Knives, guns, cars, bikes, and maybe a helicopter ride or two.
This "Short" turned into a rant...
Here is another rant on the Benchmade Infidel compared to a cheap $3-$5 Chinese OTF. Excuse the vertical/portrait format as this was originally intended to be a short😭😭😭I didn't even remember why I recorded it in portrait until I got done editing the video lol

Case Knives Carbon Fiber Kinzua Unboxing and review. I love the knife, but the price tag seems a bit steep. #Benchmade #Infidel Won't Retract Part 2/Follow-up

Part 2 of my Benchmade Infidel #cleaning and #lubrication video. After Part 1, my Infidel sat in my knife case. A few days later, it failed to retract on my first attempt. I'll let it sit, and hopefully, I won't have to make a part 3 tearing it apart! #knifeskills #knifereview #edc #knivesdaily #knivesout #live

I’m sure you already know this but the benchmade has a different mechanism then all the others your showing so it’s possible.
Hey! thx for the comment. and yeah I'm aware, its pretty interesting, just my main point is that is the knife manufacturers fault, not the consumer, if they designed a "military grade" knife that you may need to save your life while injured or in a panic, that if you don't actuate it just right, it fails.
I agree and it’s definitely a 200 dollar knife but no otf is 100% reliable. I carried the shootout for about a year before I got my zbt and it has been great. Honestly a lot of knife makers are getting out of control with the pricing.
I was also going to ask if there are any resources you might recommend for finding older discontinued knives
@@Justaguy-e4w hmmm not older no sorry. I get a lot of my knives off of govx and expertvoice
The button is loose so that it doesn’t foul with pocket link and dirt - you can pull the spring to increase tension and it won’t jiggle at all - but it’s by design
hm interesting, makes sense. I thought was to wear less on the aluminum but seems a little excessively loose. my dirac delta is very tight. I personally prefer the "AR" methodology over "AK". tight tolerances to keep things out in the first place vs loose for continued operation after fod ingress
Yeah if you press it slow and awkwardly it doesnt come out the way it should . Meanwhile my infidel ,shootout tanto ,shootout drop point and claymore OTF have never failed one time
lol slow and awkward? Even if that was the case, it shouldnt matter how the switch of a $500 knife thats marketed for the military in desert environments is pressed.it's well known infidels actions fire weak/sluggish compared to other OTF's. Meanwhile, I have a $25 OTF that still fires harder that I've used on the daily deployed in the desert while my infidel has sat in a drawer most of its life having this many issues
OTF's are garbage. Waste of cash.
I like my other OTF's a lot personally, but I respect your opinion. None of my others have had any issues esp nowhere near as bad as this +$500 one lol. I have a $15 otf I've used for years and it's never had a single issue, so I'm really disappointed with the Infidel
@wishonafish I find them pretty much useless. They never have good lock-up and are finicky and usually need regular maintenance. I've owned 2 but they just ended up laying around because I never used them. I've handled a bunch though and have never been interested in another. They're fun to flick, but I wouldn't spend more than $50 on one.
@vorpalblades The ZBT I posted a vid of has perfect lockup and zero blade play, but I feel you. For utility, I prefer a simple flipper or fixed blade. Except my $15 otf, all my OTF I have more to admire and as fidget toys lol. I wouldn't by against daily carrying my Kershaw Livewire tho
Microtech otfs did the same thing when owning them. A single speck of lint or dust and it’s unreliable. I have learned to enjoy great heat treated steels and lockbacks such as Spyderco
Make sure all lube is out of the knife and I will come close to a guarantee that this knife will function properly. Lube is a an absolute killer for these knives.
really seems like it. It was functioning better after just soap and water than after just lune. thx for your comment!
Had an infidel, same crap what happening over and over again, sold it got a microtech. And ever since never never looked back. Any slight problems and I put some rem oil in and it’s factory perfect. Ran the infidel for about 6 months and it was problems and problems. And it’s been 4 years + with the same microtech and nothing.
that's reassuring, I'm pretty new to collecting knives as a hobby, had the infidel for ages but got my first microtechs not too long ago and was really hoping they wouldn't eventually be this bad.
Okay, I have the same knife for 4+ years now. Yes, mine was also around $500.00 and way over priced. You can send it back and the will correct it for free if you live in a state that alouds PTF knifes. Mime does the same thing every several months. I have to take it apart, you will not believe all the crap that gets inside. This correct the problem until it starts do like yours. I hope that helps?
Thx for the comment! I know you can send it in, but yes I wouldn't have thought that much stuff gets in on its own, interesting. Do you have the same issue with other OTF's by any chance? because I used to EDC a very cheap otf for years (still sorta do) and its been abused and never had this issue, meanwhile my Infidel sits in a case and still developed this issue.
@@wishonafish Well, you are correct I think it is the interworking of the knife only. My other OTF knives, by the way MUCH less pricey do not have this problem. Open it up and see the insides, very interesting engineering.
use lube very sparingly...I'd tear it down clean, inspect, very light lube put it back together and try it out.
yeah, that was the last resort, but it's finally good. It sat a couple days now, checked it n still firing well for an infidel. Thx for the comment!
I agree with you on the button being loose and jiggly
Yeah rest of knife is so clean I was like eh, that's kinda lame. esp for $400
The button on mine was fine but I took it apart to put some white lithium grease on the spring to help negate the noise from it, and now the button is loose. I don’t know if I put it together wrong or what but it works fine. The only sad thing is the spring still makes a ton of noise
@@LoganLawrence hmm that's interesting
Sweet knife I just don't like stonewash I'm a black DLC kind of guy are they gonna make them with a black blade bud.
I'm not a big fan of this specific stone wash, it usually depends knife to knife on which I prefer personally. and I'm sure they will, seems like they're essentially redoing their entire inventory with ZBT.
Also you can't paper test on wrinkled up paper. Lol Serious it's not supposed to be hate. I liked the vid.
and yeah ik haha sorry, I grabbed the first piece of paper, thats why I grabbed another, Im new to these vids so I promise they'll get better and more planned out in the future
Merry Christmas man
Same to you!
I'm not tryna be rude but brace yourself this is rude.. is it really that hard of action on your thumb? I can open my zbt with my pointer finger and thumb all day and barely tare up my fingers. You might wanna do a better job of telling people where your coming from when reviewing knives. If I didn't know any better and watched this I would have thought it was bad. Lol this is the best otf I own and I own 10ish separate brands Heretic, microtech, kershaw, guardian tactical, böker, maxace, Ashville steel,. Ps hardness of this new m390 variant is 61 average. Nice video bro. I'm subscribing. But think about telling us about you and what you use your knives for and maybe test them out and do a follow up vid
whats up! thanks for the comments a subscription. and maybe I worded it poorly, definitely not hard to open, just the edges of the switch would def rub my thumb raw if I was using it as a fidget toy. and I turn wrenches on helicopters all day so promise I dont have sissy hands, I can link a vid of a much bigger knife tuber sharing the same opinion on the "sharp" edges of the knife if youd like. and no offense taken, I appreciate criticism! edit: edges of the knife switch
just lube it too much repetitive hand play
Sorry! I'll time stamp it next time, it's a before/after lube vid not just the lube
Hope you claimed big time on her dumb cow. How can you enter into a fast road without checking kmt
she did it on purpose
Hey mate, do you authorize me to use your video in one of my editions? I leave the name and link in the description. Thank you for your attention .
Why none of you spoke ?. That girl pissed me off 🤬🤬
What one is yours?
The blue zx6r 636 at the end was mine haha
She was definitely on her phone, I still don't get drivers not making proper lane changes. Shooting straight over to the far left lane off of an exit. Silver lining she just paid for some upgrades
Smh texting and driving. All this tech nowadays with phones and gadgets I’m cars. Makes riding a bike just that much more dangerous.
It was completely her fault but you could have avoided going down
Fucking bitch was distracted with that phone.
Damn dude. I’d be crying for my bike
He didnt even get hit. He fell down before she came close and hit the back wheel of the bike.
David Truong cause he panick braked most likely. What would you have done mister good driver?
Fucking bitch still on her phone as she got out the car....😠
She had sun in her sight when crossed out
Hi man, is it Ok with you if I feature this video in my new compilation? I'll make sure to credit your channel, link and watermark. Thanks
yup, thats fine! thank you
@@wishonafish thanks man, I have finished my compilation and included you video, check out MOTORCYCLE CRASHES AND MISHAPS | BAD DRIVERS AND MOTO FAILS 2019 [EP.#12] and hopefully you'll find it good and add me to your list:) Thanks
Fucking bitch, fuck smartphone!
Song nya apa
now she got to paid you for fucking driving and texting fucking bitch.
women i swear. i didnt see you.
Hmmm her phone must be glued to her hand
"I didn't see you at all" is code for "I never looked, not even once"
Fucking Biiiaaatch
too many of them senseless cunts on the road
thanks for posting. I'm a new rider and shit like this pisses me off! stupid fucking motorists not paying attention. I hope that bitch's insurance bought this dude 2 new bikes!
Stupid bitch
You have to ALWAYS ride like they didn't see you. I would have never put myself in her blind spot. Car drivers aren't like bike riders, driving isn't their priority (ie texting, phones, chatting, radio, make up all come first). She was 100% as fault but there was plenty of things this rider could have done to not be in this scenario.
Dom Hawtin maybe you should rewatch the video... I did not put myself into her blind spot... at all...idk how you came to that conclusion, but you're entitled to your opinion. She was coming off of the interstate and tried to harshly cut across my lane and the solid white line at a sharp angle in order to get into the turning lane to my left. I've been riding on the street for 6 years and have avoided countless situations like this. I swerved immediately, but this was almost unavoidable.
Im not saying you were at fault at all, entirely her fault...but right rear side of her car? That's her blind spot, hence she said she didn't see you. Chances are she wasn't looking either. I've watched this a number of times and firmly believe that you could have defensively not been there...HOWEVER that all depends on when you saw her and from this camera angle I cannot see either yours or her speeds (no suggestion at all of wrong speeds...Im just saying I don't know how fast she was going or if you were at a constant speed, cant tell from video). If you saw her as she cut the lane then no chance for you...if you saw her as she entered your road then you could have done something, imho). That is my opinion from what little I can see of this....I wasn't there, you were and you have first hand knowledge of what actually occurred. Anyway the best thing is you're here, not injured and we are having this conversation. :) peace.
Dom Hawtin I understand where you're coming from, I just know you're wrong. & I know you're not saying I'm at fault, I just don't like being criticized about this situation from someone that was not there, but it's the Internet so it's expected just not welcomed. It was the left rear of the car* and if I did end up in her blind spot, I did not put myself there as my speed was constant at ~55mph. She was clearly going faster than me and I may have been in her blind spot for a split second as a result of her catching up and passing me. I swerved before her car even touched the white line. My friends that were there (also experienced riders) said there was nothing I could have done. If you've ever been in an accident that wasn't your fault, I'm sure you wouldn't have enjoyed people from the outside looking in, telling you that your lack of ability, riding style, and attentiveness kept you from avoiding it.
Dom Hawtin but again, we all have our opinions and though I disagree I respect yours. Have a good one
I appreciate your explanation and I get more from what you are mentioning that from the video. Like I say, I wasn't there and I only have the one video view. The left/right was a typo. I definitely am not commenting on any lack and apologise if that is how it comes across. Additional watches and noticing her running the bike over suggests her fast lane change were faster than initially thought. Everything is easy to critique from an armchair and perhaps my initial comments are somewhat naive and hasty. I will leave it at that. Glad you're ok.
Hope an astroid hits her fucking house while she's cooking!
Anyone else saw how fast she came out with a phone in her hand. She was texting and driving 100%.
i was like wtffff. where is she looking and then i saw mobile in her hands.
stupid dumbass bitch
shoulda got ABS
lordshampoo ....yeah because 06 636's had abs..as if it would've helped, I would've just been pancaked
f'ing car drivers - as a biker you've just got to assume the car driver is going to do the worst thing that they can. Makes it hard to ride and relax but seems to the only way you can keep yourself alive these days. Hope there wasn't to much damage and you're OK
unfortunately my frame slider got jammed into the frame bending it, so bike was totaled =/ I came out fine though
a fine for what? It was clearly her fault... THERE IS VIDEO PROOF WTF
No, he means he came out fine... as in it all worked out in his favour...
So I saw this on DirtBike Lunatic's page and I live right up the street from this!
i think she was texting.... be careful outhere!
That barbie zip-tied to the seat...that's an interesting accessory.. haha
love how she jumped out of the car with her phone right in her hand... you know why? cause she was F.N on it while driving a 2 tonnes wrecking machine... idiot cagers
