- So i woke up and decided to do a full 312 loop of Mallorca solo. I pulled the route from Komoot and ive shared a link down below to it. Ive also shared my activity from Strava if you would like to check it out. I end up going a little bit crazy doing this whole thing solo, i hope you enjoy watching.
I started in Palma and did the loop anti-clockwise. All the details are in the video. Please do let me know what you think, i had a lot of fun riding this one but it was brutally hard. Please do like and share this vid as i would really appreciate it.

You are def my fave cycling influencer u keep it right ur honest and love when u admit ur struggling on some rides gives us amatuers inspiration to keep the legs spinning
Whilst riding in Spain headphones (and bone conductive) are illegal, maybe don't film yourself breaking the law
@@pollythedog4914ouch someone’s a grass
@@pollythedog4914 I didnt know that, some of the guys on the PAS ride had them in and i guess they live on the island so thought it was ok
@@TBATTIECYCLING Google in Spanish and you will find stories of traffic police catching people on bikes because of their social media posts
Your best video yet Max and what an achievement, especially doing it on your own! Your music choices as a soundtrack were fab too.
Super Awesome Max… Way to Suffer through the Pain Cave… Job well done 👍🍻🚴♂️🚴♀️🚴♂️🚴♀️
Fantastic ride Max, well done, truly inspiring. Love the video too. I hope you have recovered!
“Two more climbs. Two… hard climbs.” 😂 You went a bit mad towards the end there. The passers by asking if you were okay could tell.
I was not ok!!!!
Wow, great achievement and nice way to supply some salt!! I am tired already just by watching this...
You're my hero! Thanks for this video, I was exciting to follow the video, in parallel with Strava track with my heatmap as the overlay. This brought back great memories - where I was, how it looks like in your camera. Awesome 👍👍
I feel your pain just watching this. Every cyclist has been through these dark patches on a long ride but the satisfaction reward after is priceless. Great footage in every way 💪💪
Well done sir 👏🏻👏🏻 that was an awesome effort! Not for the faint hearted
I was out doing the coast road a month ago. Simply the best road!!! Just watched this video whilst doing a turbo. Keep up the down to earth content
Cracking ride Max. Looked to be seriously underfuelled but you kept going. Respect.
The fuelling was hard, because I only had pockets, and bidons.
The water/electrolytes were the big issue, if I could have got more carb mix then I think it would have helped a load
@@thewattlife 750/900ml Elite bottles for the win. What was that cola gel brand? Need to look out for it next April.
EnerVit. They honestly taste great ✌🏻
Great ride, great video. Thank you for taking us along.
Pleasure. Thank you
Wow! What a huge day out and a phenomenal achievement! Class video as well! Bravo!!! 🙌🏼🚴🏼♀️⛰️
Thank you 🙏
Cracking effort mate, just subscribed!
@luke-ve8jb Cheers man, appreciate it
Madness. Pure madness. Loved every minute of it. Perhaps carrying some Beta fuel sachets to refill. More food!!!!
Great video for a brilliant effort, keep up the excellent work
Massive respect, Max. Great video
Thank you man
Brilliant video and a proper workout. Well Done.
Fantastic effort man. Super well done 👊
Great effort mate and a great video 👏
I'm inspired to give it a go myself now! 😮
@mancpower DO IT!!!! You should man, very do able if youre up for a long day in the saddle
@@thewattlife sounds like I better get booking! 😂
There's a reason pro's (and most experienced cyclists) prepare a nutrition strategy for big day's out! Don't eat and drink when you need it - just keep eating and drinking. Granted it's a bigger than average ride, but you struggled because you were under fueled/hydrated - basic stuff really.
This ride is a struggle
You say pros and experienced riders then say it’s ‘basic’
The issue is getting access to food and drink more so than actually doing the eating and drinking.
What a achievement, absolutely amazing solo ride true grit and determination, makes me want to plan for 2025
Chapeau max your a legend 👌
Fair play mate, that is some epic ride. I was bonking just watching.
Rode in Mallorca first time in May this year, absolutely loved it.
@JimmyTheCyclist Its honestly one of my favourite places
Great video Max👏 We love your videos and started following you after your 312 video with Paris. We are doing it next April🚴♀️🚴♂️ Can’t wait!
Ah amazing- I’m sure you’ll have a great ride for the 312. Just be ready for those hills 🫠🫠
To do this ride solo you have to be strong mentally, well done smashed it
I think the hardest part was getting going in the dark solo, the hills were tough but it’s such a nice road it makes it a lot more bearable
Thank you
Bravo Sir…..brilliant video.
Thank you kindly
8000 calorie ride - chapeau Max!
Thank you man- I definitely didn’t take on enough but felt ok for most of it
Well done, strong guy, impressed
Great video to watch. Brilliant editing.
@edge_bob Appreciate it, thank you. Give it a go...?
Great stuff Max, give me a shout next time, I'll try not to get dropped! 🤣🤣🤣
Fab video this one Max , chapeau mate
Impressive you got back before sunset! 👍
Only just. The traffic was the thing that made it quite a bit slower 😊😉
Well done, amazing effort
Great effort . The haters are still gonna hate though 😂. Good video 🎉😊
Excellent Effort!
Epic ride! nicely done.
Chapeau 👏 👏 what an epic ride 💪
Epic ride, well done. Porto Cristo is lovely, cycled to there a few times and it's a really nice area. You did it at best time of year, lot cooler but still lovely weather and so much quieter roads. Were you drinking enough is one question I have, seems didn't go through many bidons.
youre a nutcase but mega legs to do that. well done mate would love to try this too one day.
Awesome stuff mate💪🤩👍
Thank you man
Chapeau, can only imagine how tough the East of the Island felt, bet dinner tasted good
Thank you 🙏🏻 Paella 🥘 to round the day off
Chapeau- quality route
Impressive ride, well done
Superb 🎉
"I'm this close to bonking!"... While watching the video, till this point I was thinking ... "damn, this guy is so tough - he is eating so little yet still delivering". I need a gel every 20-30 minutes + snacks on the stops, otherwise I'm simply devastated.
Man I struggled just before that- probably the hottest part of the day.
I carried as much as I could but ideally would have had twice as much fuel
@@thewattlife I feel you!
Fair play fella 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Gary
what a ride , well done
Thank you, 💯 % recommend it
Looking longingly at the weather..... But then again...i will be in the mountains in Gran Canaria in 2 weeks. 😊
Very jealous- need a buddy to come with?
What a valiant effort 👏
How many carbs an hour did you consume? And how many carbs you would have ideally taken?
I didnt have nearly enough. Carrying it all was the problem. I should have eaten more in Alcudia but wasnt in the mood. Ideally youd take on 80 odd grams of carbs an hour but id only really do that after the first 4-5 hours as the 1st half of the ride is flat and there was no real need to push too hard
Bro that was fuk'n epic. Well done! Good legs...good legs. Enjoyed the video. Set up the next one and let us know.
@victorvargas536 Cheers man, yeah for sure, we need a group of maybe 8-10 riders and then could smash it
Impressive Chapeau
Well done
Epic ride
You need to hit the alps next ⛰️⛰️
Maybe next summer- would love to do a big ride in the Alps
Could see you rocking a Nero skin suit 😂
@GraemeCurrie-mp4db YES!! Ha maybe next time i do a big ride you might see me in one 👀
big big day that mate
Bruv youre coming for the next one
Pleased go say that your 'the decents on this side of the island are insaaaaane' bit is on my bike commute to work. I love it.
That’s a lovely way to get to work, getting home must be tough 😂😉
im jealous, have to do this soon!
One of the best rides you can do on the island.
No way ur fuel and hydration was on point. Way under what u needed!
@jonphotos8631 Thats exactly part of the challenge when doing it solo without support. Its not always possible to eat and drink when theres nothing to eat and drink, plus every stop slows you down
@@thewattlife u need to fill those pockets at the start!
Chapeau!! Chapeau!! What a ride and great video!! M 312 added to the bucket list!
What cycling shoes you wearing??
They look good, 👍
@gavincasizzi4367 They are nice huh. They are the DMT Cycling Pogi's. Managed to keep them white for the whole trip but showered with them a few times. They are also very comfortable, i didnt adjust them once this whole ride
@@thewattlife they are very nice indeed!! Thank you 🙏
What an epic video! I asked in what of your previous videos but I just wanted to confirm. Are you wearing the Airas 8KO Silver Blue or the Airas 8KO Iris HV Blue?
Hey man, just checked and it is the Airas 8KM Silver Blue with a black frame
see when you stopped outside port blue resort for the race to pass, you biked right past me running. small world
@wordupcornflake Haha awesome no way!! Weather was pretty perfect other than some high winds that side of the island
A week of cycling next year, you say? Culminating in doing this route again, you say? Innnnnnnnteresting...
Oh I think a good team pulling turns would make this a dream ride
Forget the 312. I'm a local resident, have done it 5 times. But it's got way too big for it's own good. Mainly because too many people and no speed graded pens at the start and under resourced feed points. Total zoo. Can take 25' just to cross the line. If you are fast it means you are weaving through thousands of slower riders. If you are slowish, then you are fighting the time cut, which is hard when you have already lost 25' just waiting to cross the start line.
I have a great video on the channel explaining exactly this- it was from last years 312.
Also well done on doing it so many times. Have you done the island loop version?
How have you been finding the Winspace long-term? I've stacked a load of miles on mine and taken a lot of abuse for not getting a more known brand. Honestly, haven ridden a load of bikes I don't have anything bad to say.
I haven’t had anyone say anything about it in terms of the brand, had a load of ppl saying it looks great.
I’m loving it- I’m giving it a big service this week, changing brake pads, bleeding brakes, and swapping out the chain. The components needs some love and it will be back to being an insane ride. It did an awesome job on the 312
you left it out there well done solid Ride how many calories i normally ride to Mallorca prefer not to fly
Ha how do you ride to Mallorca? You mean you can get a boat?
Yes Max I take the ferry from Barcelona once from London that was a week and this year from French Alps where I’m based now again chapeau
Ah amazing- I feel like that would be a great adventure
Great video and a solo 312 is much harder. Tip, work on your east/west Mallorca geography and think of a double L more like a Y!!
What glasses are you using from sungod?
These are the Arias. Blue 8k ✌🏻 I lost one of the rubber arm covers on this ride 🤦🏼♂️
@@thewattlife unlucky 🤣 insane ride !
Why would you attempt a lap of the island after a smash fest the day before?, think you might need to consult your coach 😮
I was only on the island for 5 days so had to get as much in as possible.
👌🏻✌🏻
Chris Miller!
Good legs
Could always have an extra bag on the bike. Pros eat real food when doing those distances. Gels and bars only take your so far.
You mean they don’t have to stop at a small store for a big bag of crisps?!?
Ham and cheese sandwiches got my most of the way. Fuelling was hard as was carrying it all and filming etc. should have had a pizza in Alcúdia
@@thewattlife
Ha! Was going to say, I never bonk in Majorca as I somehow manage to squeeze in a 90 mins lunch stop..... It's really hard resisting a carafe of vino though. It is a holiday after all.
I just dont understand the hype about Mallorca.Good ride though.
The roads are mostly in great condition. Lots of hotels are bike friendly with secure lockups. There’s some truly great climbs and loads of flat roads.
It’s not hugely expensive. Sunny a lot of the year.
Compare it to riding in the Chilterns over in the UK and it’s a no-brainer. 🫠🫠
Obviously there’s other places but the coastal road is gorgeous
What an athlete! Fair play
Also I’d like to big up T Bain the watt machine of west Cheshire for introducing me to your channel. 🫡
Thanks for watching- come along next year and lets do it again
Wow, what an epic dude!
Thank you man 🙏🏻
