Absolutely fantastic! Jacqui voice is amazing 😊 nice to see them back together singing the old beautiful south songs. Regardless of the handbag she's an amazing talented lady as for Paul he has to be my favourite male vocalist of all time both have mesmerizing voices make me proud to come from Hull xxx
Yeah,I remember when there was no electricity, what gigs we had then..They don't know they're born chuffin hell. Light show was candles and burning hay. Groupies arrived on horseback.
Blah Blah Blah predictable cliched shit Blah Blah Blah I'm a miserable old cunmt and hate my life Blah Blah Blah. MANY artists today can also sing live and don't use autotune. Get over yourself.
@@EatsLikeADuck Pop acts always did a lot of the time. The comment I replied to is complaining that nobody is just singing songs anymore, plenty still do.
Saw Paul and Jacqui at a concert in Chepstow castle last night the weather wasn't good but the voices of these two made it a fantastic night so glad to have been part of it wonderful xx
Saw them on Monday night in Newcastle. They were on top form, voices were excellent and the band was tight. Did all my favourites. I don't think you will be disappointed 👍
Absoloute brilliant!! Always been a fan of the beautiful south but it was jaqui and Paul who made them. Great to see them working together their voices go brilliant together. Both still got it this many years later.
Have always been a big fan of T.B.S. and was disappointed that Jacqui had left the band when my ex-partner an myself went to see the band in Dublin in 2000, if my memory serves me right. It's great to see and hear Paul and Jacqui together performing again.
I'm a fan of the Housemartins. Heaton has a unique voice - 'wasn't sure what happened after. 'Nice to discover Jacqui and Paul. They are sadly, pretty much unknown here (in Canada). Thanks to a Hull friend, I get to hear them for the first time today.
I also live in Canada now (Vancouver) but from England originally - and yeah nobody over this side of the pond has really heard them. My wife actually used to live in Hull where The Housemartins / The Beautiful Couth originated from. I saw them live at Glastonbury in 1999. Great to see them back together although with this setup seems to me all they are playing the songs a little too fast, and Paul seems to be singing a bit low?
Blackporsche roadster All the best grammar boys start their sentences with 'Wow.......'. Then they use compliment instead of complement, an amusing but silly error on your part. Thanks for playing, you'd be the runner-up in the competition, but the biggest hypocrite. I wish I could see your smarmy face right now.
@Blackporsche roadster Don't be sad that you didn't know compliment was the wrong spelling of complement. Or angry you were called out on it. It's funny, laugh at it, be humble. Bye.
Heaton is such a pro. I'm not a fan of his music, but loved him heading over to get Jacqui's mic turned up at 01:48. You can see his perfectionism, his irritation that it doesn't sound exactly right. It's noticeably turned up when she sings again at 2:04. When it's his turn to sing, he moves the water bottle out of the way and lowers the mic stand.
Spotted that too fella, that's why I think he had that song with Jacqui singing alone (basically) he knows what he wants to hear, and that gives him the chance to iron out anything not sounding right just from the off. He fully admits his control-freakery and being honest, imo some bands dont work *without* a 'dictatorship'. Absolutely fantastic performance here, can't believe I never noticed the Morrisey-esque lilt sometimes present in Paul's singing. (Seen as Paul started before I'm pretty sure, it could be Mozza sounding Heaton-esque!)
@@brazenlilhussy5975 totally agree on the Morrissey comment. Started listening to the Housemartins/Beautiful South around 2007, and now just coming back to them, and am only noticing it now. Odd because I listened to Morrissey religiously back then, saw him four times in that period. Surprised I’ve not heard more people make a parallel between Paul and Mozza.
He was hardly out of view. He stuck out like a sore thumb, wasn't paying attention and was totally distracting. If he wasn't going to sing on the first number he should have not come out at all until the second number, obviously.
Never saw someone wear a purse on stage before. Did they just arrive and hear "your on, now"? I like how Paul invited her to audition after hearing her sing at a party. Shows his judge of talent.
Jacqui Abbott is one of Britain’s finest vocalists, I could listen to her for hours and there are few lyricists as good as Paul.
Je b
Saw them live last Friday.....beautiful perfection. That was the first time, can't wait for the next.
Couldn't agree more awesome!
@@davidbell7094 👍❤️
With her hunter boots and shoulder bag Jacqui looks like an ordinary spectator. Still beautiful and with a wonderful voice after all these years.
I love how two of our biggest talents arrive like they’ve just ducked out from some workplace drinks.
Agreed, everytime I watch Paul n Jacqui I'm grateful I'm alive🇮🇪❤️
I saw them yesterday sadly she was poorly but Paul was amazing on his own he wasn't dressed up at all he was brilliant so down too earth
Jaqui does. Paul looks like an extra in The Football Factory 😂
Brilliant 😂😂
Seen them live few times and they are amazing, no airs no graces , they are soooo good live , our greatest asset..
One of the most beautiful voice combinations of all time
Paul and Jacqui were born to sing together!
+Robin Owen Is that right?
@@derrickdomino8210 yeah honestly, their parents are sickos mate.

Their voices blend together so perfectly. And Jacqui is one of the most beautiful women on the planet.
Prettiest Eyes is one of THE greatest love songs ever written...in my humble opinion
Agreed...... Been Married 35 years...
"Prettiest Eyes" is simply one of the loveliest - if atypical ! - love song ever written.
I sing it busking. I love the chord progressions.
Paul Heaten great lead singer, always on point, you can hear every lyric, takes great singing that. Respect man 👍.
I have never understood why these are not mega stars,They have actual talent!

Mick Gordon ah my bad I thought he lived down grafton street in Hull for a while must have got it wrong 😊😊
I reckon the whole North of England has a claim on these fantastic talents! The Beautiful North!
How can you not love a spontaneous little 4 song performance from them. They both sound as good as ever. Nice on the ears ...
Got a perfect duo here. Paul is a good vocalist himself and is a great song writer. Match that with Jacqui's vocals and it becomes magic.
Seen them Live at Sheffield Arena. Many years ago. Brilliant.
The last of true talent no auto tune no miming no dancing about all over just good songs well sung

Well…if they are getting well known, that's a great thing, 'cause they are really great!

Going to watch these on Saturday night in doncaster. Can't wait .

Her voice has been caught in a timewarp. She sound almost the same as she did in The Beautiful South same for Paul as well.
Michael Langley if you watch him singing Let Love Speak Up Itself on here. He holds a note in that song that blows your mind.
Her voice is awesome
