I would literally pay millions or even my last ounce of my soul to be there and have that experience with all of you amazing people! Very sad I know, but your living my dream and its so hard to watch yet amazing. I really hope you forever cherish every second of it. the good with the bad, and it's so hard to believe that Josje is gone back to another life now. I weep at the thought of it! I would so buy a monohull over a cat just for the extreme experience you live! Love, Love, Love YOU ALL......
You guys/gals, I should say sailors because you are truly sailors, are awesome! You have done what I & I've no doubt most everyone watching your videos have always wanted to do but have never dared. With moderate sailing experience, you have conquered the world & your fears using common sense, intelligence, knowledge & the wisdom that only comes with experiencing your passions, dreams & expectations. I say expectations last & most importantly because dreams are often left un-realised. Expectations, you can pursue, conquer & realise. I am a recent subscriber, have left a few comments on other videos, have watched what I believe to be every video you have uploaded on UA-cam. Good on all of you. Please, for the sake of all of us following your journey, carry on & may you have beyond fair, even fabulous winds & wonderful following seas! You have without question, inspired so many countless souls who also want to follow their passions & by that, somewhat in your path & by your invaluable advice, experiences & sharing of such, I have no doubt that many will do just that. You are all a very rare & treasured resource (it certainly doesn't hurt that you are all beautiful people, both physically & in spirit) for the rest of us in-landers wishing to pursue the often challenging but what forever will be a no-regrets pursuit of a life well lived. Again, all the best to each & every one of you. Those who have sailed with you for a short time & long are all included. Safe journeys & here's to many more years of fulfilment, adventures & stories your progeny, family & friends & even those of us who have no relation other than through a screen will happily recall to all who would have ears to hear. You are doing something far greater & far more significant than you could possibly realise. I've said it before in another comment but I will say it again. If you ever find yourselves back on Vancouver Island, please upload a video prior to your visit. It would be an honour beyond any I can think of at the moment to meet you all & share in your stories & carry with me the wonderful & rare brush of sheer delight & life that you all carry with you in your pursuit of happiness, fulfilment & the life worth living. SV Delos is a good, good thing & you are all, together representing her well, in good spirits & sharing your good fortune with those of us who also aspire to such a challenging & fulfilled life. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you! You have hammered & fully prosecuted the dull, monotonous, fruitless ideals of life on land & collecting & pursuing worthless things of little or no value! The verdict is in & you are non culpable for the rest of us poor souls lost in a circuitous rat-race for all that is unworthy. For the sake of all that is good & worthy, please continue on your paths of adventure, life experience, travel & understanding of both yourselves & the cultures you encounter. Perhaps, just perhaps, you may effect change beyond your understanding in a very good way. There is no question that you have thus far inspired countless thousands via your videos & sharing your experiences. Very long comment. My apologies if this is inconvenient to read but there are so many words of praise & acknowledgement, I find it difficult to restrain myself. Carry on! Carry on! Carry on!
This video made me laugh so much when you were all discussing how much you missed certain foods and dreaming about them. Cherish all the moments, good or bad. Love your videos, keep em coming!
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures. I will never be able to do anything like this so getting to see it all courtesy of you lovely generous people is a real privilege. Thank you sooooo much!
Originally I wrote, "I love the technical and boat stuff the most!", but your balance between stories, history, personalities, adventure, tourism, culture, etc doesn't suck at all!
I LOVE SEEING THE WORLD THROUGH YOUR EYES AS I SAID BEFORE.I HAVE TRAVELED A LOT BUT MOST OF MY TRAVEL HAS BEEN ON CRUISE SHIPS NOT THE GREAT WAY YOU GUYS ARE DOING IT. FEW PEOPLE HAVE SEEN THE MANY SMALL ISLANDS AND MET SUCH GREAT PEOPLE. PART OF MEETING GREAT PEOPLE IS YOU GUYS GREAT PERSONALTIES . I AM STILL WONDER4ING HOW THE COUPLES MET.
You guys are SO amazingly awesome! I've watched the entire series 4 times now. Actually got to live chat with you once as well :) ~Master Seaman, Royal Canadian Navy (Ret'd) Mike Grady
Thanks for another great video guys. It prompted me to look into the history of the Chagos Islands. WOW! I never knew this history that the UK and US removed the people from their homeland. Man! this is crazy! Thanks for posting this video and opening my eyes.
Great video Delos crew. Keeping me motivated to get everything done so I can get on my boat and go next summer. Really looking forward to the next adventure. Fair winds and following seas!
SV Delos, I really enjoy your videos. I am in the process of going back and watching all of your older videos so I can "catch up" on all the trips. Thanks for sharing. With so small a space and that many people, do tempers ever flare up? I feel for you craving different foods, LOL. Keep the videos coming. I look forward to every Friday's new one. Hello from Texas.
Jerry Beavers the answer is yes. they talked about that a long time ago in one of the video's or maybe it was in an interview with one of them for tv or something. anyway it was said that they had ??weekly?? sessions to speak up and tell everyone about their feelings and irritations. and then still there are some fights but during a fight going to get a camera is not something that will be the first thing that pops into your mind and second is that it not really will contribute to a good delos movie with a positive vibe
Thanks for your reply, I have been in the process of going back and viewing all of their past videos and I did find that one where they have a roundtable discussion to air all their gripes. I am trying to catch up to their newest videos. Getting close. LOL Thanks again dexter.
OK, enough, after years watching you guys have all the fun, me and the misses are off to collect our own boat next week. It's a 42 footer CatA go anywhere boat, so will be seeing your out there, well we will do when we have got through the refit.
you know how to tease someone I am jealous. I am at work and I checked for stuff to watch on my break. I would love to do what you are. you rock be safe
Great video, here in Ohio we are having our first frost. All our boats are coming out for the winter on Lake Erie, so depending on you guys to help the time pass, no pressure.
I use to live in Ohio, but now I'm in Iowa. Back in the summer of 1982, and the summer of 1983, I spent 3 months each up on Sugar Island working on a few houses on that island. I miss the lake.
Josie is Magical... what a mammal!.. and a Helmsman... rock on Josie.. in time half the whole world will thrill to the Bravery and character of your deep soul... who could ever know you more than Brady... You two are perfect for each other... Wishing you all good health and happy cruising... in this life and the next...
You all are doing what I dreamt about many, many moons ago, the closest I got was sailing the Great Lakes on a 36' Tartan with friends when we graduated high school in 1975 ... keep it up and fly with the winds.
I love these videos, you have done another great job with this one. How you make sailing a boring passage entertaining, I'm not sure, but its really great to see how you are living on passage.
Always amazing. When you are out at see for so long you really get to appreciate the little things like letting the time pass by watching the waves or catching that big one that feeds you for days. Keep it up guys :-)
You might want to try setting up your spinnaker extenders to use them as out riggers and also try multiple hook "schools" of bait fish as it will attract large mass feeding fish such as tuna.
The beginning reminds me of the Blair Witch Project...I was waiting for the snot bubble to come out of the nose! Good Luck sailing with the new addition!
Brian, you've read the Aubrey-Maturin series of books by Patrick O'Brien, right? If not, you need to read them. You would enjoy it more than most, because you are living the sailing parts.
Delos is a great boat but If I owned one I would want the back steps or "sugar scoop" to reach down into the water a little more for when you want to drag behind the boat underway and can climb back up easier.
you are the greatest. They have to come to Argentina, where the widest river in the world is waiting and where they will be received cordially and love ....
Photography tip, as an ex special forces photographer, before it was an mos (5sfg 1986), I found myself wanting to see the Sunset, on the edge of the red part of the sail.
Thanks for another great episode. I look forward to a new one every other Friday. I, like many of your viewers, live vicariously and jealous of your sailing/travel lifestyle. I'm a longtime subscriber and would consider donating to the "buy-us-a-beer" fund, but for the fact that the content of the episodes being released is over a year old. Again, I really enjoy your videos and you can run your channel any way you like. It's just that I've stumbled on a video from Josje saying she's left Delos. I picked up my jaw up and look ed on Delos website to see that Josje is listed as past crew. So if I donate money, thinking I'm buying a beer for everyone, I'm really not. I hope I'm not sounding angry or accusing Delos of deception. I'm just confused. The Delos and Ramatree stories will unfold in the future, I hope. However, please help my understand the content delay of over a year. I've seen every video but have not read every blog. Please consider addressing the reasons for such a long delay in a blog or something.
Great video, good fishing, you give me an idea of what early mariners thought after sailing for many more days and finally seeing and smelling land, now I understand Brady's comment of making burritos across the Pacific, did you do the same across the Indian Ocean? Thank you for sharing!
just an idea, would it be practical to mount a small monitor camera on the mast aiming down to see the reefs without going up the mast in a harness? they are such good quality now and fairly cheap too ... just wondering ... could be a security option too
There is a band from the midwest US called Pomeroy. They have some pretty cool sounds, you should check them out after seeing a vessel sharing their name.
Love the whole series, but guys (and I know we're about a year behind in publication) - you gotta quick bangin' fish over the head with the stern of the boat. Hoist 'em up over the stern, then dispatch 'em. They'll stay on the hook that way. Cheers!
Hey guys ... I'm so glad to see the progress on your Indian Ocean passage! As you guys know, I follow folks on the high seas ... But recently, I've become alarmed at the tragedy of "Sailing Miss Lone Star". Are you guys aware of this fiasco? If so ... What do you think? Bud Miller

I miss the coast so bad right now! All this Coronavirus going around has got everything shut down so we can’t even go fishing! An hour away and yet we can’t even go walk on the beach. 😥
Freida got so excited when Brian caught the fish that she looked like a little girl , so cute !
What a beautiful episode, the reactions of everyone on reaching Chagos was magic!
I would literally pay millions or even my last ounce of my soul to be there and have that experience with all of you amazing people! Very sad I know, but your living my dream and its so hard to watch yet amazing. That sunset really was very beautiful. The fish tacos looked delicious.A great video. Loved the magical moon at 17:21.
Super awesome episode! I can’t get over how beautiful everyone is with all of the sun and ocean wash! So great.

No it is made possible by you Delos. Thanks again for your travels that inspire us land bound crew to eventually slip our lines.
Stay safe guys...
Thanks for another great video guys. It prompted me to look into the history of the Chagos Islands. WOW! I never knew this history that the UK and US removed the people from their homeland. Man! this is crazy! Thanks for posting this video and opening my eyes.
To be fair, the inhabitants were squatters and hooligans.
Too funny! I bet there aren't too many people who caught the whomper reference!! You guys are AWSOME, keep up the great work!
Great video Delos crew. Keeping me motivated to get everything done so I can get on my boat and go next summer.
Really looking forward to the next adventure.

You live on the lake? I'm a Put-in-Bay islander right here waiting to get our boat out of the water
I use to live in Ohio, but now I'm in Iowa. Back in the summer of 1982, and the summer of 1983, I spent 3 months each up on Sugar Island working on a few houses on that island. I miss the lake.

Haha, the I-wish-i-could-eat food conversations brought back some fond memories :)
Very good video guy's , Happy trails : )

woo hoo !
Nice.
Keep doing good things you rocksss
another great video !!

Sorry for the ignorance. How do you know a fish is eatable or not? Should they be all eatable? Great video!
Bud Miller
Those guys were a train wreck waiting to happen. Pander for money...pander for money...show cleavage...pander for money.
Love you guys
That cat at the end of this vid has to be one of the most film modern wrecks. Lets see the Delos crews take on it.
Hi guys I love your videos I never miss one but when was it exactly ? I mean what is the time difference between when you shoot and when you post ?
this video was shot in June of 2015, I believe. So, more than a year between shoot and post.
Pura Vida!
According to The Guardian the human rights group Reprieve identified the Pomeroy and sixteen other USN vessels as having held "ghost prisoners" in clandestine extrajudicial detention. Nothin to worry about :D
Dabz
another GREAT video. I, as all the rest of your subscribers look forward to the new ones. I have a request, is there any chance you could insert in the description the approximate dates these were filmed? I didn't realize til recently that these might be 2015. I get confused. it isn't only you, white spot pirates, etc also does this, and many more sailing youtube groups also. thank you for all your work.
Another great episode. Love you guys! Just a thought...there seems to be a great correlation between more frequent uploads and a faster growing subscriber base here on UA-cam. I'm not sure if this would hold true for a channel of this type or is more akin to the daily vlog type channels. Just a thought.
You guys should get a Foodsaver vac so you can vacuum pack a bunch of meat before a long trip, that way you don't have to eat mush.
You guys deserve more subscribers
great vid guys
The landlubbers don't understand how nice it is to see land after a long sail.
I miss the coast so bad right now! All this Coronavirus going around has got everything shut down so we can’t even go fishing!
An hour away and yet we can’t even go walk on the beach. 😥
Thanks for the lunch break.
Saw Josje's new Ramatree video so sad to see her and Frida and Max leaving Delos
I hate to complain but you folks need to clean those camera lenses more often, keep seeing blurry spots..... :-)
