This launches with the new League, so old characters are gone (or standard but standard never made sense in lore). That's why she's talking like to a new generation of exiles, to the ones we'll create in the new league, telling them about our old characters as about legacy of the War for the Atlas. Our characters became the legends, part of the story, how cool is that.
its kinda of a shame, that i dont see people complimenting the music of path of exile. poe soundtrack is definitely one of my favorites and even trailers music alone gave me goosebumps

early years of the game, once you entrered in the scepter of god (end of act 3, mind you) you would go back to the very first act and the meta-lore was the bosses from the empire were so strong because they would grind XP endlessly, just like us. Now they pumped the meta once again, but withing the new gameplay loop. GGG is amazing.
As we can see, Sirus was wearing white armor, he killed Kitava and Chimera with Automaton(Corrupted) Divine Ire. When Zana trapped Conquerors and Sirus in atlas, he has hundreds of years to farm perfect mirror items, then he found Vaal Temples and double corrupt all items (they became red) and his Divine Ire became Vaal(corrupted) version of it - the one he uses when he says DIE. Vaal Divine Ire CONFIRMED.
*Exile panting as they have finally finished murdering everything around them*...... But wait..... there is a strange sound. Something appears in the distance. Not something. Someone. And they are moving faster than any monster you have faced. Within seconds they are upon you, but then they stop. "Exile" the sound echoes around you "EXILE!!!! You are mine to kill!"...... "Wha.... What are you?" you stammer. The figure above you, covered in a cloak seemingly made from the moonless fabric of midnight, stares you down..... he whispers "I am your death. I am the beast that follows you from the shadows for fun. The Unkillable. I have had many names. But you may call me The HoWA Molten Strike Jug". You scream.
Oh. Now Zana's "Still sane, exile?" makes hella more sence.

GGG makes PoE lore meta and canon at the same time. I remember when I was there and there was no maps and no acts beyond the very firsts, when you entered in scepter of the god you would restart at the begining, showing how some bosses were so strong - they were stuck in a loop of endless leveling. GGG is amazing in mixing lore with their very own gameplay mechanics.
Damnit my shitty laptop could barely play the old version, are there minimun requirements going to change? Or is the New game engine so much better than even my crappy laptop can run this?

Path of Exile has some great writing in it. There has been a lot of foreshadowing before Betrayal happened. And even now, Zana’s dialogue just foreshadowed this expansion.

The atlas has no sense of time. The Untainted Paradise in Wraeclast before anything ever happened to it. As for the rest of the maps I have no idea about there time line. Lore wise you should still be able to fight him.

@@Abossow77 They will keep Uber elder and Shaper however it will be more difficult to get to him. At the moment they said the only way is through Zana quests (in a map) but the devs said they want there to be more ways.

@@nio4260 It's similar to how betrayal removed the old masters so new players never got to hang out with them and learn about them. In this regard, new players starting this league won't get the Zana questline to defeat the Elder, so they won't appreciate how the story has changed in the same way

@@nio4260 They wont understand or experience the lore before it. I've only played this game for like over a year so far so IDK other leagues but from my experience so far, old master to betrayal, old atlas to this new one are the only two I can think of with changes in mechanic that progress the lore that new players might not fully appreciate. For betrayal for example, new players are just killing them, they're just another enemies to them, but for older players, some of these enemies are npcs that used to be in our hideouts who we do quests for and now we're killing them. For this new atlas, our constant mapping drove us mad with power that Zana had to imprison us. For new players, starting in the middle of map is no different from starting at the 4 outer edges but for older players, there's a story behind it that they've experienced themselves.
I don't appreciate my addiction being used against me like this.

A boss isn't truly a boss until it's been sealed at least once.
For a second i thought she made the Exiles replay the maps forever and ever as a way to seal their powers away from the real world.
There are times you cannot leave your map to get into your HO. Its currently a bug but soon will be a feature.

Normally the skill tree resets with each uptade, but I still advice you to make a new character so you can play in the new league.
When I finish my masters, going to drop a couple hundo on this game to get the crazy supporter or the cosmetics. So juicy...
