Pemberton is a small mountain town at the end of the Sea to Sky highway, about 30-minutes north of Whistler, B.C. After hearing a couple of people recommend a day trip there and a hike to Nairn Falls, we decided to give it a try. What all did we find?
Mount Currie Coffee Company (mountcurriecoffee.com/)
North Arm Farm (www.northarmfarm.com/)
Nairn Falls Provincial Park (bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/na...)
The Beer Farmers (www.thebeerfarmers.com/)
Were we prepared for our trip and was it amazing? Well…

Have you been so focused on your regular life to-do list that you’ve forgotten what you want out of life? A few years back we were in the same place...maybe worse. We’re Chris and Melissa. We ditched the suburban house to travel, pursue our dreams and embrace midlife. We’re sharing our nomadic journey in hopes of inspiring yours. Be sure to take a moment and subscribe to keep up with our #midlifemovement. We upload videos every Friday.
I've only ever visited up to Whistler, never been to Pemberton and only heard of the festivals. Wow i clearly been missing out! Gorgeous waterfall and nature all around, but drinks with a beautiful backdrop? now THAT is a trip 😀
I live in Pemberton.I also love the mount-curry coffee shop
Saw the title of your new adventure and almost fell off the couch. Collected myself and thought Pemmie AND North Arm Farms all wrapped up in one day with a hike and wind down bevy. Good call. Beautiful day for it!!! Love Melissa's new? HH hat/toque..
Yea, I know a year later, and a dollar short, but there's also a brewery in Pemberton, Schramm, or Pemberton Distillery that makes a fantastic organic potato vodka. They also have artisan gin.
You are both pretty brave going there even with the ice tracks. You never know how quickly the situation can change. I've lived here all my life and did back pack in the mountains when I was younger. I have heard of Nairn falls but never have been there🙂 My neighbour who has now passed told me stories of his boyhood in Pemberton. They were poor and lived off the land to a large degree. His Mom harvested wild berries and plants and preserved them. They would trade with the Indians a couple times a year. He remembered very well his horses and sleigh rides in the winter.
Thank you for sharing that and also for watching. We're obviously pretty new to hiking in such grand places, so we try to take it easy and we tend not to do risky things. There were some points on the trail where a fall could have resulted in rolling down into the river... but not many spots. And we were VERY careful.
@@chrisplusmelissa A little adventure is life enhancing but yes....Please stay careful.
Am going there soon thank you for the video
Our pleasure. Hope you have a good time there.
Nice day of adventure, great area and nice weather….perfect.
Yes it was! Thank you for watching.
Another fun to watch video. Crazy Canuck Drive was likely named after Canadian alpine skiers Jim Hunter, Dave Irwin, Dave Murray, Ken Read and Steve Podborski, known as the Crazy Canucks. (In case you didn't know)
Ahh... we did NOT know that. Thank you for the info! :)
The flooding in November caused epic damage. The Lower Mainland was cut off by ground from the rest of Canada. The highways were out as was rail service. The Coquihalla had about 20 washouts alone 5 bridges that were destroyed or nearly destroyed. That was just part of the damage. Towns were evacuated. Gas was rationed for a month. It was crazy. SO MUCH DAMAGE.
I remember hearing about it ... the crazy weather needs to stop.
Those foot grippy things are just about ubiquitous here in the Yukon. I almost chocked when you first said $100!!! Even with our prices, that was a lot. $25? Much better! I've not been to Pemberton; it looks like a nice place. And, the further north you go, the more remote things become. No-one on the highways, let alone the trails!
Yeah... we felt we were getting bamboozled. We're happy we found some less expensive ones! Someday...we'll go to the Yukon. It seems so remote!
Sorry I’m giving you way too much comments but in the summer if you come here there’s a lot of animals that you can feed.😄
Great area to pick shrooms...
Dan... I'm not sure we'll be doing that, but good to know. :D
An avalanche is an avalanche of snow and ice. A rock slide is a rock slide. You don't have both at the same time almost ever. That would be a big rarety.
Good to know! Thank you for helping us better understand. :)
Oh yeah and also have you checked out the signal Hill Elementary school?
We did not... we're both past the elementary age. :D
i just drove that highway all the way to HWY 97. I coulda been in the show.
Typically... our videos were from a couple of weeks ago... so you may have actually driven by a tad later. :D Thanks for watching!
You moved to Maine. Good choice! The maritime states or Canadian provinces are awesome to live and love. Seafood and the ocean are the draw.
Are you guys not afraid of bears? Looks beautiful but I'd be terrified of encountering a bear
We are quite afraid of bears. :D However, we thought we were close enough to civilization so that the chances were very slim. We used to have bear spray... maybe we should always have bear spray.
