My ground floor apartment had a Rollie Pollie and millipede problem. I used Ortho and sprayed the baseboard, along every seam of the wall, underneath the fridge and dishwasher. And literally overnight…let’s just say I’ve been sweeping up bug corpses the next morning and I might get onesies and twosies that manage to get past the barrier but they make it about 3 feet before they keel over and die. Here in northern NY state, we have a ton of ear wigs. While they aren't exactly hard to kill (I mean, water usually does it), they infest our house in numbers that could rival any ants. Within the first few hours of applying this stuff, we had a bunch of dead ear wigs and quite a few black ants. Totally worth it.
I never had anything it wouldn't kill (BUT the chickens that ate dead bugs were fine.) In FL, I apply every 2 weeks, but I have a creek in the back yard. It works. Just keep your house clean.

I’m gonna say, I live in Vegas and spray my shower drains regularly (and let dry as I have cats) and it lasts at least 10 months. Right now I have a ton of house flies in my garage and I have one question… do they offer a nozzle that sprays more at a time? Because it takes easily one or two hours to get the whole garage. Thank you, and I liked and subscribed… great information!
As of now I am not aware of a larger sprayer. I bought a bottle that has a much larger spray wand, but I don’t feel it’s a bigger area. You could use a pressure pump, but the product will go a lot quicker. If you have houseflies, I think there may be other products that might be a little bit more efficient. I hear fly trap bags are pretty good. I do have to say I have not tried them myself. Are you spraying in the shower drains because you’re having spiders or ants coming in?
I spray at the edges where the carpet meets the wall. Spray the side of the wall so it runs into the carpet. This way, you are dot spraying the carpet directly.

This is why I guess if you worry about your own apartment you can't get rid of them but if you keep spraying you won't have them in your one apartment is that true
My experience with apartments is that do you want to be able to spray before they get in. In the hallway before your front door. You do have to spray in your terrace outside of your doors. The biggest problem is if they’re coming in through the walls from a neighbor, if it were me, I would check for any cracks in my cabinets or near walls and seal them. If you have a good landlord, you can tell them of the issue and they could spray outside the building but if you don’t, I would caulk anything that leads inside the apartment (meaning cracks). Then let the bug spray do the rest
I know it's bad living in an apartment but if I keep my apartment clean keep spraying every couple weeks I should be fine the landlord doesn't want to spray every apartment I don't understand why
I had to apply it to my counter top because I had flour mites and they were rapidly reproducing somehow. The counter until the problem is solved is not being used right now but my situation was desperate. We would kill them and wipe them off the counter and then 30 minutes later they'd reappear.

@@strategyandperformance I really appeciate your response. There are no carpets in our bedrooms just wood floors. I was wondering if it is too toxic of chemical to spray in the rooms where we sleep.
You can spray . Make sure you watch my other video that shows you how to spray it if you’re not sure. You don’t want to have the product go more than an inch or two from the wall. Once it dries it becomes safe. If you have toddlers (3 to 4) and they don’t have bugs in the room, I would avoid spraying it in there. My young kids tend to play near the walls or pick at things. If the kids are older 8 to 12 then there’s no problem they tend to move beyond that stage.
I’ve killed 13 field crickets in my basement in a week! It’s so damn annoying This spray hasn’t kept this damn these out they feed on fabric & like to breed in humid weather aka basement what do i do!!
@@strategyandperformance they just eventually stopped coming because summer was over i hope this summer isn't the same. maybe you could give me some advise in case they come again.
First, try to find out where they’re coming in from and seal those areas. One thing that has kept my house bug free is, I spray around the outside then spray on the inside areas were bugs come in. Do it now before the bugs start multiplying and he gets warmer.
Nothing worked UNTIL I put the back Antony the sprayer through my air compressor. Not one thing worked but after I blew off the air it worked as good as knew. It’s a very poorly designed system as usual.
When you correctly insert the connector into the top of the container, it always looks wonky and the design could be better. This is just like the RoundUp and many others. When it is inserted perfectly correctly, it somehow still looks like it isn't. As Strategy and Performance points out in the video, make sure to turn the dial to "ON" if you have the type that has that feature. Additionally, after inserting/connecting the hose even the battery operated ones can take a bit of time to fill the empty hose before it starts spraying or as Strategy and Performance mentioned in his response to you below, if you bought the hand pump style you will be doing quite a bit of squeeze and release before the spraying begins. This response if probably too late, but I hope you got it done.
It will dry based on the temperature inside the house and how much airflow you have. For me it took about 10 minutes. If you have the regular ortho, you don’t have to leave the house when you apply it. Just make sure kids are not going to touch Where the product was placed.

I was about to ask this question too. I bought this product because it was recommended to kill centipedes. I applied it for three days until I finished it. The third night I didn’t see anymore in my bedrooms but saw one in the kitchen by the window. I also started seeing them in the hallway outside my apartment. I think they try to find an exit. I saw one going into the my neighbors apartment front door. So I can tell they die and also try to run away too.
@@YaziSanzyooo so did it work I'm recently seeing a bunch of millipedes on my home and it's so frustrating having to kill em they keep coming what did you use to fix this
It kills any ant that crosses the area sprayed. (When applied correctly) It will not kill the colony. At the end of the video I mention that you need to use Terro ant killer to kill the colony.
In my experience, baits tend to work well with ants. They have hive, and the one that's reproducing is queen. When ants feed larva and queen poison, that colony is going down a death spiral.
I've never had roaches but live in an apartment complex whenever most do have roaches. I've never had any even when everyone else wants to blame me for their roach problem. All you need is to clean your damn home, don't leave food out, always wipe down the kitchen after everyeal with Clorox wipes, use the same wipes for all entries into your home. Also don't wear your shoes in your home, take them off inside at the door. Your shoes step on all sorts of bio material that attracts bugs. In winter bugs are more desperate for survival so I create a line of alcohol wipes to line the bottom of my door. It's always stopped the most desperate bugs. I refuse to allow the bug sprayers iny home, if you actually ask them what chemicals their using, go look it up. It acts sort of like the kids cartoons and smelling something good and they are drawn to it, it does not kill them. So all it does is tell roaches to come into your home. Sure enough I went shopping once and they snuck into my home and sprayed everything, including my food (raw potatoes) were doused in the spray. Had to throw away ally food, wipe everything down to try and remove it all, while wiping everything down I caught one roach sneaking from under neath my door and killed it (bottom of my door has about a half inch gap they refuse to fix). Once everything was wiped down I was back to normal. So easy, wipe down all window sills door entries with wipes, clean up after yourselves, do the dishes, wipe down food areas the most,. This will be harder if your already infested, but do all the same and kill all bugs you see.
We as humans choose the path of least resistance. It’s human nature, but that’s the same reason why not everyone can be a Michael Jordan or @ypcomchic! Thank you for sharing with this community.
I have an infestation of german roaches. THREE exterminators haven't been able to get rid of them. I had high hopes for this spray. Nothing. The roaches are honestly coming out more than before. Very disappointed.
I am so sorry!!! Yes, that is the downfall, German roaches build immunity to many pesticides. Do you live in an apartment, condo or house? You need or your landlord to get an exterminator company that will give a warranty and knows how to treat the problem. The roaches need to be killed by alternating pesticides. Some people have done this themselves but it is a bit complex. You also need to know the source of the roaches. Let me know how it goes.
I don't know if you've tried this, but if your problem is as severe as you say, boric acid is probably your best bet. It kills EVERYTHING! Make sure it is used properly though because it is old school and STRONG
Is the Raid safe for use around pets? Ortho is safe after it dries. Ortho works but I appear to have an infestation because they come back in a matter of hours.
What kind of pest you are having come back? Is it ants? Ortho works best by spraying outside and then inside. Raid is powerful, but is more toxic. You’ll have to read the level to learn what precautions you need to take.
@@strategyandperformance no,house flies. There is a lot of them in the garage. I spray, there are less of them, but by morning, they are pretty much back. However, in the front yard, right near the front door, there are scores of them, much more of them then there ever are in the garage. I can’t find one local company that is willing to tell me they can eradicate them, only that they can reduce their number. All of them are gone in the house, thank god, but any time I open the front door, the door to the garage, or a couple of times, the back sliding glass door, some get in. It is infuriating!!!
Boss you have a good point ! I mention them towards the end of this video and say that they build immunity. Only in areas were lots of pesticides are used. If you live in an apartment complex, that has been sprayed for past often, they probably will have an immunity for Ortho. To kill the German cockroaches, you have to alternate pesticides in a period of time. This way all the roaches are immune to one product will get killed by another product and when you alternate, you kill the other roaches in our moon to the second product. Thank you for bringing that up boss.!
The key with an apparent is that you need to spray on the outside, or areas where the roaches are getting in. The other possible challenges that their roaches may be immune. In an apartment complex other people use pesticides, and if they’ve been using them for a while, the roaches will build a tolerance.

Make sure you spray outside of the house early apartment. Seal any holes into the house or have your landlord to seal any holes outside of the building where the bugs maybe calling in.
Make sure you watch this video where I show you how to patch holes on the outside .

It sucks living in an apartment cuz the landlord doesn't really care
I live in a condo too and when management didn’t help I bought this product and I am seeing a difference
Does it just collect all the dead bugs
I wish LOL.
@@strategyandperformance no like where you spray it, does it just rack them up and you need to clean them or does it repel them
use hot shot no-pest strip
Awesome!!! Thank you! I will try it👍
Did NOT work for me.
Use ortho orthene ant killer ! Kills every insect as well as roaches
will it kill bed bugs
Yes, but you want to use ortho dual action bed bug killer product. I have a link in the description.
I’ve killed 13 field crickets in my basement in a week! It’s so damn annoying This spray hasn’t kept this damn these out they feed on fabric & like to breed in humid weather aka basement what do i do!!
Sorry I missed this comment. Do you figure it out a solution?
I put nozzle n but nt sure it n there but I try it but it didn't come on help appreciate
Is yours the hand spray? Or a long nozzle with batteries.
If the hand spray,!you need to pump the hand unit a few times before it comes on.
@@strategyandperformance Good video, thanks.
Got appreciate it
How long does it take to dry for I could re-enter my home?
It will dry based on the temperature inside the house and how much airflow you have. For me it took about 10 minutes.
If you have the regular ortho, you don’t have to leave the house when you apply it. Just make sure kids are not going to touch Where the product was placed.
Will it work on bed bugs 🐞?
Sorry for the late reply. If you got rid of the bedbugs, let us know what you used that worked.
En donde lo compro vivo en puebla
Si Amazon distribulle en Puebla, tengo la link para el producto en la descripcion del video. O, si tienes una ferreteria, o tienda de productos de jardin serca, ablales Poe Telefono para ver si tienen el producto.
@@strategyandperformance I had bed bugs before and I washed all my sheets and covers in hot water. I then Ironed my beds top and sides twice and that was the end of that.
I LIKE
Awesome!
So I bought the home defense insect killer.
Will it work on bed bugs?
Sorry for the late reply. If you got rid of the bedbugs, let us know what you used that worked.
You need to buy the bed bugs it the purple color I think 🤔
Does it work for centipedes?
I was about to ask this question too.
I bought this product because it was recommended to kill centipedes.
I applied it for three days until I finished it. The third night I didn’t see anymore in my bedrooms but saw one in the kitchen by the window. I also started seeing them in the hallway outside my apartment. I think they try to find an exit. I saw one going into the my neighbors apartment front door. So I can tell they die and also try to run away too.
Awesome, thank you for sharing your experience.
@@YaziSanzyooo so did it work I'm recently seeing a bunch of millipedes on my home and it's so frustrating having to kill em they keep coming what did you use to fix this
i tried and will never buy it again , it did NOTHING
This stuff doesn't touch carpenter ants 🐜
It kills any ant that crosses the area sprayed. (When applied correctly) It will not kill the colony. At the end of the video I mention that you need to use Terro ant killer to kill the colony.
That’s exactly why u need ortho orthene ant killer ! Kills it and even roaches
That's a whole different insect. You need a pro exterminator for those
In my experience, baits tend to work well with ants.
Thanks for sharing your experience with this community?
On the paper on the bottle there is an entire page listing the bugs that it kills. People need to stop being lazy and read.
I’ve seen a ton of reviews swearing that Ortho Orthene Fire Ant killer kills cockroaches overnight. It’s half off on Amazon right now.
No offense bugs get use to it and it doesn't work as good as spectricide.or spectrum.THATS THE TRUTH.
Than you for sharing your experience with this community.👍
Does it kill earwigs?
Yes
Can I use it near my plants in pots. There are so many in them.
I would use it to spray around the pots, avoid having a contact the plants
This kills roaches????
Yea roaches groom themselves and this leaves a residue so the roach walks thru it then cleans itself later ingesting the product
Grabbing my keys and heading to the store right now 🏃🏾♀️
Awesome!!! Good luck👍
Nope, don't waste your money. Get Raid Perimeter Defense. Guaranteed! If you want double force, get some Boric acid.
Thank you for adding your experience with this community!
What about German cockroaches man, nobodies talking about them, it's always Friggin ants, never about stupid roaches
This shit don’t wrk’!
Sorry to hear that. Are you spraying for roaches? They are probably immune. Is it an app or a house?
@@strategyandperformance apartment
Roaches
The key with an apparent is that you need to spray on the outside, or areas where the roaches are getting in. The other possible challenges that their roaches may be immune. In an apartment complex other people use pesticides, and if they’ve been using them for a while, the roaches will build a tolerance.
This stuff work I live in Sioux falls in aptment Roach 🪳🪳
Wow that is great!
