OK, I've some questions that I didn't see answered in the video (nor did I see answers on the product's Amazon page). This is the second video I've seen where none of the below questions were answered. 1. When the battery can no longer hold a charge, is the battery warrantied so that it can be replaced? Batteries have finite lifespans. I'm assuming it is non-removable. Maybe a $500 camera should have a removeable battery so that it can be easily replaced when the need arises. 2. I saw the camera on a stand in the video. It has a standard tripod mount? 3. How long does a battery charge last? 4. How long does the battery take to fully charge (approximate time)? 5. Does the gimball have a full range of motion? 360 degrees? 6. Are there any gotchas (such as a forced subscription fee)? If there's a subscription fee, is it tied to functionality? In other words, do you lose camera functionality if you opt out of the subscription? 7. Is usage of an SD card mandatory? If I'm using it as a streaming desk camera, I'm assuming that an SD card is not mandatory, but may be mandatory if you're out and about with the camera. *YES!! You answered this question!* An off-the-cuff question: DJI Osmo Pocket 3 or this camera? They're roughly the same price, even though the Pocket 3 is more of an action cam. IMO, DJI may be the better trusted product that probably has better support - I'm betting DJI has a battery replacement program for their Pocket products.
Weirdly enough, I do really love the OBS Tail Air. I became fixated on the YoloBox and went down a quick merchandise hole. I love the idea of a product like the YoloBox, though the price is an ouch at $1,298 USD. I get it, though - specialized equipment The Feelworld L2 is a similar, but doesn't record at all and is $539 USD. Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini is an HDMI live switcher that is a decent competitor with YoloBox, but the Atem would need an external monitor to go with the device. Currently at $214 USD (Normally twiche that), is a good value. It's just a matter of price versus device needs. Even if it ended up a little bulkier, I'd probably go with the Atem and get a monitor with it. I get a new toy to add to my set up, and I don't break the bank.
You are Nutty which is why I subscribed. Great Energy !! Waiting on my Obsbot Tail Air. Can’t wait for it to be delivered. I love your review. Will watch over and over like I’ve done already. 😂 TIL later. Much Joy☺️✨
11:09 You can rent like these vans mostly for drone's they already come with some tech equipment gadget stuff, they are called command centers or something.
DAMN, and I was just thinking of picking up the Tiny 2. DEFINITELY gonna pick this up, I've considered getting an Obsbot Me for mobile streaming (working on a mobile setup to play my bass walking around). And the bandwidth thing is a huge plus. Hope to run into you at the con, I want to see how well it tracks dancing! And I have anxiety too so I'll try to make it as painless and awkward free as I can. :') Just don't be alarmed if you see a guy walking towards you with a bass on his shoulder.
haha same! I was about to buy tiny2 and tail air just came out.. but I will still buy tiny2 for webcam (for my desk set up haha) also want to buy Tail air sooo bad!!!!
hhaha this is so good. i use a obsbot (the first one) but you deffo convinced me to save up for this one aswell.. so much better indeed over HDMI :o such a high price tho,, but it's like a small computer on it's own.. so... there goes my savings money haha
I can't wait for a nutty AI camera livestream in real life. Dress up in your favorite tinfoil hat to really complete the insane look of paranoia from all the cameras everywhere.
I was very tempted to pick one up during their crowdfunding campaign. But the price was still just too high for me. There are lots of amazing upgrades though, and I've really enjoyed an older model of their's: the Tiny 4K. Few notes for people: Wireless connection with imperceptable latency is possible - but you need the NDI package for the Tail Air. You can do wired NDI with an ethernet adapter, which will also provide POE - and that is yet another add-on. The ND filter kit for Tail Air is so useful if you stream events! Another add on. And, there we go. Many of the valuable upgrades are actually add-ons. Once you pop them all in your cart... you might as well consider getting a proper ptz camera vs a juiced-up web cam. I like what these guys are doing though! Hopefully, they can get the price down. I find the Tail Air too expensive for the pro-sumer market, but it definitely has all the right features.
That's one expensive over the top camera's for sure dude, looks good but you can buy some amazing top brand camera's that could almost do everything that can do to be honest. you could probably even buy a home security camera and do most of those features for like half the price i feel companies are taking advantage of streamers again just like they use to with the RGB lighting. Come on security camera companies, give nutty some of you product for him to try to compete against over hyped streamer products hehe. as always thanks for sharing your content though Nutty always a legend
I saw their crowdfunding campaign for this and was tempted. I'm glad to see you demo it! Do you have any info on how secure it is to be using it wirelessly? That's the tech-y part that I'm not too familiar with yet
It's pretty cheap for a HDMI PTZ camera..... Try looking at the other products from companies like PTZ Optics, Canon etc. These are not really designed for streaming but for 4k broadcast - usually things like churches and other things. In that market it's not that versatile at all but it is cheap
For $500 I expected a full HDMI port, not a micro one. I may be nitpicking but that's a deal breaker for me right away. Looks impressive and the feature set is very good; but yeah, lack of full HDMI at that price is wild.
Hi there, thanks for your interest in OBSBOT Tail Air! Regarding the HDMI, we weighed the size of the machine and the interface, and we could only choose Micro HDMIi for a better size. Cameras on the market such as Sony Zv E1, and GoPro all use Micro HDMI, but the price is much higher.
@@OBSBOT Hey! I appreciate you guys taking the time to reply to my comment. The HDMI port thing is because I've read constantly that micro HDMI is a fragile port that seems to break kinda often in DSLRs or webcams that have it so I've been taking that into consideration (probably as a nitpick of mine) during my research for a new camera for streaming.

Can't get link to open?
The link goes to a Kickstarter page 😯
Nutty makes great, informative content, but I don't think he gets enough credit for the added (awkward) humour. Information need not be dull!
Nutty blinding me with a laser is fun LOL
This thing is pretty cool. As a mirrorless camera enthusiast I approve!

Hey! How works the camera? Is really good? Or just feature that you don’t need to make good content??
Thanks!…
If he thinks that's a large camera wait till he discovers a Logitech Rally
I’m a yolobox user, wanting to add a decent cam to my setup. Looks like the tail air will be worth the investment!
4:49 the next twenty seconds got a hearty lol or two

@@kevindeleon3282 .. dang I'm honestly still gonna get a 2 haha. And this
Great video, Nutty! Thanks
I know the white supremeacy remark was a joke. But the way to get our OK sign back is to just let this fallacy die.

The remote designed to be used with a display, but they have delayed the release of the display.
Hey Nutty, does the move video source filter in OBS work on this when connected via NDI?
NDI... Now that got me interested...

I will 100% say hi if I see you there man. Have a day
If i would be a bit smaller it might be pretty cool camera for irl streaming
It can connect via wifi to OBS, so can you use this to IRL stream? Can it connect at a distance? And you use it to live stream away from the PC?

Of all the shills on UA-cam, youre like my 3rd favorite shill, bro.
This is probably what all those Korean booba dancing streamers use on Twitch, if you know what I mean 🤣
its a fun vider, that I actually care about
Would it be possible to use this as an irl streaming camera?
Interested however if I can't buy from Amazon, I'll have to wait. I've hand horrible luck otherwise. They look solid though.
is performance good when used as a zoom camera? Thank you.
Can we use regular usbC to rj45 with power delivery?
Hey can you link me the stand you are using with it?
I want one of those camera...but right now I can't justify that kind of money for just one cam. Great review though.
Funny stuff.
why no animals nutty? not having animals is nutty to me!
So, I've searched and searched, and can't get an answer on this or any other OBSBOT product: is it possible to aim the camera straight up?
how long is the battery life?
Just wish it had NDI tally. Other than that it’s amazing for live streams
hi good information can you convert HDMI to SDI for long run and convert to HDMI into ATEM pro
If using it on PC I have to install the app on my phone?
Since it has an ethernet adapter, can I use it via my network without wifi? I can run a 100 foot Cat 6 cable that would work better than wifi
Outside????😂😂😂😂😂
how about u do that crazy 3 tail air irl stream for twitchcon

So uh, what does that say on 9:09 in the ceiling?
Does it have optical zoom?
It's actually a cheap webcam compared to other good ptz options.
The zoom is just digital, correct?
Holy shit
How well does this do following the action for sports?
it works good there's lots of video using this video to take video of dancing or running dogs, tennis..
🗣SHILL!!! 😂 jk
I want one even though I definitely don't need one 😫
0:33 why is it a sus way to hold it 😊?
It’s crap. Doesn’t work with 2019 Intel Mac Pro. The app isn’t compatible.
Fam get a windows
5:10 White supremacy symbol?!? Back in my day that meant "okay". I hate the 2020s!!

I’m definitely going to try this on my podcast and try to replace the Logitech Brio I have been using for the past 4 years…
quality at 1:15 is shitty tho
