Reintroducing the context of this scene to a Stellaris Setting makes for a pretty interesting story tbh. An old empire, once a vassal to a ruthless and cruel empire that uplifted them in a gambit to win a local war. After their progenitor empire betrayed them, the young Kratos Empire conspired to overthrow its master and take its power. After the Empires that originally supported its war against the former Ares Empire realized that this one could be even worse and betrayed them too, the Kratos Empire waged war against all empires in the Olympian Federation and burned it down to cinders, reducing their entire corner of the galaxy to barren husk of its former self in the process.
Realizing its mistake too late, the Kratos Empire retreated back into its borders and eventually befriended another, more peaceful civilization that called themselves the Faye. The Faye were made up of refugees from a war in a part of the galaxy that the Olympian Federation did not reach. Quickly, they became close allies, and their newfound allies convinced the Kratos Empire to pursue a more peaceful life where they could prosper and leave a better mark on the galaxy. However, the Faye's time was short lived, and in their passing a new civilization was born: the Atreus Commonwealth. Kratos took them as a protectorate and began to teach them the basics of being a stellar civilization, although they still struggled with their own warlike ways.
Just as everything was beginning to look up for them both, a new challenger appeared: The Baldur criminal syndicate, expanding into Atreus/Kratos space in search of weak empires to profit off of. The Kratos Empire originally approaches them peacefully, hiding the existence of the Atreus Commonwealth and closing their borders, warning that any more intrusions will be met with war. But the Baldur Syndicate did not listen, and instead decided to fight over it, knowing that the Kratos Empire was hiding something they wanted. In the battle, The Kratos try to hold back their old warlike ways, but eventually fail, fighting back so ruthlessly that they dust off centuries-old Colossuses just to break Baldur's foothold in their space. But, as Syndicates are naught to do, they just came back after a decade.

Well damn, that’s pretty good. Guess it’s time to play Broken Shackles again.

A bit lazy but that's ok, it takes time to motivate yourself again.
