Imagine being the guy who designed these sounds, seeing Parisi in awe as he takes them for the wildest ride. Must be the most gratifying sensation on earth, seeing the full potential of that beautiful thing you made
The ROLI Seaboard RISE is an instrument I really look forward to getting someday in the nearest future. The level of expression and amount of detail you can work into playing an instrument is truly INSANE😄 from all the videos I've been watching and that definitely is something that appeals to someone like me who always wants my instruments to "sing". Amazing job by Marco Parisi. He's really good with the Seaboard😊. Great Job, @ROLI. You guys are incredible!
Parisi is so amazing! The Expressive Virtuoso synth is evidently specifically made for the Seabord controllers, and he has such a mastery of the instrument. It makes me wish I was a keyboard player!
in those first t0 minutes i actually paused the video 3 times and almost went to my computer... but i wanted to hear the next sound. this is how you succeed. congrats to the sound designers. from what i hear in this video, you guys killed it. ♥
@@petedonnelly254I was the same, i bought it at the Shepard's Flute. I'm new to Seaboard and trying to understand all of its features and how to use the controls
Love how Marco gives the nod to the sound designers also. Marco is a TRUE virtuoso on this instrument. What a talent. Roli, I would assume this works perfectly on the Original Seaboard Rise also ??
I came here looking for a “Purple Rain” part perhaps, and was blown away again by Marco’s playing ability. Absolute genius coupled with an amazing product!
Wonderful collection of mostly-realistic - and bordering on surreal-alien - solo emulations for a buck a preset. The flutter on some horns and overblowing on flute is really smile-inducing. The strings are plasticky-synthy and wish they had more rosin or bite like the horns and reeds, to get more into swoony-Bollywood-Carnatic territory... but overall not bad. I really want to hear some MPE strings nail the dreamy portamento and glissando you get out of a classic Mancini or David Rose recording. Anyhoozles, plays nicely on Expressive E Osmose too.
@@WeAreROLI Yes that’s what I mean - I enjoy when instruments come from a parallel universe where they evolved differently, i.e., the metal and wood over there have different qualities. A common frame of reference and point of divergence. I think the strings could be pushed more in that direction (reference: m.ua-cam.com/video/5nq3Q4tHvHY/v-deo.html ), but by tweaking some things and adding air and distortion and lo-tape effects, I was able to get closer to the desired result. Keep it up with the soundpacks, I have most of them and look forward to more!
Beautiful. Awesome playing. I just bought myself one of these and it's on the way. My right hand is a little misshaped with short fingers and I'm thinking this is my instrument. Here's hoping.

I just got a Rise 2 on the way and I cannot wait to play around with it! Thank you for this. Everyone who has one, was it worth the purchase? Im so afraid of liking it for a week and never touching it again.
Personally I was instantly hooked by the seawave devices way back when I bought my first Seaboard Block, so much so that I bought a second one the same month. That‘s years ago and I haven‘t lost any of the fun. Bought a Rise 2 when it came out and love it. No regrets at all with any of them. But that doesn‘t mean it will be same for you. The squishy is not everybody’s thing. I love it, others don’t. If you like to explore and are open to learn a new instrument from scratch with a familiar topology it’s highly likely you‘ll be entertained and inspired pretty much instantly. Take it real slow at first with dialled down glide (pitch) sensitivity. Few fingers with few gestures does a lot already. If you expect piano style playing experience with effortless perfect chord intonation but just extra expression magic, it‘s not that.
i jus got the roli seaboard rise 2 last week and i am a 15 year keyboardist and pianist and im tellin u it is VERY VERY HARD!! But it is amazin and u get better each day - u jus have to like play it "differently" u cant approach it like a keyboard - almost like a string almost
@@WeAreROLI one thing I am really struggling with is how to connect it with my Sample Modelling Kontakt 7 Strings Solo library. I use a tec control breath 2 it works perfect - but I cant seem to MAP like say the after press into dynamics expression intesity and the slide up to control the vibrato parameter. I am using Abelton Live 11 INTRO so its before the standard version. Any advice on how I can get the Roli to communicate with Sample Modelling String Solo Bundle on Kontakt 7?

Quick question. I just purchased a Rise 2 last month and I'm impressed with what it can do but I have some issues with MPE midi playback. I'm using Studio One 6.5 with MPE enabled. While recording, the sound comes out correctly and I do see the midi track writing down various curves, but as soon as I stop the recording, some midi notes will change. For example, long sustaining notes will turn into short ones, and the track does not replay pitch, timbre, nor pressure correctly. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
Can we have a description of the detailed setup he is using: What kind of PC is required, what kind of software to be set up, what kind of amplifier/speakers etc. - especially what can we do to increase ressponsiveness and avoiding delay?
He was using RISE 2 directly connected to his Macbook using a USB cable and playing sounds from Equator2 in Logic, which is included for free. Unless you are using the Seaboard via bluetooth with wireless headphones, there should be no delay. If you are experiencing delay, please reach out to support so they can troubleshoot your setup. roli.com/support
I am trying to obtain the same reactiveness from my block, but there is no way i can seem to achieve it! I need to push so hard that it's impossible to play with the same sonic result (Harmonium Gigantum). Is it simply a limitation of the block (first generation, not the block M) compared to the rise? Or am I missing something (i've tried to modifiy the responsiveness to Strike and Pressure in the Roli Dashboard, but either i kill expressivity by smashing it, or i don't get responsiveness)?
When he apologises for getting lost in the sounds….. it says it all. Amazing.
Human is the magic and the board is just a reason.. beautiful!
Nicely put.
