I’m pretty sure Daryl’s about 65 here and he still looks like a man much younger. You’re not old. You’re one yr older than him here. This was recorded yrs ago.
@Kingofcasamere, I’m about to be 64, God willing, but I loved Todd’s music at 17 too. In fact, the one and only time I saw him live was when I was 17, the RA tour with the pyramid and all that stuff.
Been a Todd fan since the early 70s. His Something Anything ravaged the airwaves then. My very first concert was Todd at some dumpy low ceiling crap hole bar that held about 400. The gate was $3.75. We thought that was a big ask at the time, but no one ever regrated the experience. It still stands out after these many years. I'm glad to see Daryl extend a reach out to a much-revered artist, but it's sad to see how much he has detreated compared to his contemporaries. The man is pickled. Daryl practically sings it for him. Come on, Todd...you know this shit...belt it out like you believe it. Own it, my friend...sell it. But not possible anymore...ugh. I understand that age takes a toll on the pipes, but man, are you even trying anymore? Nevertheless, Daryl is a knowing saint in documenting this extraordinary artist, even though he's obligated to hit all the high notes. still doesn't fog my admiration for Todd Rundgren...he's a monster rock and roller....
I never comment on videos, but after watching this one 10 times, I have to comment on how much it makes me FEEL. Todd sings with so much emotion. Every heartbreak comes through the words and even the la-la-la section. Now I need to stop writing and listen some more.

Daryl Hall and John Oates defined blue-eyed soul back in the 70's and 80's. Thirty years later, Daryl's still got it in this great collaboration with Todd. If hearing this song doesn't affect you, then you have no pulse. No need to call it "blue-eyed" soul, just SOUL.
wow, of all the incredible stuff that came out of the "Daryl's House" sessions, this might be the best. Two Philly guys in perfect sync and harmony with each other!

You know, I never cared for Todd Rundgren in the 70's but after watching him with Daryl in both music and goffing around, I LOVE him..his personality is fantastic!!!!
Gonna see Todd next week. Bartended several parties in the 90's w/ him present. A kind, gentle man who helped create the soundtrack of my younger years.
We can only hope and imagine they felt such a sense of achievement and bliss at the end of this performance. Kudos to Todd, of course, for writing such an amazing song and still performing it decades later true to its original form. Special kudos to Daryl, though. This man can fold himself into any of his guests' compositions so seamlessly and beautifully, and somehow make every song he partakes in better than we had ever heard it before.. Is there anyone on this planet as soulful as Daryl
