I hope you guys enjoy the first look. I am really excited to get to ride this bike and I am hoping it can hold up against the Orbea Oiz that I have fallen in love with. Be sure to like, subscribe, and let me know if there is any other bikes you would want me to shake out of a box! I am working on a few different style of videos at the moment and am excited to get everyone's feedback.
I got the Anthem 2 29 2021 version and replaced the head stem with 35mm and change the fork travel from 100mm to 130mm also put maxxis ardent tyres on it. Its has also good handling on single black diamond tracks for me now
Nice to hear we have done same with the giant anthem advanced 2.. mine only 120mm travel Rockshox SID and changed to SRAM NX/GX groupset became lighter down to 11.5kg.. XC/Trail tide both worlds can do.
Absolutely love your channel.. Subbed it after watching one video. And your parodies just crack ppl up... I hope you do a in-depth review on the anthem advanced pro as I see not many ppl have done so on UA-cam. Looking forward to your take on this bike ..as I've just got one for myself.
Im trying to get my hands on one to ride. At the latest I'll get to in around a month. My buddy crashed his and it's out of commission until his new frame comes in 😅. I appreciate your kind words!
I Man, nice video. I just bougth a frame kit and i'm wondering if I can install an a 110 por 120mm lefty8 fork In this bike?, the frame aloud me that change?, IT Will afect a lot the geo and can compromise the durability of the frame?, IT means that I have to change the travel in rear too? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much this review. I really appreciate the emphasis that you put on the dual lockout. I'm wondering how you feel about the rear hub. Do you think the pawl free body will hold up past six months? Or should I consider selling the wheelset outright for a star ratchet or something more robust? Also, it was hard to tell from the footage, but are brake rotors six bolt or centerlock? Thanks again for posting your review.
No problem and thanks for supporting the channel! Ive had a set of wheels with this hub on it and had no complaints. It held up very well. The only reason I would upgrade is if you want better engagement. They are also center lock!
Ive ridden both - I would say the 2019 with the different offset was slower pointed down than the OIZ, but the anthem climbed better, with the new 2021 I would say it climbs better and descends just as well if not better than the OIZ (atleast the year cam has)
John, I was the Large that came in, I had a 2019 before - it feels much more slack to me and feels like it handles like a bigger bike now, especially in the corners
Also I'm 170-190lbs depending on time of year, I can 100% feel the difference in the stiffer upper crown on the 2020+ fork, especially under hard braking
@@jeffcarlisle7852 Thank you for the heads up. I assumed the shorter fork offset and stem may provide a tighter turning radius. As a podium (sometimes) Cat 2 racer, I'm always looking for an edge. I have a harder time in the tight stuff than say the guys on Epic Sworks .

@@MossieRidesBikes no worries and look forward to seeing the review. Take care and stay safe!
i really love the bike... although i did change the tires to Maxxis Forecaster and and 100mm stem
I just put forecasters on one of these today, that's a great tire!
Great video! Thank you for your great content!
I appreciate it!
Brad was excited about that Oz. Haha.

Can you review the 2021 giant anthem 2 29er.

As far as I know there’s conversion kit for this to make it go with star ratchet. Just search a video of dtswiss 370 to 350.
@@tuomasmerilainen3698 Im pretty sure you are correct. I've never done one myself but it looks pretty simple to do
Can you do the fathom 2
How would you compare it to your Oz? Race worthy machine?
From a first impression standpoint I'm really excited. I should get a test ride going in the next few weeks!

Any idea on the max chainring size?
I'm looking for feedback vs. the 2019 version, in particular the change from a 51mm offset to a 44mm in the fork.
