Not sure anyone will even look at this post after 7 years as I am just watching it for the first time at 63 years young. I fell in love with the Delos adventure this year -2024 -and you have given me a view into something I never had the courage to do in my younger years. Even in my older years now, I have more courage but get deathly seasick-I was once a diver😢. Anyway, I remember the pain of leaving in Josje’s words but she must follow her journey. Maybe one day it will bring her back, but thank you all for what your do and the gift of your adventure. Brian, you are an astronaut of the sea. No fear and you find a way of helping others love what you do. Karin ❤ your gentle nature. You soften every blow. Brady-your compassion for animals and the people you meet is inspiring. You teach us to be kind to all those around us. Max and Frida have been positive, beautiful, inspiring personalities on the adventure who will be missed and Babs ALWAYS has a smile on her face which just makes you feel good and her art is amazing. I don’t want to skip ahead to your real lives now as I am on your adventure and have to follow. Godspeed where ever you are now and know your story continues to even people in central West Texas.
Yow! Just looking through some of the comments and still surprised that assholes can put is such crude and rude remarks. Having lived 64+ years of life I know that life changes, even in paradise. It is going to be hard to see them go but go they must and it is up to us to remember the good times that we shared with these intrepid adventurers. On the personal level I will especially miss Frida and her artistic flare. Good luck to all. Oh, by the way, great video. It captured the real heart of Delos. Thank you for inviting us along.
Touching video. It really is sad to see Josie, Babs, Frida and Max leaving. It was really nice of them all to share a small portion of their lives while entertaining and inspiring I am sure many, many people throughout the world. I hope they are all doing well, everyone, is doing well now. As for me I feel like I got punched in the gut watching everyone's clips but I'll recover. You guys did an excellent job on this video it was great.
Very heartfelt and genuine guys. Feel sad about Josje and Babs, Max and Freida leaving Delos yet positive about the life decisions being made. And yes most importantly, continue to inspire people to do what they love!
Very well said. I have been dreading this video for over a year when we all first heard that Josje was leaving. I hate how far behind Delos is on the video timeline in relation to current Delos events. Good luck on all your future endevours Josje, Babs, Frieda and Max.
Spoken with intelligence, courage, and an emotional maturity beyond your years, Josje. You have my heartfelt hope that these same traits enable you to find the course in life that is uniquely yours and you are happy with the choices you make. If you were here, I would buy you a beer, :) so here is the cyber version. Tough to take now, but you are making a responsible decision.
Not to say that there haven't been some great new people on Delos since this, but in my mind, this will always be THE Delos crew. Smooth sailing to all.
Josje, you are really brave. A lot of people don't dare to make such drastic changes to their life. 4 years is very long period if you are just 22. You deserve to follow your dreams and learn and experience even more than you have. Good luck. And good luck Delos !!
A video like this one really explain why you guys have become regular members of entire families around the globe. Delos is nothing more then a sail boat. But Brian/Karin, Brady/Josje Max/Frida and Babs, you guys impacted us in many ways. You ensured that thousands of people around the world got the best medicine ever invented:, smiles and dreams and a good cry.. Tonight you also included tears. Over the last years i have learned to love Josje and Karin as they have been a part of my life. I am tied to a bed as i have fractured my back, but i have traveled from USA over the Pacific, up thru southern asia and i am now heading for Africa. Tonight i teared up when i saw the hurt in Bradys eyes, when the tears ran over Josjes Cheek. Tonight i was in Chagos and was hurt. Thank you guys for sharing your fantastic dream with us. If it is Brian, Brady and Karins Project Delos or it is Josjes Rama.Tree, Or what ever You other three guys are up to. I am very thankfull for you guys filling my lige with joy and happines,
We started watching your series exactly a year ago. 3 months after that you all inspired us to buy our yacht and we have been cruising ever since. We cannot wait for each new video of yours to come out to continue our inspiration to explore the seas further. An amazing journey as your group has provided, we are really looking forward to what the future holds for Delos and everyone on it now and coming soon. Keep doing exactly what you are all doing. Respect for keeping it so real too. 👍⛵️
Change is hard for us humans, especially leaving things and people that have brought us so much joy and laughter and growth. One of the things I appreciate about Delos is that it's like a Reality Show, without the drama. The maturity of the folks that ride on this boat is constantly impressive, and we all wish Brady and Josje the very best. Life goes on, and following the path that calls us, even when it calls us off of one that seems to be pretty much working, is the right and mature thing to do. Still, I cried...
It's awesome that everyone can remain relatively positive during a tough time. "Ch..ch..ch..ch..changes, turn and face the strange..ch..ch..changes." Watching Josje grow up the past several years has been a treat. Good luck & fair winds to all!
This was the most authentic and real video yet. It's the sailing and paradise that lures us in, but its the people that hook us. The more real, not necesarily sad or on a downer, but about what really makes you guys who you are, the deeper the hook sets... Thanks to the crew for having the guts to put themselves out there. Thanks to Chagos for giving the emotional space to allow that to happen. Fair winds to one and all.
I found this 'channel' - then decided to start from the beginning. I've already seen arrivals and departures of many 'crew' mates - but this one affected me, cause I loved this girl and her 'fun' attitude. Everyone is inspiring really, and yeah - mainly it's fun which is very cool right now. But I'm gonna miss this girl when she leaves. Anyway, thanks Delos.
I really liked Frida and Max. I hope some day they can crew on Delos again. My second time watching this 2x to Madagascar series. Great crew. Sorry to see it break up but all things must change eventually.
Babs, you are a GEM of high value, beautiful, sparkly and strong. Whomever you choose to share your life with is going to be so lucky. You are a wonderful women, you brought many smiles to my face. Although I never smelled your cooking, I always came away with the impression it was good. I loved the smiles it put on the Delos faces, including yours. You seem to enjoy doing for others. I am sad to see you go, but I know you will always be there for Josje. She is so lucky to have you as a sister. May you find the joy of your life. Take care. Best regards my friend James
After watching this video and was sadden by the news I had to go back and watch it again and really listen to what they all said. It was heart felt and I imagine it must have been so hard for all of them. But, I admire that they knew what they wanted in life and made that hard decision. Like most here who have watched over the months have enjoyed the fun and excitement of each video, I so look forward to Friday. I am 70 plus and wished I would have had the guts if you will to do what they have done and will continue to do. To all you young ones out there follow your dream...don't be an old guy who wished life may have been different.
Hi my name is Rudy, I'm a 50 year old man, I'm disabled, I wish so much i could experience an adventure like yours. I hope you all realize how very fortunate you are. Some of us will never have that freedom. So happy for you all! I wish you love and success! God's speed Delos! Thank you for sharing your adventures!! Simply inspired!!
Rudy: dont let your disability stop you from having adventures. Yes, the scope of hat you may be able to do might be different but that doesnt mean you have to sit at home only dreaming of such things. Work out what you want to do and what it would take for you to go then put that plan into action!
All is well that ends well. Very true indeed! Josie's contribution to Delos has been outstanding! She has a gift in that when EVER the camera was upon her she could make it so authentic and upbeat about ANYTHING, its in her nature, even a boring night watch was somehow like a little kid watching a busy bee on a flower for the first time. Full of wonder full of amazement, Wow! Sail on Delos we love watching your videos the sailing and diving, you are doing for us all!
I will miss Josje, she was always my favourite. Guessing that life without fulfilment is death, so she is doing the right thing. I wish her all the best.
I have been watching from day one! I saw the change of a couple and a brother, to two brothers and then this amazing crew-friends-sailors-explorers taking shape and form. I say myself change-my love of sailing grow to the point of telling my land loving family that this is the life I want, our plans are still taking shape and form-my profile pic is not of my boat, but the boat of my dreams-positive affirmations. This is the saddest sailing video I have ever watched from SV Delos. I too, knew it was coming because I read you blogs and FB page. I have bee waiting for it but never understood how deeply it would effect me. Truly, S/V Delos, you inspire beyond your understanding. This crew of friends and family have inspired many thousands to take stock of their lives and look at themselves and what they are doing in a whole different light. I wish for you continued happy sailing and only the best. I will miss this crew and will re-visit you often in past videos... much love!
I was dreading this day, Josje, Babs, Frida and Max you are going to be missed by the Delos Tribe here on land. Your decisions are heartfelt and respected by us. We will soldier on and still enjoy the ongoing adventures of Breyawn, Karin and The Braidster and hope for the day you each come back for a visit and a cruise. Love and respect.
Thank you all for sharing your lives with us. It's easy to share the highs but also important to share the lows. I will miss those that are moving on and hope to hear how they are doing in their new endeavors. Brian, Brady and Karin I look forward to your new adventures with your new crew! You are all so inspirational and entertaining. You have made a huge impact on our lives. We will never be the same as we were before we were able to peek into your magical world.
Sad to see Josje and Babs leave Delos... Also all the best to Frida and Max. Hope to see them return to the adventure. I wish them all much Love and success where ever they go. Keep Sailing!!!
Josje did an awesome job of explaining her reasons for leaving Delos.....and was very thoughtful and emotional and concerned about the Delos crew members, including those of us that follow these episodes. I find her to be a very intelligent, creative and loving 22 year old.....and I will sorely miss her presence on Delos.
Well. Shit. I knew this episode was coming. Didn't make watching it any easier though. Interesting how connected you can get with people you really never meet. I guess that just shows how real they were on these videos. They did make you feel like they were talking to you...I've loved that, being taken along, sharing the adventure, sharing the dream. I'm going to miss you so....
I think that Josje made an excellent point: If you want to do something, then do it, and everything else will work out. It's just so perfect that the sign behind her read "Do what you love, The rest will follow". That speech has pushed me into getting a masters degree: Something I have been contemplating, but afraid to act on. Regardless, I wish Josje all the best of luck in her new life that she will be building. And my best wishes are with Max and Frida as they battle the most difficult of battles.
Josji you all are not fake characters like on a tv show your very real ,I 'm sure many of the viewers if not all have become very fond of you,All the best keep us updated please .Fair Winds
Karin, Brady, and Brian. I love Delos. I can't believe Iv'e been enjoying your show for half a decade. Thank yo so much! The work you do is enjoyed by so many people. I am so glad you plan to continue the Delos project. I always look forward to seeing your work. If it is bed time and I find out you upload a video, I can't go to bed until I have watched it. That is what happened last night. Brian, I'd to see you, Rick Moore, Sophisticated lady and Riley, La Vagabonde get together and have a video discussion. Seven people living together in such a small space for so long is hard and hard to manage. Brian your a good Capitan/Skipper for allowing it and making it last this long. Anyway what you do is awesome. Can't wait to see your smiling faces in your next video. Best wishes to each and every one of you.
..a dose of reality comes to S/V Delos...everyone grows in their own way....resistance is futile. but we love watching your adventures and your lives. As a long time follower, I attribute the Delos adventure as a partial reason for my own, new, live aboard life in the BVI. Thanks
Wow. This caught me off guard. I cant get over how much Josje's decision to leave affected me. I started following this vlog from the beginning because it was a nice little diversion from real life but damn I never expected I would feel such emotions from following it! I guess I'm wrapped up in this more than I thought!
It's sad, but that's evolution, and maturing. Things change, ideas come and go. Delos is a great story of young adults searching for themselfs and learning about each other, and other cultures. I wish I had had a Delos in my early adult life, I wouldn't have made so many mistakes. I'm retiring soon, and plan on going on a similar adventure. You are an inspiring group. Delos is anchored in me. Best of luck to all, be safe! Cheers!
It was refreshing to see that the Delos Family is not all "Rainbows and Sunshine", life simply isn't that way for anyone. Thanks for sharing the good times and the bad with all of your fans. To those departing - "Fair Winds and Following Seas" on your next adventures, we will miss you. To those carrying forward, please keep the Delos mission alive. You are inspiring. :) Mahalo nui loa ~ Dale
Josje, thanks for all you brought to the Delos Tribe. You're an amazing human being. All the very best of luck to you and yours. Don't go too far! Cheers!
Life is what happens to your plans. All you can do is go through it with friends and family. And watching this for the first time in October 2020, Delos is the most amazing adventure I've found on UA-cam. Times and people change, and change is really, really hard. Fantastic voyage, and I will continue to enjoy the voyage, regardless of the instances of pain that come from change. And I will end with, you go Josje, you go!
Best episode yet - because it's about real life. I've done the round-the-world several times, the connecting and disconnecting and reconnecting with "normal" life, and it doesn't get easier as you get older because every time the chances of doing it again get slimmer. Follow your dreams, don't wait, keep doing it, rinse and repeat!!! 😊 Good luck to the Delos peeps, on and off the boat.
I want you all Delos crew to know, you have been a massive, MASSIVE influence on me buying a yacht January or February next year. I have watched you guys from the start and watched you grow as a crew. It's been an absolute pleasure. Max, my heart goes out to you mate. I lost my nan not too long ago and feel your heartache. Go be with your family. It's the right thing to do. Josje, what can I say. You have been bubbly and fun and great to watch. Good luck on your next adventure, whatever that may be. Sad to be losing both you Frida and Babs. 2 of the bubbliest on board. Brian and Brady, new crew, new fun times. Love to you all.
Thanks for all the good times Yosh. Be strong and find your dream. Good luck to you all and thanks for sharing your many ups and downs as you sail our beautiful planet. Fair winds, Delos.
Drama reaches Delos. in this world where everyone wants to show how the best and most successful they are, and confuse followers with best friends and who dislike what they show or do are confused as enemies. at a time when the social media seems more important than to be present in the lives of loved ones. Delos has the courage to show a video where it seems the world has collapsed. People beloved and charismatic go away, the drone break, the main engine is leaking, etc. But Delos go ahead. Because the world will keep spinning. And we hope for better days beyond the horizon. For all who sail with or without Delos, we know they are not characters in a story, but lives that we admire to follow this short time. thanks for sharing with us. God bless you all.
Commiserations Max. Safe travels back home. Big changes and all together. Bets of luck to all who are leaving. You will be missed. Brian, Karen and Brady, I look forward to your future adventures. I'm sure you have inspired many people to follow their dreams.
Life goes on, it always does. Brady nailed it when he said many people make the mistake of not growing and do not realize it for 10 yrs. Proof everyone on board will continue living, growing and have no regrets. Cheers to you all.
You guys had a good energy, sorry to see things change. But things always change. I am 64 years old and I have to say from my perspective it is interesting to watch the life decisions young people make. I think what you are all doing is great. The only word of caution I would give you is to not forget to plan for when you are 64 and older. Plan now you won't regret it, but live your dreams.
There is a big change in your life from an 18 year old to a 22 year old. From a kid to an almost adult. No one wants to be doing what they were doing at 18 when they are 22. You are not the same person. I'm not trying to figure out who was at fault or otherwise. I have noticed that Yoshe has become a real sailor. She was dropping the anchor, hoisting the anchor, taking the helm, loading the dinghy. Doing all of the things that a real "crew member" does. Not having to be asked but doing it because it needs to be done. She did all of this with a certain seriousness that would be hard to find on many 22 year olds. All of that is remarkable for a 22 year old on a sailboat full of older crew members. She wasn't intimidated by them. I'm proud of her and the Delos crew for training her so well. Captain Brion is a good captain. He puts together a reliable crew.
Still very sad even though I've known its been coming for so long. I didn't know about why Max, Babs, and Frida were leaving so that was a shock. I've been there with Max being stuck in another country when a family member was lost and I couldn't get back in time for the funeral etc. Can't wait for the next video when the ocean decides to give her bounty to you guys on the last passage. Thats what I love about fishing and the ocean. She can be so cruel or so kind and I think she knew what you guys needed for a good passage. For an artist like Josje I think the 4 years on the boat was like college for many. I didn't realize she was so young. Life goes on you never know what will happen. I'm so happy I traveled all over central and south America surfing when I was young. Also got to spend months and months every year fishing and spearfishing in the bahamas. All my friends that got married and had kids in their early 20's are all divorced now and missed out on many adventures. You never in 5 years Josje and Brady may meet up again and realized they are meant to be or have found others.
Most Powerful Episode Yet. Thank you all for sharing what had to be some of the rawest moments of your life. The irony of the episode that it is the least like all the others yet speaks the message that I hear from Delos the strongest ... love and wonder. Go out in the world with love and wonder. Its not an easy path to practice that Buddhist kind of love. We want to hold on. We want the security of the known. I still work every day not to cling to expectations. I love the people in my life because letting that flow feels good and natural. When my expectations get in the way things go sideways. Brady and Josje - Bravest and strongest examples of loving another and yourself at the same time. Namaste and smooth sailing.
Loved the crew, they were all great and wish them all the best in their next adventures. I have followed Delos for years with hopes that will continue for many years to come. As with all great stories I hope your next chapter is better than the last.
You now I'm sure it wasn't easy for you all to share this video but it is nice to see you all share it at the same time, so the audience isn't wondering wtf happened. Props to you all and wish you nothing but the best.
Wow. What a heart felt time for you all. My heart is wrenching for guys. Delos is inspiring me to be a better person and I love your videos,I feel honored to contribute to your dreams as you help me. Josje good luck in all that you do!!
They are all doing the right thing, I am 53, and following your gut is the best advice I could give any young person, do that, and have no regrets and move forward through life.
you will be missed Josje, Freida and max. I feel like I know everyone on that boat and I care for you all even though I have never personally met you. Brady I know this is exceptionally hard for you because I can see the Love you have for Josje. She loves you and she may return you never know. Keep your chin up and keep punching. Happy trail's to y'all :)
Wow, like others it is hard to say anything, I had never heard your sailing adventure called the Delos experiment, yes having Josje, Frida, Max and Babs leaving is not a fun part of your adventure, in fact it saddens me greatly. All of you have been what made Delos the great video of your lives and adventure to watch, the good part about it is that Brian, Karin and Brady will continue to tease us with some great videos. Interesting watching Josje tear full good bye was the poster behind her, it read "do what you love, he rest will follow", this is just the exact feeling we should all have and I suspect it is what Delos is all about. I hope you all find what you are living for!
A lovely touching episode and in many ways also inspirational. All of you have a huge following of adoring viewers you must know that whatever you do or wherever you all go you will have a special place in the hearts of us all. Good luck all of you in your endeavours.
I really loved this season. You guys had a great vibe and really brought a lot of inspiration to me, so thank you all. To Josje - I wish I had had the courage to follow my heart at 22, and not bow to the expectations of family, society, and what I thought would please others. My decisions led to heartache and loss for me and it is only now, years later, that I am finding my own path. I believe there are no regrets when you follow your heart and intuition. The regrets come when you don't. Best wishes to all of you as you move forward in this interesting and always changing thing that is life.
I hear you, and I committed the same mistake at the age of 22 (I guess that 22 is a bad #), I got involved with the wrong person, who not only broke my heart but also branched me into something I had to deal years later... thanks God I found my way years later, but years lost or wasted are gone. Go with that Gut feeling and don't look back.
you are all so inspiring not because you run for adventure but because you are so true to yourselves on land and sea. wishing you all the best Josj, Babs and Fridia and Max. Much love!
Just a reminder, Life is not all sunshine and rainbows. No matter what geographical location, or financial situation, life has its ups and downs. Never the less, your "Delos project" has put many smiles on your fellow earth dwellers, and has encouraged many of us to dream of sunshine and rainbows. So thank you to all the crew, and especially those that have made tough choices, to follow a new path to their enlightenment. Can't wait to meet the new crew and experience Madagascar and Africa through the eyes of your adventurous souls. Cheers to your journey!
I can't think of a more amazing way to enter adulthood then to go on a four year adventure on Delos. It's natural for Josje to start wanting to see what else the world has to offer. I discovered the Delo's videos about six months ago and have good memories about past crew members and adventures. The current crew has been awesome but I'm looking forward to what's in store for Delo's. Well done all of you! I hope to keep updated on all the crew members of Delo's both past and present.
Thanks Josie, Babs, Frida and Max for making us smile. You have been an inspiration. I know you guys and all of Delos have helped me to realize life is to be lived to the fullest!
great vid guys. Feel for Max, sorry to hear about his loss. All the change must create sadness and a bit of anx of whats to come but that is the point isn't it, choosing to navigate exciting paths and exploring the unknown, geographically and in your selves. thats what you guys are out there doing and I'm stoked to see where it takes you all. Kia Kaha to the Kiwi girls and the whole crew!
Much respect to Brady and Josje for sharing those feelings. Going thru a similar situation in my own life (albeit a bit later in life) but those raw feelings seem to come in waves. The rational thinking brain knowing it's the right thing to move on and the heart and love part feeling the pain of the loss of that once beautiful relationship. Thank you for contributing to the healing. Planning my escape...see you soon!
We love you all! We are with you for what ever you go through. The bad times and the good times. We have been with you for all that you you have put on video. We support you all. Do what you need to do and we are behind you. Grow, live and be happy.
There always comes that time when things need taken care of, and things need to grow. Look at it as you are all ageing and will turn into a fine wine that will in the long run benefit the DELOS Project. In a couple of years it will be bigger and better I HOPE, have enjoy all of you for years It is sad but I do understand we have all been there. Big ASS hugs for all of you and I will always stay tuned.
Everyone of us that watch these cant help but feel love for all of you . Your like our sisters and brothers that we care about and want the best for. You will all do well at anything you do. Much love to you. Those of you leaving will be missed greatly.
I want ya'll to know ya'll have definatly helped us realize our dreams and go for them. We left Austin, Tx and moved to Florida to get our own sailboat to travel the world and every video ya'll make helps us stay on our path no matter how hard it gets. So I wanted to personally thank you for letting us be part of it and keeping us inspired.
So lucky you have been to have all this time and adventure together. No matter what you do, the challenging times can only be so difficult now that you have all these experiences to reflect on and enjoy over and over again. How amazing it is that you have the daring and courage to take this journey. People around the world are living vicariously through your voyage. Personally, we are no different from many others, economically bonded and slammed, pulling all-nighters--as they say on Arakis, the spice must flow! Like many, we scheme to make the big escape--in the meantime, Delos is a real thrill. Sail on!
Josje thank you so much for all the smiles you have brought to my face. Thank you so much for sharing your decision in such personal way. You will be missed, but not forgotten. May you find what your heart searches for. You are so brave, so bold, full of courage, you have a wonderful spirt, and time waits for no one. May time and tide be in your favor though. I wish I had the words to articulate to you the hope I have for you, and the joy your smiling face has brought to many. The salt has left my tears of sadness and now they are sweet tears of joy for you. I hope you face the challenge of shore life with the same boldness, courage and smile you had at sea. A profound thank you for being true to yourself. Josje you are an awesome person. Best wishes James.
"Respekt" is the perfect word to describe the experience you get from delos crew in their videos. Not just how they deal with hard descisions, but how they deal about a lot of other things like nature, their inviroment and (for them) foreign cultures. I like that a lot. Good luck and "fair winds"!
Wow...I'm surprised how invested I've become in these people I've never met. It's moving and cathartic to hear about these changes and I wish nothing but Aloha for all of you going forward...Mahalo for sharing this bit of your life with us...
It is sad to see Josje, Babs, Max and Frida leave the boat, but the Delos project has shown it has sustained and grown. Thanks for being so open emotionally on this episode.
Hey guys , great as always. Its wonderful to see how people grow and mature. You will always have the last 4 years, you are all great people and amazing together but this is not the end but an start of something new and wonderful. You have inspired me to buy a boat and sail way and to be OPEN to new things. Always the best
while going through some tough times and soul searching myself you guys have made me smile, burst out laughing and shed quite a few tears. You guys have inspired me and many others im sure to chase dreams and step out of the comfort zone and for that i wish you all, all the happiness and luck you so desperately deserve for sharing this magical and inspiring journey you have spent many hours putting together. Love to you all from me and the rest of Australia. Good luck with the rest of your journey to all.
Wow thank you very much for the very heart warming comment! Knowing that we helped you through some tough times means the world to us and we really appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Fair winds and wishing you all the best from South Africa!
Sailing SV Delos omg, thankyou so much for the reply, wasn't expecting that and cheers for taking the time to do so, means alot. Peace, love and fair winds to you guys also. Still cant believe you peeps actually replied, massive smiles and soooo stoked.😄
He, or she, replied to me too,, Its a shocker isn't it? I called my roommates over and yelled I got a reply I got a reply, he actually talked to me.. then reality set in. They have a ton of time on their hands..lol,, Probably not as much as I think. Nottys1, I feel ya.
Thomas Williams yeah mate i was pretty stoked with the reply, i spent 5 and a half years on boats from running the deck on game fishing boats out of hamilton island in the whitsundays and had the pleasure of taking a new cruiser beneteau cant remeber the size but it was bigger than the 40ft O'Brian (game fishing boat) i was on at the time from able point marina back to hamilton island as my mate that worked for sunsail didnt have a Coxwain ticket, as i have one he asked me to help skipper it for him, Skippering smaller boats also in the whitsundays from the mainland and then up to weipa running fishing charters out of six meter run abouts 99% of the time they were long days averaging 12 to 14 hour days. There is soooo much maintenance in keeping a vessel presentable, running efficiently, safe and the list goes on. What we see on here with these legends on delos is a very small percentage of what goes on in sailing around the world. Generally the bigger the crew the workload is smaller per person, as in whos on watch, checking charts/navigation and rechecking, rationing food, fuel, water etc etc. there is always something to be done this is why i was sooo stoked to get the responce. The motion of the ocean can be sooo tiring on the body but these guys not only love it but make it look easy and credit to them. Im far from a sailor but just thought id give you a little insight into the life on the water referring to your ( i think they have heaps of time to respond ) i mean no disrespect to you at all champ you obviously love these guys as much as the rest of their followers and how amazing would it be to meet these guys and shout them a few rums/beers and have a chat. If this is old information to you i apologize and disregard everything ive just said. Cheers mate.
It was almost as exciting to get a reply from you as it was from Brian. I enjoyed hearing about your sailing exploits and your love and connection to the sea. I'm land locked in the southern end of the state of Utah. My sailing experience is short and sweet, Im from Chicago and I have a friend that sails but I hardly went because it bored me. My brother belonged to the san Diego yacht club where he could rent a small sailboat to run around the harbor..Oh yea, I almost for got, I was on board the USS Nimitz for a couple of years, an aircraft carrier is one big ass vessel. I loved being on the water but not passionately. The Video's are watched by a lot of people who don't sail but get something out of watching the dynamic and relationships of these peeps, not to mention the music. the whole thing is a beautiful recipe for those who love life. My statement was a joke about all the time they have out on the ocean. Oh, just a couple more thing,,, I would like to chat a little more with you about the delos. Im more knowledgeable about whats going on now but at first I didn't know who owned the boat, who was attached to whom, etc. do you mind talking just a bit? I will start by asking if you are concerned as I am about the amount of booze they consume. Im a recovering alcoholic and I know for sure that one of the ways to become an alcoholic, besides the usual mental issues, is like collage kids that drink a lot for many days on end. so even if your not predisposed to becoming a drunk some people can force it upon themselves. but I will be the last one to label anyone an alcoholic. everyone is different. Enough of my ramblings for now, we are fellow fans, adios amigo
I feel so sad , but I know change is a constant of life . I wish you all the best and I know once you live together you are family for life , no matter where the roads or winds take you ! bless you all !
To the crew of the Delos. I can hardly describe the energy that all of you project thru the screen. Since Ep. 57 the magic of the seven of you has captivated me and my three teenage daughters thoroughly. At times watching you interact with the locals and custom agents is like some massive star in space and all that encounter you are drawn down into your gravity well. Simply amazing to witness. Thank you all so very much for the wonderful times. Until we meet again I wish you all smooth sailing. Josfe..the true measure of courage is not being afraid...but acting when you are most afraid. You are an amazing and talented young woman. Follow that intuition and your heart always in life and your regrets will be short lived.
I just came across this series and started watching it. These kids are amazing! I don't think I've ever seen a bunch of kids in their early twenties take on such bold challenges before. Good stuff!!
I founded the company social bluebook so creators could make the money they deserve doing what they love. This show is awesome. It has the same values. I'm sad to see your mates leaving and I hope Delos continues to sail. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
This was a great Crew and the videos showed that!! Delos will continue on and the new crew (whoever they are) will be great. All the best Josje, Babs, Max and Frida. Cheers from Canada.
Emotional vid but from the heart of a genuine bunch of well liked people. I'm sure many more videos to bring us a smile or two - Ultimately they all have had and some continue to have a life many will not experience but we all appreciate the sharing of your life on Delos - Fair winds always guys and gals.
Of course the crew changed a long time ago. It was not secret on other, real time social media sites. I think all is well, everyone is following their path, as we all must. I was impressed with Frida's dreamcatcher. It was a nice thing to leave as a tribute and a piece of art for other visiter to enjoy. Well done Frida. Well done all.
Whenever I feel I am losing my mind and my way I turn to watching Delos you are amazing people all of you...I am inspired you all inspired me thank you ...what ever will happen is going to happen until then live every second of that beautiful creature you have created...🙏🏻🌈😊...won’t be quite the same to watch and very sad like Apple in the throat sad..come back soon...pleeeaaase...☺️
Amazing to feel the emotional connection after having been a stowaway since pretty early in your UA-cam sharings. Sad to see everyone's path deviat but life does that sometimes and allows for sweet reunion possibilities in the future. I look forward to seeing where everyone's path takes them. Realizing the time difference between filming and publishing, this has to be a little difficult for all to relive. Fair winds to all and thanks again for sharing a part of yourselves with us.
Dear Brady, Josje and Delos crew, You’ve all inspired me so much with your videos. Although I obviously don’t know you guys, you feel somehow like ‘family’ to me. You are a group of beautiful individuals and I have the sincere impression that you are ‘made for each other’. Living together for a long time in a small confined space did take its toll I suppose… I sincerely hope that your paths Brady and Josje will someday cross again, I really do. As for my marriage, I’m still very grateful of being together with the girl of my dreams I met when I was 18 years of age. As we grew older, still being together, my wife ( then girlfriend) also needed time for herself so we went our own ways for at about one year. As you so beautifully described: our roots were still bonded, only for the branches to go their own ways. We found each other after one year and never separated again ( nor will we). We married and during the ceremony we cited Kahlil Gibran: (…) Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. (…) Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. (…) And stand together yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. These quotes pretty much define the essence of ‘our being together’. I hope you both have the strength to cherish your roots and pay respect for the individual needs right now. Discover and get to know yourself. You’ll only be able to truly value the ‘normal’ things in life once you’ve lost them for a sustained period of time. I sincerely hope that your branches will converge in time and Delos to be the ‘anchor’ in the moving sea between the shores of your souls I wish you all strength and wisdom…. Sincerely, Maxim Besters
be not the strings of the lute....be the music. Be that which nothing can separate. Two souls, each a piece of the other. Love brings those pieces together and complete the soul. Be not the strings of the lute, be the music.
My heart sank. Very sad times. Happy that everyone is following their dreams though. Kind of mixed feelings of happy and sad. I wish you all the best in the pursuit of your dreams. Josje Freida and Max, I will miss you guys. There's only one turn on that merry go round so make it count.
Thanks for watching through earlier videos, it means a lot to us. Cheers to you and don’t skip ahead!!!! Its a hell of a good story. Fair winds- Brian
These videos and your stories have changed my way of thinking. I want to thank you all for that.
Brady, I am impressed with your emotional maturity, understanding her decision. You are a class act.
💜
❤
Well said!
Very well said. I have been dreading this video for over a year when we all first heard that Josje was leaving. I hate how far behind Delos is on the video timeline in relation to current Delos events. Good luck on all your future endevours Josje, Babs, Frieda and Max.
You can always follow josja and babz on their youtubez at 'ramatree'...
Take care. Best regards my friend
James
Best episode ever. I will miss Josje, Max and Frida but change is a part of life.
DAM MY HEART IS BREAKING. I WILL MISS ALL FOUR OF YOU. GOOD LUCK TO YOUR NEW ADVENTURES AND THAT MAX'S FAMILY MANY PRAYERS
I wish her all the best.
facebook.com/theramatree/ follow her here.
Condolences to Max & Frieda for their loss. To Josje best of luck in your future plans. U will be missed

Cheers!
After years of following SVdelos ,this has been the most the most emotional vlog ever...
Just love you Delos Crew.....old and new. You inspire me.
shelly sizemore you've got a beautiful smile
Thank you Josje for everything you shared with us. Follow your dreams.
Now there's a real man. That's how you deal with a breakup. He actually wishes her the best. Awesome man. Your a great model for me. hat's off to ya.
B Mckinnon for real much respect to him I don't know if I could be that strong and understanding.
It’s a fucking UA-cam show. Obviously he was Pissed. Later on he finds a HOTTER girl anyway.
My heart goes out to the crew of Delos this is not easy, I hope all find happiness in all that they pursue. I will miss all of you.
Commiserations Max. Safe travels back home. Big changes and all together. Bets of luck to all who are leaving. You will be missed. Brian, Karen and Brady, I look forward to your future adventures. I'm sure you have inspired many people to follow their dreams.
Thanks for sharing this rough patch in the journey that is Delos. You people have made a difference in the world.
Brady finds himself a new friend in South Africa. A Swedish sailor girl.

I hope Josje finds her path :) Thank you for all the inspiring videos, I hope you feel my heart from a far.

Such a hard episode to watch , yet the Delos spirit perseveres. I really appreciate this channel and Delos it has truly impacted my life.
you are all so inspiring not because you run for adventure but because you are so true to yourselves on land and sea. wishing you all the best Josj, Babs and Fridia and Max.
Beautiful beautiful people aboard S V Delos.Wishing you all great times ahead.
Beautiful video guys. Thank you for your efforts in sharing.
I have dreaded this episode.
Me too. Saw it was coming a little while ago. Didn't make it any easier to watch though.
Jeffrey Lane same
yup, same here
I can't think of a more amazing way to enter adulthood then to go on a four year adventure on Delos.
You can never go wrong when you follow your heart and stick by your decisions & principles. Good luck Josha
Life is a series of 'hellos' and 'goodbyes'. Change is good. Perfectly natural, but can be painful at the moment.
This was a great Crew and the videos showed that!! Delos will continue on and the new crew (whoever they are) will be great. All the best Josje, Babs, Max and Frida. Cheers from Canada.
Going to miss you guys. Do what makes you happy. Can't wait to see what the future brings you guys and S/V Delos. Sail on...
Life is about change. People change, that's life. Best episode yet Delos! Keep it up !
Dear Brady, Josje and Delos crew,
You’ve all inspired me so much with your videos.
We married and during the ceremony we cited Kahlil Gibran:
(…)
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
(…)
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
(…)
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
I sincerely hope that your branches will converge in time and Delos to be the ‘anchor’ in the moving sea between the shores of your souls
I wish you all strength and wisdom….
Sincerely,
Maxim Besters
be not the strings of the lute....be the music.
