"I think, therefore you are." Fun Fact: Hayden Christensen's feature film debut. He's the Paper Boy met by Trent (Sam Neil) on the road. Authentic Battle Damage Fact: When a hand breaks through the glass of Sam Neill's cell, a piece of fake glass cut Neil's neck. Practical Effect Fact: The effect of Julie Carmen spinning her head around was done by having a contortionist stunt-double wear an up-side down prosthetic mask of Carmen's face. Since the stunt double couldn't see, the filmmaker had to guide her on where to go by sound. Location Location Fact: The building used as the mental institution at the beginning of the film is actually a water filtration plant in the Beaches area of Toronto. It has been the scene of other movies, including the island fortress in Undercover Brother (2002). Filming can no longer take place inside this building following 9/11. Monstrous Madness Fact: The "Wall Of Monsters" at the end was not several monsters being controlled individually. Instead, it was a combination of men in suits and animatronics attached to a vehicle-like wheelbase and had to be pushed along with a crank. During the filming of this scene, the Wall accidentally ran over Greg Nicotero's foot and he had to be taken to a nearby hospital.
The final movie in John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy (Including The Thing and Prince of Darkness), all 3 ahead of its time. Glad you enjoyed this one.
The ending is him coming to terms with the fact that he is a character in a movie, and the movie is about to end. Meaning him and his entire world will be blinked out of existence at any second, and there is nothing he could possibly do to change it.
@@Laxhoop "In the Mouth of Madness" taps into the fear every human has of not being in control of their own life: free will vs fate/predestination. This really harkens back to Carpenter's "Halloween" in which he had Jamie Lee talk about fate while in her English class. 🐧🍏🍎💙
Lovecraft fans unite😂 I check for rare reactions like this. 👍 glad to have a fresh 1. Seen this a million times but only like 10 reactions 😢 what my take on this is Sam Neil's character is the writer. He's the only 1 that exists in this reality. Sutter Cain is his character trapped in the book wanting let out. All the repeat scenes are the writing and rewriting of the book but my views change the more I watch and outside input like yours only furthers the discussion. If you like twisted (the number 23) is mental jim Carrie's best role I think 🤔

"Why is everything so wet? All, all the sound effects are so wet." - Because they're MOIST and JUICY.
Even reading this gave me shivers

Oooo we need to add prince of darkness to our list. Haven’t seen that one
BTW: Did you noticed how Styles pretty much told the audience the actual ending of the movie?
Until you said this no!!

The only movie ever made that is a 100% perfect adaptation of a book!
Think misery is up there too!
There should be a "WTF" Counter on this film. There are so many moments in this film that make you squirm and even question reality itself. 🐧🍎🍏💙
Great reaction! It is very interesting to see your joint full detailed reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool movie 👍🔥
We’ve both seen that one before, but we’re always open to more suggestions! Thank you for watching
One of my favorite cosmic horror movies

That’s a good theory, we didn’t even consider that! I think both of us have seen the number 23 but we’ll bring it up for the next session
If you haven't already, watch Jacob's Ladder from 1990
Don’t think either of us have seen that one. We’ll put it on the list
Mmmmmmoist
This movie was foul
Compared to the average romcom, or compared to other horror movies?
