Great review and playing! Love Kiesel guitars in fact today I visited the factory in San Diego and ordered a new Vader for my birthday gift. Cheers, RM
So the VM7 is made for down tuning too? really want a multiscale because the 7th string on my RG7620 and RG8527 was always too floppy. But I tune to E standard always.
yah it's not ideal in that respect, can't hang it on anything. It'll sit on any kind of regular non-hanging stand just fine, and you can lean it against things more safely than any other guitar.
please review the WASHBURN PX-SOLAR160C ELECTRIC GUITAR - PARALLAXE OLA ENGLUND SIGNATURE ELECTRIC GUITAR , I'm pretty confused between this guitar and ibanez rgaix6fm-tgf...
Nice video Trey, however I disagree in regards to sticking with a fixed scale if you're not going to tune down. Multiscale guitars are much better/easier to play from an ergonomic standpoint, at least in my experience. Whilst playing mine, my wrist stays relaxed and comfortable, which has helped me a lot. The extended scale is great for tuning low, but it's still worthy of consideration once you take the ergonomics into account.
+Trevor Beckett I haven't noticed it being overly stiff, although I normally use thick strings anyways. Mine is a 27.5" to 25.5", so the bottom end scale is significantly longer. I find that it's still very comfortable, and I'm currently tuned to D standard. One of the real benefits is being able to use lighter strings than normal, so you can achieve a proper tension. From the factory, my guitar (Ormsby HypeGTR) comes equipped with a 9-46 set and tuned to E Standard.
Technically because the strings B through low E have a scale length greater than a standard S type (25.5") if you used 10-46s on a Strat and on a VM6 the tension on the strings B through Low E on the VM6 will be greater. Making it harder to bend and yes they will be stiffer... Technically. However, when you play a multiscale the ergonomic benefits of the frets and if you use hybrid string gauges they feel amazing. My next guitar is going to be multiscale for sure, DCM7 :)
JordyNorm you can use significantly lighter strings on the longer side if you're not tuning down ;). I have purchased two multiscale guitars, they're amazing. You won't be disappointed!
Hey Trey, I'm in the market for my first 7 string. I'm looking to spend around $900-$1200. I'm really interested in the Schecter KM 7 MKii but is there any other guitar in that price range you would suggest?
Maybe look into the Chapman ml7 guitars (if you havent already). They are even below ur price range and do an absolutely excellent job, at least in my opinion. :-)
It's pretty easy, the ball ends hook into the bridge and then lock individually at the nut, sort of like a floyd rose but with one lock for each string.
Do you have the specs for this vader? Looking to get a VM7 myself and I love the way this one looks, I think I'd basically want the same thing but with a purple quilt.
The headless design is to balance weight with the smaller body. In principle a part for an ergonic guitar but there is a lot of builders that do just for the look.
So the body was blanced to the neck right? The headless thing isn't necessary if the body was a bit bigger, so I always figured they made it headless because it's easier to travel with. I'm not that knowledgable on headless guitars so I don't really know the advantages of them.
well you got the Strandberg right here. then also you have some guitars that are basicly ripped off of Mayones (same specs/paintjob etc). Then you have some PRS models including specs and paintjobs. Oh ye and some of there guitar can be mistaken for Jackson guitars
+Daniel stranbergs don't look like vaders. and mayones wasn't even a company until the 80s. Neither was prs (maybe even the 90s), and Jackson didn't invent the super strat. Sorry you showed your work, but even that was wrong. You get a zero for effort.
+Daniel not to many strandbergs that are neck thru. also I know guys who won't tour with those because they don't hold up to temp changes and keisels give great build quality without spending 5 fucking grand on a guitar! your argument is shit!
Nice guitar but can any of these guys that demonstrate these guitars. Play anything original.. all this thrash music sounds the same.. crap you can’t even call it music..back in the 60s 70s and 80s that’s when music died
The lithiums sound amazing- I got mine a month or so ago- best guitar I've had the pleasure of playing
Have the same model VM6
I'm absolutely loving mine
Along side my Kiesel AM7
I'm having kiesel build my 1st custom guitar never had a kiesel or experience with them. I'm getting a NH6 aries. With the AS SETUP
Jesus i didnt think the pickups had that kind of clarity, especially on such distorted tones. Love the demo, and love the guitar.
that head sway is beautiful as always
Great review and playing! Love Kiesel guitars in fact today I visited the factory in San Diego and ordered a new Vader for my birthday gift. Cheers, RM
I love the left to right head thing.
THE HEAD SWAY IS KILLING ME BRO HAHAHA, JUST WATCHED THE KIESEL FACTORY TOUR, BADASS. GREAT PLAYING BY THE WAY.
This guitar is up for sale on the in stock page at kiesel. 11/2/16
Saving up for the 8-string. Polishing up my Wooten slap chops so I don't waste the first 6 months Djenting...
Gotta love that patented Trey Xavier head-sway at 1:07
Off-topic question, but can I get any information on the bass gear used in the mix demo?
killer demo jam
It’s a good review, thanks!
Best review out there.
Nice tone

Chris Sexton you commented long time ago, but the vm7 is awesome for standard tuning!!!
How do you hang this or even put it on a stand?

Does it actually make the guitar feel really stiff in standard tuning?

Does this have a more extreme forearm contour than the Strandberg OS6?
what patch you using on that axe fx? sounds good
Hey man great review. How is the volume knob location for volume swells?
whats the song u played,it was awesome
i watch the reviews not only for the guitars but his guitar playing lol
I saw the thumbnail and thought for one second you were reviewing another Strandberg guitar.

+attila derHunnenKönig chapman ml7 t is badass, got to play one a while back and loved the string spacing because it felt just like playing a 6
Take a look at an Ormsby GTR model. They have insane specs for the cost. I've already purchased two.
AlasPoorJordan How much are they?
***** you can find agiles use for 300-400
I wish I had another pair of hands.... so I could give this guitar four thumbs up!
how do you change the strings on guitars like this
The strings feed into the bridge and lock at the end of the neck.
It's pretty easy, the ball ends hook into the bridge and then lock individually at the nut, sort of like a floyd rose but with one lock for each string.
Do a review of a Skervesen!
Do you have the specs for this vader? Looking to get a VM7 myself and I love the way this one looks, I think I'd basically want the same thing but with a purple quilt.
You can't beat a kiesel!
Yoooooo space man music
I don't know why, and it might just be me, but that guitar looks tiny as hell for some reason.
Black paint over walnut and Purple Heart?!? Wtf
Don't look at me like that.
it looks so small
Sounds really thin.
certainly doesn't shine in the clean mode
Guitar without head, looks awful. AXE FX, LINE6 Helix - the top line of digital modeling. They sound artificial. Not bad, but artificial.
It seems like a decent guitar but those headless guitars look so stupid
especially when playing heavy metal ,,the guitar almost looks comical
+Contrust the lack of a headstock helps with balance and tuning stability of the guitar. It provides technical advantages.
I'm not sure I understand the question, sorry.
The headless design is to balance weight with the smaller body. In principle a part for an ergonic guitar but there is a lot of builders that do just for the look.

That's just too weird looking. If you don't tune more than 2 steps down (Drop C), multi scale is a waste.
Fred Garvin why? just put thicker strings on it like you would any guitar!
and 2 steps down is standard C. not drop
Kiesel Guitars : Ripping-off other guitar brands since 1946!
care to back that up with some evidence?

Steinberger had guitars that were similar to the Vader in the 1980s. Everything is derivative.
+Daniel not to many strandbergs that are neck thru. also I know guys who won't tour with those because they don't hold up to temp changes and keisels give great build quality without spending 5 fucking grand on a guitar! your argument is shit!
