Hey! thx for the comment. and yeah I'm aware, its pretty interesting, just my main point is that is the knife manufacturers fault, not the consumer, if they designed a "military grade" knife that you may need to save your life while injured or in a panic, that if you don't actuate it just right, it fails.
I agree and it’s definitely a 200 dollar knife but no otf is 100% reliable. I carried the shootout for about a year before I got my zbt and it has been great. Honestly a lot of knife makers are getting out of control with the pricing.
I’m sure you already know this but the benchmade has a different mechanism then all the others your showing so it’s possible.

I was also going to ask if there are any resources you might recommend for finding older discontinued knives

Bench made has been taking nothing but L’s for years. Over priced, and just all around low quality stuff.
