As a type 1 bipolar that has experienced psychosis, thank you so much for your comments. People really don’t understand how terrifying mania can be. And how embarrassing it is when you come out of it.

It’s taken years to undo the harm caused by my episodes. When I first got on meds, I missed the colors of the world I had seen during mania. I thought I had lost my creative side. But once I stabilized, the colors came back.
We have a culture that incentivizes hypomania while demonizing mania and psychosis. It’s a difficult dichotomy to navigate.

Hugs to you. My Dad was type 1 and also had mania with psychosis. Because I was younger it was so hard to conceptualize past how it affected me. I wish every single day that I could go back and be more understanding/kinder/more loving to him through that. I can't imagine how terrifying it must be to fo through that. Just know that there are people who see how beautiful and strong you are to keep making it back from that.

The mom who asked her daughter “is this what you want or is this what they’re telling you to want?” Is brilliant. Anyone who is an abusive relationship / cult has to realize what’s happening themselves. They’re already being controlled, so asking them questions to allow them to come up with their own answer (rather than forcing the truth into them) gives them a feeling of autonomy. It’s so important.

    1) when I was in law school I had a chance to meet with some victims of the nxivm cult. It was a very powerful experience. They were all highly educated people. One of them said something that has always stuck with me. She said “think about it the worst moment of your life. The lowest you’ve ever been. That is when they found me.” It makes total sense that someone in the lowest moment of their life would turn to anything promising them something better.
2)I’ve had a professional psychiatrist tell me that I’m actually bipolar because I told him sometimes my depression is better than others and I can actually clean my house.

Thank you for trying to help people understand bipolar disorder. My father has it and you are right, so many people misunderstand it. They think it means you have mood swings, but no. Mania is far more intense and noticeable. When my father is unusually manic, he talks REALLY fast and starts to “test” God by running into traffic or speeding uncontrollably in his car. He’s gone into psychosis a couple of times when he decided not to take his medication. During these times he opened 100 credit cards “to prove his sanity”, he spent his life savings on a luxury vehicle, he got married to someone he didn’t know and told his family “he will learn to love her maybe”, and he went on a purchasing frenzy which ended with hundreds of phones and tablets stashed in his closets. During his manic episodes he tries very hard to rationalize his impulses but you are right. It’s highly destructive behavior to himself and his family. And it is distinctly NOTICEABLE. When we were younger my siblings knew something was wrong but didn’t have words for it. We didn’t wonder- it was absolutely not normal!

The beginning of awareness that I was in an abusive relationship was with a couples counselor who had a shocked look on her face to almost everything my ex said in our first and only session. I think she knew we weren’t going to come back.
I would love to thank her for that someday.

I think this cult could only happen now, because we are at a unique time in which people are extremely lonely, lacking in social/emotional skills and awareness, and heavily indoctrinated into the idea of soulmates (not nearly as big 100 years ago).
Side note: The Moonies also believed that children produced by members were blessed or "free from original sin". The podcast Growing Up Moonie is by someone who grew up in that cult and the harm this narrative can have.

As the daughter of someone with bipolar disorder, TikTok’s interpretation of mental health drives me insane. My moms depression would leave me without being fed and calling to have her taken for help when she threatened suicide. Her mania would terrify me, even in the small moments of hyperactivity that appear positive the end of it could be pure anger and rage with actions that made no sense. It wasn’t just cleaning houses and watching sad movies.

RE: the culture in the US of being anti-science or anti critical thinking, what is doubly frustrating is the people that co-opt seemingly scientific concepts and terms to push their own agenda. I’m thinking specifically of the “gender critical” movement that like to say that they just care about “facts” and “science” although I’m sure there are others.

I've noticed young people educated within "Christian" fundamentalism use scientific words INCORRECTLY to argue their points.
for example, using the word "hypothetical" to describe an ultimatum...this kid would not let go of using "hypothetical" to describe a ridiculous either/or statement....."economical stability OR trans," is barely a sentence, much less, a hypothetical question.

Yes this is getting so annoying. Now my bf thinks he has “a little bit of Asperger’s”, my friends say that random people we see briefly one time have “a touch of the ‘tism”, I had a friend with mental health issues constantly telling me that I had ADHD and autism. It’s getting crazy! I’ve been in therapy for years, and the professionals have never suggested I have either condition. My bf shows zero signs of autism. And how would my friends know anything about the psychology of a person just passing by? Social media is so unhealthy for us sometimes

He also is ignoring plenty of evidence that real doctors are talking about when it comes to "certain vax". But I guess their evidence doesn't count cause it goes against his narrative. My mother has been diagnosed with bipolar, then depression, then bipolar again. She also has had a thyroid storm once due to Hashimoto leading to behaviour similar to mania. I don’t know what to believe at this point. All I know is she has issues and no one seems to be able to help. My childhood with her constant mood swings (aggression, depression, love bombing, anxiety) was hell but I can see now as an adult the person who suffers most is truly her. She deserves so much better. It breaks my heart.

It is important to have vaccination levels around 95% to avoid transmission specially to babies and little kids because they can get very sick, only 58 per cent of children in the south zone Alberta were up to date on their pertussis vaccines by the age of two.

Im on my twin flame journey and it is NOTHING...NOT EVEN CLOSE to what this cult is doing!
Im disgusted. There are lots of groups and UA-camrs preying on innocent people. Even the company i used to find my spiritual therapists, who later realized a situationship i was in was a twin flame partnering, has other mystic leaders who lure people in with a notion all people are twin flames. That's not true. And my therapists do not agree with how their bosses are allowing some to do that.
And yes, that cult's ads are still running on fb, my jaw dropped.
Twin flame partnership education has happened for decades...all over the world, but it was a sacred understanding...not many knew...and with reason, the more people know...in this sense...the more others can use it to take advantage of people desperate to find love. Which twin flames find each other narlrurally like magnets...no one has to "learn" how to find their's. Most twin flames don't even know they are twin flames, but still found each other bc they are compatible and have a similar purpose religiously (to their own beliefs) or mystically...to spread unconditional love and service to their communities (that's it! Not a sex cult!!)
So this whole cult in Oregon makes me sick. They took something pure and tainted it, and ruined peoples lives. Real twin flame experiences Do Not do such things at all!

    • @EmpressEllie
      @EmpressEllie 6 місяців тому +1

Yes, yes and yes! I am on the twin flame journey too. I met my twin 6 years ago and it sparked me into a very real spiritual awakening that I was not expecting whatsoever. I am not stalking him, or pining, I have moved on with my life, healed myself, helped others heal by sharing my experiences and light and I’ve started an amazing family. I am grateful for my twin flame encounter because it put me on the right path to being a better human.
The twin flame universe people… to put it simply…. Are lunatics and not at all what true twin flame energy is about!
These documentaries have been very hard to watch, knowing people were manipulated so deeply.

Anti-vax was such a rare stance prior to COVID and did not have the “conspiracy theory right wing” connotation that it does now. It was just people who didn’t want to put random germ cocktails into their bodies and possibly didn’t trust the science. It’s wild how much people started to distrust the government and media during the pandemic. It’s one thing to trust the science, and it’s another to trust the powers that report the science. I don’t have the answers and truly don’t know what to believe anymore. There is a lot out there now that seems to prove some of those “conspiracies”

The most scientific protocol for testing is not used with vaccines. The double blind placebo based testing. The placebos used in vaccine testing are not Intert. The placebos used are the very toxins in vaccines that people are worried about like aluminum salts. Often other vaccines are used as placebos. As a student in Germany studying medicine, this is worrying. I respect everything vaccines have done for us, but we don't know what type of damage they are causing.
In order for vaccines to work they need an adjuvant. An adjuvant has to be toxic or the body wouldn't recognize the viral matter in vaccines. It wouldn't develop an immune response and instead it would just discard the broken down viral matter. This is why the court ruled that "vaccines are unavoidably unsafe"

You are so right, Dr. Honda. Culpability in these circumstances can be so difficult to determine. Where’s the line between accountability and coercion? It’s a really tough question. I’m reminded of the recent murder trial that just wrapped up with the mom who blamed her son for carrying out abuse and torture of her autistic son, torture she told her elder son to engage in that ultimately led to the child’s death. The son pleaded guilty and takes responsibility for his part despite being coerced and commanded to torture his brother. It was heartbreaking to hear him say on the stand, “I didn’t love my brother enough” when asked if he loved his brother. It’s hard to reconcile him possibly receiving the same sentence as the mother who was found guilty of murder and aggravated child abuse.

Vaccine hesitancy isn't strictly anti science. For me anyway, it's fear of very real vaccine injuries, and my nephew is fully disabled from a shot given at the age of 9 months old, it's really hard to overcome that fear 😬 I can concede to the point that a lot of people are hesitant based on some paranoia filled echo chambers. I guess my point is, specifically on the vaccine topic, there's plenty of science that validates the fear of injury, as well as the efficacy (yes they are very effective). And if one is exposed to a loved one, or personally experienced a significant side effect, it's just really, really scary. My kids aren't getting any shots. I'm happy that I have the freedom to make that decision, and it doesn't make me anti science.

THIS. my grandfather “crossed the rainbow bridge” because of the flu vaccine. I never met him because of it. My friend (28 at the time) had 3 strokes because of the covid shot. I know many people who have been harmed and disabled, even died from them. Dr Honda dismisses the very real and devastating injuries and deaths with a mere “blah blah blah”. Unreal. I wish people could empathize and understand why vaccine hesitancy is justified.

This is happening SO much now that the data actually shows an average of 17% excess deaths, monthly, since the rollout!!! In almost all of the countries that are heavily vaccinated.
Please, understand that the cultural brainwashing around vaccines goes much deeper than you know. You must know that the basic rule for brainwashing or neuro linguistic programming is repetition. So when you hear a ton of different people saying the exact same words, “the benefits outweigh the risks” over and over and over…. Is it possible this is part of cultural programming?
When I got covid, right before eligibility for the vaccine, I was shocked at the anger and hate projected at me for not wanting to get an unproven new mRNA shot after I already gained natural immunity from the virus. I have two doctors in different provinces and when I asked them about the shot, they both said that exact phrase… it made the hair on my neck stand up… something wasn’t right!!!
All media outlets have at least one board member that is also linked to the vaccine corporations. The rabbit hole is vast once you actually go down it. Outside of Google of course because that search engine is heavily censored.
I could share so much more but I am doubtful it will make the difference it should. We are trying to warn you and others. We woke up from the brainwashing and it’s offensive to be merely discredited as brainwashing individuals after the horrible experiences we’ve had.
My soul mourns for humanity and what it is facing.

Between your cult documentary commentary and my own watching of these documentaries, I now have my own definition of what a cult is. I believe a cult is an organization where there is a punishment for not joining said organization or for leaving the organization. I believe I was raised in a cult growing up Christian because the punishment for not being a Christian is eternal damnation. Christianity even takes it a step further, because even if you were Christian but secretly a queer kid (like me) you would still have to go to Hell. As an adult I have really grown to reject Christianity because of the concept of Hell. It's extremely harmful to spread this concept, especially to children. I could go on and on about this. Maybe I should start a podcast 😂

“There’s different risks, blah blah blah” is the only acknowledgment in that rant about injury and death from the subject you are ranting about. Many people suffer and a lot of people have died from the subject you are SOOOOOO sure the benefits out weigh the risks.
Please make an episode on this where you are able to site research and data that isn’t funded by the very people making them.

The number of therapists who confuse BPD with bipolar astounds me. I’ve seen clinicians diagnose patients as having mania for talking quickly and being fidgety when they’ve only interacted with them for 15 minutes and have no idea of their baseline behavior. So many women with ADHD and autism are misdiagnosed as bipolar or BPD and I find it infuriating that clinic and are clearly not getting enough training around how to differentiate these diagnoses.
