Close your eyes and you'd think Paul was 35 years younger. His voice is still in very good nick.
So under the radar and underrated I think, but one of best songwriters UK has ever produced.
Spot on 100%
Not as far as I'm concerned, Paul Heaton is one of Britain's finest songwriters and there's no doubt about it. The songs remind me, I'm English and it's quantifiable.
@@drdrumbeat3010 well I'm Scottish but I know what you mean lol
Oh the 'underrated' fetish....
So true going to see them in Nottingham next month with another great British songwriter billy Bragg as support. Should be a good night
paul heaton is a legend one of the greatest ever song writers
😊😅😅
And a smashing guy too
Never quite gets the credit he deserves, hes an amazing songwriter and fantastic vocalist.
They never wanted fame fortune or awards
Real people who have remained real for decades, real talent that hasn't diminished in all that time. Brilliant 👏
This guy’s voice does not change God he’s incredible
Not many people would notice this but the verse strums on Bb Major for 8 bars before the drums do a little fill which makes the listener expect a chord change but they don’t and just stay on the Bb chord for another bar. That kind of thing is how you know the songwriter is someone who is crafting their music and putting in little surprises here and there. It’s like everything he’s ever done - just crafty and genius in the style of the great songwriters of all time. It’s all so perfectly tasteful. And then the lyrics always have nice little puns and sprinkles of humour.
I noticed it... I am class....
Their voices haven’t changed over the years, bloody marvellous 🎉
You know she is not the original voice on this one? Briana Corrigan was the female voice for this song.
@@Zetep True but Jacky is still the best female voice they have had and has lasted a lot longer lol .One of my best friends is Sheila Ferguson who was lead singer with The Three Degrees and not many realize she wasn't an original , just the best and most well known voice on all their hits after she replaced someone else before they made it big .
Love JA `s vocals , all were very good , but Jacqui def my favourite, what a voice@@MARTIN-bd7gm
This guy is a fkin legend ,.,he’s been around for the past 40 years and he still manages to sound amazing ,.
Great to see Vic Reeves on keyboards 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I thought it was Richard E Grant
I'm getting John Shuttleworth vibes as well
@@glennproctor4178 There was an Austin Ambassador Y Reg parked outside the studio 😀
Little known fact. Vic Reeves and Hugh Grant share a cousin who plays the keyboard.
Made me look!!🤩😂🤠
I love the Housemartins / Beautiful South. British gems for sure.
One of the best voices of our generation
Two of the best voices. They compliment each other so well.
Paul Heaton..what can I say...his songs are up there with the best..I've followed the house martins and the the beautiful south since I was a kid..and then I brought my own son who was 15 years old to a gig in Dublin and he loved them..need I say more.😉
Pure quality
and perfectly matched
For me, these two ARE the beautiful south.
That girl has a beautiful voice. Seen them a few times, superb 👍
The quality of the singing is unbelievable, good job 👏 👍
Harmonises or what I'd give that a perfect 10😊
A Pure musical masterpiece……Paul and Jacqui were meant to sing together….👍🇮🇲

Saw them, well Paul in Sheffield 9/12/22 Paul is so underrated but such a humble brilliant songwriter. Get well soon Jacqui!
Absolute GOLD. Pure raw talent in every way.
Brilliant start to the day 🤣🤣🤣
Mr Paul Heaton and Ms Jacqui Abbott, scholastic giants of the arts, accomplished musicians of their generation, we salute you. Thank you.
Two of the best ever from the UK for sure. Underrated
Went to his concert in Manchester Saturday, unfortunately Jackie is sick. But my god he’s absolutely brilliant even my hubby was dancing in the isles. Merry Christmas and thank you for your great songs.
British Isles? Or other islands?
She was sick back in 92 at Bournemouth when I see them, she went off stage after a few songs
Seen him playing in the 3arena in Dublin last night, jacqui was sick couldn't make it. He was absolutely brilliant. The support act rewer sang a few songs with him she was great
I’m going to Belfast on Wednesday to see Paul Heaton I believe Jackie won’t be there.
Jacqui didn't look well in the videos from that session, although she still sounded great.
There voices never change ❤
That was incredible
Great talent, and really decent human beings too, by all accounts.
Keep rocking, Comrades.
Yes indeed, Paul is a gem of a guy 👍
One of my all-time favorites. Beautiful South and the Housemartins have produced so many little gems. Great great talent.
Why is he not in the rock. N roll hall of fame without a doubt deserves it,
Their voices just give me goosebumps
@@eightiesmusic1984 I suppose that’s your opinion?
@@eightiesmusic1984 you wanna tell em to shut up, because they’re making you sound like a cvnt to be honest
Legend, nothing but class, doesn't matter how your feeling a song for every year and season, been a fan since the start 😅. Epic
It's effortless. They're magic.
Time takes its toll, but not on the eyes!
Two very distinctive voices. Wonderful.
Absolutely superb Paul Heatons the dogs bollox man
Absolute talent ❤
Amazing amazing amazing. Best authentic musical lyrical bands I grew up with. Great to see them perform so perfectly as always. Their lyrics always told stories and always made me smile. What a set of voices.
My favourite group of all time. Underrated, but who gives a shit we know how good they are.
What a humble pair of great singers.
Incredible duo im 38 ive heard of them but only started listening to there music proper last couple of years absolute love them and this song is my fav
This is class they would put the vast majority of singers to shame .raw talents not special effects or auto tune rubbish
Goosebumps every single time! ❤
Remember good days 🫶🙏
Unbelievable voice Paul Heaton, amazing!!
Saw Paul at Sheffield Tramlines last year, it was fantastic! It rained and weather was pretty bad to say the least lol but he sounded sooo good and it was my fave part of the festival. Hope to see him again
Heaton #godlike 🙌
My youngest daughter was born while this played in the back ground, always brings a tear to my eye
great voices
From 1:21 -1:32, a perfect combination of voice and instrument. In short, a masterpiece.
She's such a good singer. He's a good singer / songwriter.
I mean come on, it doesn’t get much better than this 😅 unbelievable
Belter of a song from Paul and Jacqui. I love them because they're amazing. ❤🙂
wonderful song by a wonderful singer / so
ng writer
Class 👍👍👍
Two voices as one incredible
never ages superbly done
What a great Song ❤
I love to see these two reviving The Beautiful South classics but as someone who fell in love with the original beautiful south all the way in America where nobody had or has ever heard of them Jaqui cannot hold a candle to Brianna Corrigan's ethereal vocals ... she and Dave and Paul were the best vocal harmony trio to ever exist in pop music. Nobody else ever made a song about a husband murdering his wife, dismembering her, stuffing her in a vacuum cleaner bag and boarding her up in the walls only to become a haunted drunken madman sound so pretty.
One of my all time favorite songs and band
Seeing them in Dublin in February! Can't wait!!
Love these two, get well soon Jacqui we miss you xx
Love this song and their voices are both unique and compliment each others
Respect Sent From Liverpool UK
Sublime

These chaps are good. Keep going. One day you might just be as good as The South.
stunner of a song
What a voice Jacqui has. I'm so sad she's not been able to perform recently. Rianne is wonderful too though and well worth catching them perform if you can
Viv reeves smashing it on the piano!
It’s Richard e grant 😂
Lookin forward to watching them in May with my 9 year old... He loves Housemartins and Beautiful South 😍

Nice to see John Shuttleworth on keyboard as well . I hope he's over being jilted when he was younger 😃
