Thank you so much Mark! I have lived in my home for 2years and could never get my thermostat to sync with the app. I followed your tutorial step by step and I’m FINALLY done with trips to the hall to control the air 🙌🏽. I can’t thank you enough.
If you are using a android phone, follow instuctions here, when you get the the "no internet internet connection part" use the back triangle button on your phone and it should connect then, and ask for the passcode on the thermostat. Mine did. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure that out.
DnlBM I was able to fix mine after I disconnected the power from the breaker. Flipped it off and then back on. Once the unit was back on I held my finger on the screen just like in the video and it worked just as it should.
This doesn't work at all on the Android version of the app. After Airplane Mode is turned on per the app requirements (won't let you proceed without it turned on) the wifi connection is made to the thermostat with a "Connected" status but the Honeywell Home app just says "No Internet Connection" and won't let you proceed. How the hell is app supposed to connect to the internet in airplane mode with the only wifi connection to the thermostat? Catch 22. This is an application design flaw rendering these thermostats useless.
Yes, we have the same problem. Honeywell app just says “no internet connection” and hangs. Sometime it hangs right at the very first screen, and just sits there jittering in & out. So frustrated. Tried on 2 phones. Not happy with Honeywell right now.
@@deniseasmith7508 yes, I figured it out; you should have an “ok” on the “internet unavailable” dialogue, just ok that, you don’t need an internet connection to set up the thermostat, once the thermostat has been configured via the app, then it will connect to your household wifi

Did everything per the instructions and the app can't get thermostat status. and the thermostat is not showing the 'wifi' icon in the top right corner (which it probably should). In fact, the app managed 2 'configure' both thermostats but then it always showed 'thermostat error' message next 2 them. even though saying the 'thermostat appears to be connected to the network'. neither of the thermostats displayed the wifi icon (in fact it disappeared after 'success' message from the screen of the thermostat). not sure if it can connect properly to password-protected networks (and i'm not willing 2 remove the password from mine). and yes, my router is pretty old and it only works in 2.4GHz mode. today when i tried 2 re-connect the thermostat 2 the network/app i can't do that, i get the 'registration error' @ the end of the process. this kind of sucks...
It won't connect to my WiFi with the App. Very bad Thermostat Idea. I should just be able to Program the Thermostat WITHOUT a Wifi Connection. Very Bad IDEA. Will have to replace it in the very near future.
afair u can totally configure the thermostat via the local menu. it may b tricky, but all the settings r there 4 u (and btw, i'm not saying they have the greatest flexibility, but yes, there's definitely a 'programmable' configuration)
Cut the power to the thermostat from the breaker or from the main. The thermostat will reboot and the 2 seconds hold will work. In fact - mine magically reconnected on it's own after this.
SOLUTION: If the 5 seconds touch on temperature number is not working do this. It worked for me and for others too. Option1 : Cut the power supply to the thermostat area from the breaker and turn on the power after 5 seconds. You are all set. Thermostat wifi touch will work now. Option2: Remove the upper part of the thermostat. Disconnect and reconnect the power cord. Basically its just rebooting thr thermostat. Option1 is easy and safe.
This still didn't work for me. I tried factory resetting it, then I tried cutting the power supply by taking out the batteries, but still nothing. Is anybody else having this issue?
Exactly. After I enter the PIN and confirm the configuration, I am prompted to select my home wifi and enter the pwd. I do that and then my app goes back to the screen telling me to connect to the thermostat wifi. I can't and am basically stuck with my only option being to cancel. Very frustrating.

Apparently installers have a different number because the technician got through in minutes. Unfortunately, Honeywell calls different model T6 pro but they are not at all the same from a connectivity perspective (which is what most people care about these days).
The only purpose a wall unit serves is to confuse my elderly parents so they can constantly set it incorrectly. A wall unit is a negative.
VERY USEFUL VIDEO 😊
Thank you!
It connected right away on my IPAD but I have been trying for over an hour with my Android and it wont connect at all. I eventually gave up tried my Ipad and bam it worked but I still cant get my android, this sucks because everyone in the house has an Android and I travel so Ipad no stay at the house. How do I get it to load on my android!!! ::::Pulling out my hairs::
Same issue spoke to tech support and got the run around dont waste your time replace it
I was having the same issue with this thermostat. I turned off my mobile data, and ran off the setup on wifi only. This is how I was able to connect to both my thermostats this way.
@@JesusSanchez-xv2rv You have the perfect name for me to say THANK YOU JESUS!! We have had this thermostat for a few months now and it would not connect to our Android phones. I have been dragging my feet and not contacting Honeywell. I came across this video to see if I was missing something and was sad to see that I wasn't doing anything different than him. I saw your comment and tried your idea and sure enough, it connected to my phone!!! Yay!!
@@JesusSanchez-xv2rv eres lo maximo ni en el manual indica esto
@@karingrant5872 Just worked for me as well. It was quite aggravating but now is working. Thanks to Jesus Sanchez!
nothing happens when i press on the temperature, what’s going on
HOW DO I ACTUALLY REMOVE A LOCATION FROM THE APP ON MY ANDROID?
i press the screen and nothing happens...
Mine says exclude... not include.
this app sucks the security is nuts its junk, you can spend allot of time in this and I do allot of PC stuff.. edit 1hr later finally needed to delete thermostat that was on there. patience pays but what and ordeal I pity those that don't know there phones or routers well. thumbs up for info at least I knew was on track
It says that it’s connected but it doesn’t do anything. The only option it gives me is to cancel.
I cannot get to the configure menu on iPhone, thermostat says its connected, what happened, in APP its still shows the lryics wifi name
Were you able to fix it?
@@jeffreymayorga5020 No, still the same.
@@deaconjimbauer4242 I had the same issue you had today. If your on iOS 14 that’s the issue. My phone and wife are iPhones with iOS 14. We tried it on our iPad with iOS 13 and worked. Also worked with an android as well.
@@deaconjimbauer4242 my issue was when I had to select the thermostat wifi it wouldn’t do anything or go to the next setup.
@@jeffreymayorga5020 Good to know, makes sense. Appreciate it
Screen not change, not working. Sorry. Anything else?
Whenever I press and hold on the center of the screen nothing happens
When I press the screen it doesn't do anything....
Once I hit done on setup complete: My iPhone goes back to the setting and nothing else
Does not work. Adt iq panel locked
I get all the way through this process and there is no way to click "done". It's just "cancel".
Did you ever fix the issue? I'm at that stage now.
@@DivineElementsDesignNot yet. I read that the app is not working with the latest OS on the iphone.
I hold the thermostat for more than 5, nothing happens.
I hate this thermostat. It didn’t turn of for two straight days and doesn’t turn off when selected degrees are reached
This doesn’t work with the T6 z wave thermostat
Oh gosh, thanks for your comment! Didn't realize mine was z wave not WiFi, thought both would work 🤦
@@timmyhuang1958 It does have WIFI. I just can't be set up this way.
@@noreenduong8353 Hey Noreen! T6 comes with two models, WIFI and Z Wave, if your model is WIFI, then you'll be able to link your T6 to WIFI. If you have the Z Wave mode like me, you won't be able to connect it to WIFI!
Can you set up the Residio app if you have Z wave?
App is officially called Resideo, FYI.
it is still stuck on the screen that says "Select your thermostat's network name"
iphone 7+
T6 pro smart
The app seems to direct me through the process just fine. I can connect my iphone to it's wifi network, and the thermostat says "CONNECTED".
But when i go back to the app, it is still stuck on the screen that says "Select your thermostat's network name". It is as if it doesn't realize it's connected. Clicking the "Lyric xxxxxx" button does nothing. turns black then back to white.
It never proceeds from that screen and there is no "next" button.
So what do i do next????
This video moves so very fast, i can't really see what is supposed to happen at that point. Why is it rushing?
I am having the same issue. Have you gotten this figured out? If so, what did you do?
@@akiatianib i never did figure it out myself, Ms Tiani. i was fortunate in that the company who installed my new boiler and the Honeywell T6 thermostat has a very knowledgable technician who assisted me twice with two seperate T6 thermostats to get them setup. She explained her solution, but it was many steps, involved assistance from the Honeywell customer support phone number, and i didn't really follow it. i, myself, tried calling the 800 number listed at the end of the manual for support, but after an hour of waiting on hold, i gave up. Apparently installers have a different number because the technician got through in minutes.
You may have to pay someone to troubleshoot but it probably won't be cheap. i recommend trying (877) 841-2840 first. i don't remember if this was the number in the manual, but it's the number google search gave me. These are not simple, customer friendly technology, in my opinion. Good luck with it, Ms Tiani.
Doesn't work very well always disconnects. Everything else in my house works remotely. And it's connected next to my router. Always fails me
This sucks I hold the temperature and it doesn’t work
It tell me success but then get stuck in loop cycle of creating new home
Trash. Gets stuck - once I connect the thermostat to the wifi the app never moves along.
I can’t find anyone that has a fix have you?
@@antonio1999ish nope. I have two of these - thanks to my builder. I’ve tried the steps on both thermostats. Made sure I had everything up to date. Re downloaded the app. Even made sure my router was only on the 2.4 Ghz band. Several times. Tried several methods of setting up the app. Reviewed steps multiple times to make sure my phone wasn’t at fault. Nothing.
I think I sounds the solution so for some reason you have to hold it for 5 seconds again while it’s telling you the WiFi then connect. I don’t know why. So to be clear!!
After you hold to get the thermostat to the screen where it tells you the WiFi name. On that same screen hold it for 5 seconds again THEN go through the process.
I don’t know why it work but it did for me!
Mine keeps turning off every 20 seconds😂 don’t know what to do
That did not work, I held it for 5 minutes screen never ever changed
Mine wont connect
I love how this video helps nobody😢
Nothing works on mine. Z-wave says failed to include. Press and hold temp button. Nothing. Power reset. Nothing. Full reset. Nothing works. I’m about to throw it in the trash.
I'm getting something from Google then
wow
Turn the damn background music off. Really annoying to listen to your narration with that music!!!
Yeah, not connecting
I can’t get past step one with clicking the stupid temp lol
This does mot work for me
Video is generic garbage and does not tell the user how to connect to WiFi it just goes through setup, how did we get to the unit finding WiFi ?
Don’t buy any Honey well device they are the biggest scam I ever encountered. After my experience I don’t believe any video that is that simple to connect the device. Also connect it to the Wi-Fi is crazy difficult. Plus I am electrician.
