@@surreygoldprospector576 honestly if I was at a river sampling, it would be great for running a few shovels through it to find a spot before running a sluice! You can keep adding dirt to this and continue panning until you feel you've done an adequate sample then do a clean out. Is it quicker than a normal gold pan? For a single scoop of dirt, no. If you were to do multiple scoops as it's intended, yes!
