Thanks for your reaction and coming back to Voice Play! This one is stunning but you would also love their cover of "In The Air Tonight". Speaking of sexy Geoff, Geoff has recently released his December cover of "Carol Of The Bells" and it is so stunning it is bringing reactors to their knees and is being viewed more than 100,000 times a day since it was released on You Tube- please react to it!
Geoff is actually quite modest. But I think the rest of us can agree he is dreamy (wait until you see his Christmas video, Carol of The Bells! A bass cover!) and a great guy. I'm glad this one won, I voted for it. It's so passionate and powerful. Cesar being the bookend for this, sheer genius! Eli really arranged this so well! 💚❤
@@melvinthinks Hold on to your hat! With Geoff and VoicePlay, just when you think they can't impress you anymore, they do! VP's Christmas song this year, "Zat You, Santa Claus?" is a ton of fun! If you haven't heard the Louis Armstrong original, give it a listen first. It kinda scared me as a kid ( I was a wimpy little girl) but I love VP's version!❤💚
Thanks for this reaction to VoicePlay. (Note: VP & Geoff each dropped their Christmas tunes this past Friday. Geoff's is averaging about 100K views per day since it dropped. Judging by his album art, the Geoffquakes did some damage and "dropped" is the correct description. LOL)
Layne and Geoff started their first a cappella group in high school, and though the names have changed, there's been on on-going group ever since. So there really wasn't a time "before" voiceplay. This one was arranged by Eli.
Awwww... you're back to Voiceplay ❤ This cover always makes me cry, they bring so much EMOTION 😢 Thanks for your reaction 🫶🏻 P.S. VoicePlay (and Geoff too) keep their lyrics very family friendly, if there is the f-bomb, they change it or like in "Good 4 u" Layne does an amazing "zip up" sound 😂 For more "beautiful Geoff" (I'm totally on the same page with you on that 😉🤫), I would suggest his new release "Carol of the bells" ❤
@melvinthinks yeah, feeling fine, thanks for asking 🫶🏻 Hope you're doing fine too? And that you are NOT DEAD on the inside 👀😱🙏🏼 Since I became a mom 12 years ago, I'm very emotional 🙈 Before I nearly never cried... but now... good Lord 🤦🏻♀️ Epic arrangements, sad lyrics, cute puppies... it all makes me cry 🫣🤣
It's good to cry, so I'm told by my partner. It's good to just let it all out from time to time, or else you end up like me! The only time I cry is through music or film. And definitely puppies. This is probably why I have anger issues 🤬
The fella at the beginning is Cesar De La Rosa. Don't worry, he's known for emoting like crazy whenever it's a sad song. He doesn't usually wear his hair in braids, so don't go by that if you want to memorize the guys' names and faces--usually it's either loose in a glorious crown of curls (like in Nothing Else Matters) or swept back and tied at the back all neat and tidy (like in Hoist the Colours, which it appears you haven't reacted to yet, but you totally should!)
Lol I told you on the Nothing Else Matters video that you would like this one. They pay homage to the original version while making it their own. I absolutely love this version.
So you are back to VoicePlay 🥰. Though this is kind of a sad song i love it. And every time i listen i want to reassure the guys that they are just perfect the way they are.
They keep the language in their videos family friendly and I appreciate that. 😊 I think Cesar was really feeling this song because from what I heard he had just lost a good friend to a hate crime shooting at a gay bar. 😢
How did I miss the poll?! I would definitely have voted for In The Air Tonight! (Also the other 3!). Hope you will still do the others? Great interpretation of a song that has literally been covered to death. You're great 😂. ⚘️🕊
I dunno how the community posts work with regards to impressions and appearing in viewers feeds tbh 🤔 It's very hit and miss and sporadic. The same happens to me on all the channels I subscribe to. But nevertheless, I will definitely be doing the other three at some point. It was just a matter of finding out which one you guys wanted to see first 😊
No Geoff has body dysmorphia issues where he never thinks he’s strong or ‘manly’ enough. Their verses all sort of highlighted their personal insecurities
I think it was more displayed in earlier years. He used to complain about his ‘spaghetti’ arms but also kind of spoof about working out in some of those older songs (Cheerleader and I Love Me). I think the spaghetti arms comment was regarding his 16Tons video?
Funny story, Geoff doesn't understand the hype about him, lol. He is so humble which just makes him hotter in my mind. He hasn't studied production. None of Voiceplay has but they have taught themselves as they go and they do everything but steady cam and the more advanced makeup themselves. Layne even owns a production company with Tony Wakim, a former voiceplay member and that is where they film the majority of their videos.
Tbh, there are so many quality online tutorials for almost everything nowadays, you can learn production, DAW's, mastering, editing, mixing on UA-cam. I studied it at college/uni, but I wish I had the free resources available to everyone nowadays. It's one of the many great things about the internet. Thanks for watching, Rebecca 😊
Actually while Layne doesn’t do SteadyCam for VP that is more because he can’t be on both sides of the camera at the same time. He has filmed some of Geoff’s solo works for him using the SteadyCam.
I'll be honest, I'm not a massive fan of traditional Christmas carols. I have already decided upon which Xmas songs I'm going to react to for week after next, and there might be a VP video in there 😜
Has anyone told you lately that you need to react to Carol of the Bells? You should react to Carol of the Bells. Geoff did a great job with Carol of the Bells. If I say it a couple more times, will you react to Carol of the Bells?
I absolutely love your rants they are perfect, it’s stuff we all think at some point. 😊 Now you really have to check out “Sexy Geoffs” new Christmas cover of “Carol of the Bells”, it’s on his personal channel. It’s an absolute masterpiece that will change your life!!!❤
I'm likely in a tiny minority. I feel "Creep" is about someone ordinary, feeling alone, and hence sung by one 'raw' voice. So rich arrangements, sung with exceptional technique destroy the context, reducing a masterpiece to mere words. (disagreement? 😀). Maybe the only cover I like is Paulina of "The Warning". She accompanies herself on piano. Her cover is *_Glorious._* _The Warning - Creep Radiohead Pau Cover_ ① Pau 'gets it'; loneliness, inadequacy, mood, not lush harmonies or technique 😭 Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to You and Mystery Girl. 🎅🎉 ☮ ① ua-cam.com/video/A6Y4XpBxjU0/v-deo.html
Oooh - you know I'm a BIG TW fan, and I haven't heard this yet. Pau is my favourite member in the band too. It's on my watch list 👍 If I don't hear from ya, have a lovely Xmas mate and thanks for all the cucumbers and support 😊
@@melvinthinks Thank You for Replying. Pau's cover is over 4 years old. IIRC, I'd only heard their old Metallica cover before I heard it. I feel it's one of the best covers of any song that requires empathy, 'emotional intelligence', complete engagement, not just technical ability. Pau's cover is brilliant. Folks might never guess it has anything to do with TW from the audio. I was thinking of tempting you with more cucumbers to react to those young musicians' (kids rock for kids) cover of Muse "Hysteria". How do you feel about that song? No point asking if you dislike it. Best Wishes to You and Mystery Girl. ☮
Hysteria is a great song and it's already on my list, mate 👍 I used to be a really big Muse fan. I'm not so keen on them nowadays, but I actually saw them at the London Astoria in 2000 and Coldplay were supporting! This was when they both really small, during the 'Showbiz' album era.
Do I dare admit that I like you? Well, your mustache is almost as nice as my husband's, so yeah, I suppose I can admit that I like you. Or at least I like your mustache 😉 And you let me call you young man, and that makes me feel old, and of course nothing else in the world makes me feel old 😂 So, um... I’m a little persnickety about swearing in music, and I think that if you’re going to swear in a song there’s got to be some kind of impact to when it’s used. Saying that - this song _needs_ that “fucking special,” rather than that “very special”. It takes all the edge and emotion out of this song when you say “very”
I have an extremely potty mouth, but I agree that in this song, it needs "fucking special" in it. It's having the coarse with the beauty. Even when Thom Yorke sings it, it's not the same without it.
Thanks for watching everyone 🙏👍

I already know what my VP Xmas song is and unfortunately it isn't this one. But I will be doing In The Air Tonight at some point next year.
Melvin, you are a funny chap. Keep up the reactions!
Don't encourage me - my ramblings could become more dangerous! 😆

I think this is the best harmonies I've heard from them so far in what is... 6 videos now? Really well done to the dudes 🤘
Agreed. Definitely a great arrangement and the harmonies are HUGE!

Nothing Else Matters seems so long ago now! 😆 It's crazy how you stumble upon bands in this UA-cam reactor journey thingy-me-bob. It's super fun too.

That's really sad about Cesar too if it's true 😥

Not sure I can say the same about my channel 😆

LOL!! You get a like just for singing "*Sexy Geoff" over and over again.
BTW, Sexy Geoff just released his cover of Carol of the Bells. Epic is probably the best descriptor.
I keep telling you all, one day, they will ask me to join their band 😆
There you go. I knew there was a reason why I liked you! 😂
Eli did this project which is his second. He'll be joining Geoff and Layne who alternate projects.

Geoff's Carol of the Bells will rip the soul from your body. You will be left on the floor curled up in a fetal position and begging for more.
