  • Vetiver and orris, which is from a rhizome really, not a root. We look at earthy notes and smell some vetiver and orris based perfumes I made.

    very good discussion on powdery notes. I am very curious to know does irone really smell powdery. Its very expensive, but I am planning to use it in my Rose De Mai composition for incense to give a elegant powdery character.

      I've never bought irone alone, I just have orris butter and CO2 extract, and Orris Givco. It's powdery in that original powder was made from orris.

      @@SarahMcCartney4160 okay, great insight. I have Orris Givco, but never tried using it. Orris butter and CO2 extract would be very very expensive!
