      Wait does ", ensemble" mean? You can very easily make an ensemble using SWAM if that's what you mean using Divisimate or just playing each part individually.

    Swam instruments are great. An update for cc5 portamento would be perfection.

      Hi RIALAS! Thanks! What update for cc5 Portamento are you referring to?

    • @Rialas

      @@AudioModeling Hi.
      I use Roland joystick to send portamento value cc5 when pushing forward in real-time. If I start a slide from one note to another and then bring the joystick back (decrease the cc value), the note still slides at the same slower rate. I’m able to do this with my other synths and it gives me more control. Hope you understand what I’m describing.
      Your work is great, and thanks for listening.

    yea but after paying out for an MPE controller like the Seaboard in the video - SWAM is a lot of extra reddies!

    • @moogik1892
      @moogik1892 9 місяців тому

      I can only really justify a Seaboard 25, even though I realise I'd need more keys than that. I'll skip for now & get the bigger one in a few years maybe..

    Having played with some of the best sax players in the world, I can safely say this did not sound like a legit alto sax. Sorry but technology just isn't there yet.

    • @sansmojo

      Not even knowing who the best sax players in the world are, I couldn't care less. One thing that makes noise is just as valid as any other thing that makes noise. If it fits your taste and abilities, then it's a fine instrument.

    • @commodoor6549
      @commodoor6549 4 місяці тому

      @@sansmojo You actually *COULD* care less. If you couldn't care less, you wouldn't respond to my comment. Something to think about.
      But back to your *COULD* care less comment... while I'd agree that one thing that makes noise is just as valid as another thing, if what you're going for is a realistic sax sound, then not all sax VSTs are created equal. Because you don't follow sax and are not even aware of who some of the best sax players in the world are, you're not particularly qualified to make that sort of determination - the analogy would be like saying all cars are valid in order to suggest that a 1972 Pinto is just as valid as a Bugatti Veyron. Still, in terms of making a philosophical comment, yeah, your opinion carries weight. But people who are seeking realistic sax sounds, your opinion is not relevant.
      As it turns out, vHorns Saxophones, which I'm late to discover, is amazing. Look for it at Acoustic Samples. Apparently they're using a new technique to create their samples. It is pretty close to a real sound, although it is limited.
      Cheers!

    Sorry, but as good as they are, the modeled instruments still have a hint of fakeness to them. They do have some advantages over sampled instruments in terms of more control, but to my ears, they don't sound quite natural, and it can be jarring in those musical moments when that happens.

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  2 роки тому +8

      That’s why we need good controllers, and - more important - good musicians able to control them perfectly, as real musicians do with real acoustic instruments 😉

      @@AudioModeling i have the AKAI Fire that seems incompatible which makes me terribly disappointment, it comes with banks of note layouts and is supposed to of worked, i am not able to afford the newest MPE controllers so made this as a budget choice and apparently bet wrong. I think they take a lot more control over them to get them to sound good. With sampled instruments you can press the keys and they sound good out of the box, with physical modeling you have to control a few more parameters to make it sound natural. Like a manual vs automatic car
