2022 Giant Anthem Advanced Pro 29er 3 first look and weight!
One of my longtime favorite bicycles from Giant is finally here. The brand-new redesign of the Anthem Advanced Pro! I raced an anthem a handful of years ago and it holds a special place in my heart. This new design completely goes away from the maestro suspension that Giant has used on the Anthem for years.

I had to pump this one out relatively fast because this particular bike has been hard to get and one already sold. Just for reference, the bike I weighed was the medium!

Dude, I love your race footage so much. Can't imagine how much a pain in the ass it is to be trying to race well but also have to worry about a freakin go pro .
I appreciate the compliment! I honestly love capturing the footage almost as much as the racing itself so it’s not too much of a pain. The triple crown of pisgah series starts in a month!

@@onlyfoolriding8223 I did a pre ride about a month ago and I’d say that’s accurate. My game plan is to save as much as I can for the climb because it can be hellacious in parts then try to empty my tank after the descent.
@@MossieRidesBikes How long did the climb take you? What time are you aiming at for completing the entire thing? I am probably a mid pack cat 2. Would love to finish around 3:10ish.
I'm just excited that Giant made a bike that is not a lame drab color like dark green, black or dark gray. Its amazing they found color in their pant shop.

Super nice bike. And as you say nice to build upon. My wife has the deore groupset. Other than for weight i would never replace it. Works perfect!

Looking at the reach numbers on this bike (since I have never seen or ridden one in real life). The medium look to be a pretty good size at 450mm. At 5’10” should I go for the size medium or large?
Where did you get that bright green strap ?
Interesting ride, not sure about the price as far as value goes, but put that to one side and there are some interesting aspects (as well as areas for improvement which I certainly would). I must admit, I like the paint job being a sucker for that orange shade.
I’ve grappled with the value side of things this past year because eveeerryything has gone up in price. I basically had to start doing what you did in your comment and set the price aside. I do love the paint job though 🤗
@@MossieRidesBikes Spot on, I think the value for money and an authentic evaluation of a bike build ought to be kept separate, especially in these crazy times of price inflation.
The 2 year unconditional warranty on the frame and lifetime against defects on a carbon frame seems to be where the justification of the price is. Carbon wheels and the warranties. I've own 2 Anthems and I'm struggling with seeing the value in this one. You should crack your frame in year 2 to get your money out of it.

I know there is one coming but I can’t recall when. A friend of mine has been waiting on it for a while 😅 whenever it arrives I will do a video on it!

It's a nice bike but for that price point for the component choices I feel Giant has started to overcharge for cheap components... 11.8 kg for a $4600 bike? Not really justified due to heavy parts.. Like what Trek and specialized has been doing for years.. .. Rip off... Still the giant anthem is a cool looking bike compared to other brands. Also for that price point It would be great if u could get ur hands on a BH lynx race carbon 7.0 or 7.5 which comes with full XT 12 spd set - up!

I'd rather get the lowest end blur for $200 more and have a lifetime warranty, plus a proven bike.
giant has a lifetime warranty... plus 2 year crash replacement. (sc has 0)
So is Giant a proven bike.
