hey, yes, you can set them from the remote. You just move the camera to the position you want to set as a point. Then press and hold the P1, P2, or P3 buttons on the controller. After a second or two it'll assign the current camera position to the button you selected.
@@EagleGarrett Thank you. I also guessed by analogy. and here's another thing - the remote control has been charging for 3 hours and the blue indicator does not go out. This is fine ?
When I first started watching your video I thought that umm he must like red just like me. Then you said your color is red. 😂 I just ordered the OBSBOT Tail Air on Oct. 27th my birthday gift to me. I can’t wait for the delivery. Thank you so much for the detailed demo. Also , I resonated with your channel name only because I Love the Majestic Bird the Eagle. It’s apparent you do too!Much Joy and Abundance. ☺️✨
Ohhh yeah, I love red. It's the best color! Haha glad we have another red fan here on the channel! And a fellow Eagle fan as well, super awesome! Eagles are so majestic indeed. Haha Happy birthday, hope you enjoy the Tail Air. Glad this video could be a help In the purchasing decision!
@@EagleGarrett More than that! I saw your guitars on one of your videos. I said oh my to myself because I play Bass Guitar when I’m not slacking. What a coincidence hay🤣
I have been looking at this camera for sports recording and live broadcasting too. Did you find a scoreboard option? Or would there be a way to add a scoreboard with your own graphics?
You could run this into a YoloBox Pro and get a Score board there. Or run these into OBS and set up your own scoreboard there too. Probably the easiest ways.
So just watching this video. I'm hearing about a NDI license. Is that required? What are the terms of that license? Do u have to purchase it just once or is that a license that needs renewing every now and so often? Also is it really necessary to have that license if you're mostly using the camera stationary?
So the NDI license is only if you want to use the NDI functionality. The camera can still be used as normal without the license. And you only have to buy it once. It's only for NDI connection through an ethernet port.
They can connect via HDMI which is pretty close to no latency. Even through NDI or USB it's not noticeable. Only issue you may run into is if your computer has processing limitations.
@@EagleGarrett I was going to run multiple cameras through a vision mixer, with fibre hdmi and reduce the resolution. I am doing live shows to large led screens and low light at times. What’s your thoughts on using the Tail Air before I buy? Thanks for any help you might give. Charlie Screens2Go
@@screens2go314 Great question! Unfortunately I haven't tested doing something like that but I don't know why it would be a problem. As long as your mixer can run the individual feeds, I don't think it'll be an issue. But again, I can't say for sure in this use case because I haven't actually tried it myself. So that's just my best guess.
@@EagleGarrett do you have a video on hooking the tail air into the ONS software and using the software? Or is there a streaming software that you recommend? Thanks so much for your help.
Yes! It's digital zoom but at 4k, it still looks good. And yes, you can control it on iPad as long as the OBSBOT Control Center app is available on there.
I'm not sure about Mevo, but yes, you can control each camera from the app. You do have to switch which camera you're controlling of course, but once you select the right camera, you have full control of it.
Most people who are looking at these already know what ot costs amd just want to know if its worth it. So we talk about the product first, then talk about the cost.

Would the Tail Air or the Tiny 2 be better for live-streaming music?
Probably the Tail Air due to its portability and slightly better performance.
