I wish more PTC trains did the leather knee cushions on the back of the seats in front of you. Might be the most comfortable PTC trains I've ever been in because of those.
this is my dad's home park, im trying to prove that the trains do have upstop &or side friction wheels, because he said that "if you rode it in the back then the train would lift up" and he doesnt believe that upstop wheels are necessary or that that wasnt just ejector airtime
I don't know if the line got long midday while I rode Excalibur and did the waterpark, but I had very short lines in the first couple hours and later in the day. I got a few rides. I remember liking it, but I honestly don't remember what I liked or how good the elements were. It is nice for me to see a review of a wood coaster tonight, after New Mexico Rattler never opened today.
That's a bummer New Mexico Rattler was closed. Another one of my friends who went earlier this year got on the only public train of the day for it. It was down the rest of the day due to brake issues.
I know what you mean by "bumpy airtime". Racer 75 at Kings Dominion has some of that. Speaking of Kings Dominion, do you think you are going to review Dominator and Grizzly?
This is so cool since it was closed when I was there a few years back. Thanks! I do feel like I missed out on something, even if it isn't the best wood coaster in the world, it has its charms.
This thing looks underrated. Thee are no enthusiast at all that talk about this but it looks like number 3 or maybe 2 in the park. A good classic wooden coaster with airtime. You have all the GP that go to Wild Thing with the giant cambacks but these small camelbacks are much better. Still a kinda dead second half though.
@@CanobieCoasteryes that's the good news the bad news is without the breaks the ride is extremely rough rougher than fairly odd coaster and excalibur put together
I've ridden both the Blue Streak at Cedar Point and High Roller, and wonder how can High Roller with a 70ft lift hill, the Trains can reach 50mph and the Blue Streak with a 78ft lift hill, the Trains only reach 40mph??? Someone at these parks aren't doing the math right. Since the upgrades done to the Blue Streak in 1994, the Trains are traveling much faster than they used to because of the extra weight, and more anchoring of wood between the main Track Ledgers to handle the extra weight of the Trains, that definitely reduce extra bouncing, structural integrity of the track. The weight of the Trains on High Roller isn't as heavy as the Trains for Blue Streak, because High Roller Trains doesn't have the high rubber seatbacks. So I think it's the Blue Streak that has the top speed of 50mph, and High Roller with a top speed of 40mph. Yes, the High Roller is a fun Rollercoaster, but Blue Streak is so much better. My 1st ride on the Blue Streak was in 1968 at the age of 9, and believe me, I can definitely feel the difference how the Blue Streak is now. The Airtime is strong ejector now, that gives some Coaster Enthusiasts the thought of the Blue Streak being rough, and the Upstop Wheels sounds like they're going to break off from the axles. And all of the years I've ridden the Blue Streak, the side laterals were never that strong going through the turn around. I'm really surprised that a trim brake hasn't been added somewhere along the circuit. And when the track is wet during the rain?? HOLY #*$&!!!
@@CanobieCoaster Well one thing for sure, the Blue Streak Trains are definitely not traveling at 40mph. The rule of physics. The more weight of a Coaster Train, it's definitely going to have an increase of speed. Have you ever seen an empty Millennium Force cycle because of perhaps a computer malfunction, and was down for say about 30min. When the empty Trains are cycling, the speed is definitely slower through the circuit, and when the Train goes through the magnet brakes, the Trains absolutely crawl back to the unload station. But when the Trains are completely loaded with riders, the Trains fly through the magnet brakes in nothing flat before being held by the much larger magnet brakes while the Train in front is being offloaded. This is why the Blue Streak Trains are traveling faster now empty because of the added weight, and that's not counting riders.
Ratcheting lap bars have destroyed the concept of airtime. Once a person has experienced airtime at Kennywood or Knoebel’s or Playland in Vancouver….any ride with ratcheting lap bars is lame
It is a bit of a shame to see how poorly kept up the paint job is, I would love to see Valley Fair Keep the paint scheme up a little better, I'm not much of a coaster guy, but I have no problem riding this one.
I appreciate all these Valleyfair videos, I’m thinking about making a trip this summer!
It's a solid park.
Love the enthusiasm of the dispatch! Yes! A nearly 50 year old coaster that's aging like a fine wine. Those PTC's look and run well.
I love their little spiel.
I love the anti roll back device noise on this ride
Me too.
I wish more PTC trains did the leather knee cushions on the back of the seats in front of you. Might be the most comfortable PTC trains I've ever been in because of those.
I can see how those would be appreciated by taller guests.
my first coaster...still one of my favorites
Nice!
I would recommend row 9 I got air time galore on that row even after the mid course break
Nice!
What do you think about blue streak at cedar point?
Fun coaster.

The ride has some sort of upstop mechanism.

Same issue yesterday
What do you think about high roller and Renegade, both at valleyfair?
Renegade is great. High Roller is decent.
So here's my question how old is high roller?
It's nearly 50 years old.
47 going on 48 in 2024

judge roy scream at sfot has that too

Dominator yes. Grizzly no. Lack of footage and I haven't been in the back in years.

It definitely had its moments.
A break before the final bunny hops???
A park that can't get out of it's own way..🤣😆😆
It definitely slows it down at the end.
The original trains for the ride were produced finally in the 60s so it’s likely they had a life before this
Nice!

What's lifter airtime?
Flo-jector style airtime.
I think 10/10
Glad you like it!
they dialed back the brakes
Great!

Didn't hit my knees thankfully.

A lot of wood coasters used to exaggerate their stats.

Cannibal/wicked/colossus reviews coming at any point? Any lagoon rides?
I'd like to get back to that park first.
its no longer valley fair's tallest coaster so now they should call it low roller it's hill is shorter than corkscrews at 70 ft
I don't mind the name.
The coaster has been relocated, it used to be in excelsior
The entrance?
I’d believe it, the og trains stopped production in the 60s. So it probly had a different life before

I much prefer buzz bars, but I get why parks prefer individual ratcheting ones.

It's rare seeing white woodies nowadays.
This one is older than our 3 woodies. Wow! I'd ride this. Doesn't matter if it's slow, I'd still ride it. Looks like fun 😄
It has some airtime despite the speed.
You aren’t in universal are you ? I saw someone looks just like you haha
I am not.

That trim looks so unnecessary
I wish it wasn't there.
