I'm 66, and have been left with a dodgy heart after contracting Sepsis earlier this year... The biggest compliment I can pay to this feller is that I've been inspired so much by his videos that I'm spending a not so small fortune on hiking/camping gear. It may well kill me, but if anyone can think of a better way to go, then I'm all ears!!!
Thanks Steve - hope you get well soon and can get out and about to enjoy the great outdoors :)
Take care and thanks for watching

Ben Nevis as I have never seen it, Having only having got up and down as fast as I could on the 3 peaks challenge 2 years ago it was dark, wet, misty -5 up top windy I didnt even get to see 10 metres infront of my own hand up there before cowering in that hut/shelter for 10 mins it was frankly the most unpleasant mountain id ever summited. It truly is beautiful to apprciete through your video absolutely stunning I love watching your videos keep up the good work who are these 9 mad people disliking this video ....
Thanks Steve - hope you enjoyed the video - this was a special day on Ben Nevis - great to get it on such a good day :)

Thankyou for sharing these beautiful routes Murray ❤🏴❤
Simply the BEST ... a terrific channel. Big thanks.
This is the safest way for me to see view Ben Nevis Murray , stunning filming and some scary looking ridges . Looked like it was one of those special days when conditions were perfect. TFS atb Dave
It’s a grand setting - some of the ridges look way worse with the skewed angle of the action camera - still not a place to slip kind you :)

Thank you-Thank you-Thank you-very much enjoyed watching your adventure on Ben Nevis.
Love your channel with yrs, I have fond memories of the Aréte and the Ben in white out conditions Jan 1991
Great adventure as usual Murray, you certainly pick some cracking weather, looking forward to your next one, stay safe Jim
Once again, thanks for the trip out and about on the hills of bonny Scotland.
That was a serious walk. Fantastic. Great film. Barrie
Great video Murray, one of my favourites. I was up there 28th April 21 and was blessed with similar conditions. Can't wait to get up the north face this winter so thanks for sharing this spectacular route 👌
Hi mate. I’m a bit late but I hope you see this. I am 19 and I don’t do the best with my mental health, struggling to feel joy at times, not all of the time, just some of the times, however when it’s bad, it is insanely bad. These videos are amazing, you are amazing more to the point big man. A true Scotsman who loves his country and it’s scenery👍🏻thank you mate for making me feel okay while I watch your videos.
Hope you're doing well brother...
Really great video. Thanks for sharing.
That was stunning..!! Take a sneaky day off and climb Ben Nevis ?? love it .
Good Morning From New Zealand, Wonderful Scotland's Mountains Video, Thanks for sharing, have a great rest of your week
Great job Murray, beautiful photography of your adventures.
That morning light on the crags was amazing! Crisp but not harsh, no wind, barely a cloud. Beautiful and dramatic. A great job as always. Thanks. 👍
It’s always surprising to me when I watch some American vanlife UA-cam channels where they can easily get up to three times the height of Ben Nevis by car! A different scale over there, eh?
PS: love the turban! 👳♂️
The head wear stopped my scalp being sun burned ;) lol - should have carried more sun cream with me ;)

What a glorious day, never seen the Ben looking better :)
another great video and photos, Many thanks for sharing Murray ATB
Just stunning. Thank you Murray.
Heading up next Thursday then wild camping to lochlomand
I can't wait now iv saw your video!
It's our very own new Zealand
Another fantastic presentation / Adventure 👏👏👏
Absolutely fantastic scenery.
Just brilliant. I would love to be able to do what you did in this video but........I'm 76 with COPD so I imagine anything more than a bit of a hill would be the end of me. Fortunately, videos like yours still enable me to enjoy the views and a very limited experience of what I and others are missing. Thank you for allowing us to climb Ben Nevis with you. The nearest I got was a few years ago when we went up in a gondolas to a cafe part way up. At least we experienced a 'white out' when taking in the views there. Amazing how conditions change so quickly. You have my admiration sir. Stay safe.
Superb production and filming. Thank you
Great video ❤
Simple and beautiful.
Ben Nevis via the CMD one of my all time favorites!
Awesome vid again 👌
Amazing , them views absolutely stunning . Great video.
That looked like a wonderful days walking.
Another classic, absolutely brilliant Murray👍🏻
Belting video murray great for some insight to the cmd arete route, put me abit at ease I'm doing ben solo at the back end of march for the first time, hoping it's a day like this and not the wet stuff.
Hope you get good weather for your trip to Ben Nevis 🤞🤞👍
Just brilliant in every way. What a fantastic day.
Done it today. It’s a powerful mountain.Amazing .I wish it was not that cloudy.
You are right it’s like heaven.
Brilliant Murray loved the video just stunning scenery
A well spent 22 minutes of my life. Inspiring stuff! Thank you.
Another great vid. West highlands is so rocky and grand, Cairngorms are vast and spacious but I can't think of anything in the UK that can convey grandeur, height and space better than standing on the CMD Arete and looking around.
Fantastic footage once again,Murray !
Great video making it all look rather easy.
You fly along there. Very exciting route.
Fabulous weather that i can only hope for on my day up there.
Found all your tips and advice really helpful. My anxiety of what lays ahead has reduced some.😅. My confidence back.😎.
Brilliant!
Beautiful mountain ,fantastic video and story . Climed it with my father in 1961 . The wind was extremely strong .
This film is truly one of your very best Murray. This side of the Ben reminds me a lot of the Swiss Alps (a bit like the Western Face of the Matterhorn). I couldn't believe that you got it all to yourself (actually, I was happy to see that). Fantastic views and great quality but what makes it even more special is the editing...absolutely fantastic job you've done there. Thank you for sharing it. Greets. Attila
Thanks Attila - it was a special day on Ben Nevis for sure - so good to get the Ben on such a nice day :) very alpine feeling for sure :)

Absolutely fabulous, what a day. Never seen The Ben captured so spectacularly. So need to return to the hill and do this well at least the CMD route.
Thanks Darrell, I've still to do the Ben via the Pony Tack, I just love the North Fave - such a contrasting mountains :) Hope you get good weather if you do the CMD Arete :)

What an amazing day you got ! Those views 😍
Amazing scenery Murray! Many thanks! Dave.
Love the CMD Arete been nearly 23 yrs last time I was on there, did it early February and was absolutely awesome... been to Ben Nevis many times over the years, one year I hiked to the CIC hut to climb no5 gully from Glen Nevis Valley, just as I got to the CIC hut the heavens opened up, there were 2 local lads that I had seen at the CIC and they asked if I was going to climb, but when the rain came, I said not now, so they asked where I had parked, and i said Glen Nevis Valley, so they offered to give me a lift from the golf club car park, and that I had to meet up with them in the Nevis Range bar later on... so I did and I couldn't of asked for a better night out and friendship of two local climbers, who also offered me a cuppa tea at the CIC hut .. awesome place Fort William and very friendly.... hoping to get there in July possibly the last 2 weeks as I've got 3 weeks off to do some climbing and scrambling and a visit to the CMD Arete and hoping to get to the Cuillin Ridge traverse and sleep on the ridge for maybe 2 nights and enjoy the tranquil nights on the Cuillin Ridge and watch the stars ... Great vid might do that route looks cool 😎👌👍
Fabulous as usual
another superb trip beautifully filmed yet again...giving me itchy feet to get up there Murray...!
wonderful video, thank you. hope to travel over from Ireland next year to do this.
A superb video well presented. I’ve done Ben but now I’ve seen your walk and the view from carn mor. I feel it’ll be on my list later this year before the winter setts in . for the view of the north face of Ben looks stunning An early start and possibly a night out to catch the sun rise.
Cheers for the info
Really enjoyed this great piece of filming of a tremendous day - Ledge Route and Carn Mor Dearg the perfect traverse of the Ben. You're absolutely right about needing care crossing No5 gully if you traverse from Coire na Ciste; I have seen people in trouble here before even into early summer if they haven't had crampons.
I absolutely adore your videos. I would love to be able to do this. Scotland is the most beautiful country in the world. Nowhere compares to it for me at all. The views and scenery are just mesmerising. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful journeys with us all. Makes me want to get in my car and just go to Scotland right now.
Great vid Murray, you're a flppin inspiration man!
Absolute quality 👍👍
Absolutely brilliant..... thanks Murray.
Stay safe.

Great video Murray. Well done 👍
Absolutely stunning views Murray.
Nice to see you sporting the simond trousers, they're top notch!
Loving them - superb trousers - might be coming out in cold wet weather but hoping to get the summer trousers out at some point soon 🤞🤞 (when summer finally arrives )
Wonderful, Murray. Thanks for bringing us along...
What a glorious day! I went up Ben Nevis in 1990 with my dad, on the tourist path. We saw some people come up from the north side, and I remember kind of assuming they'd been scaling sheer cliffs with ropes on - now I've seen the route you took, it doesn't actually look all that difficult after all. Still hard work, though, and there's obviously a need for care. Perhaps one day I'll get to try it. Thanks for another great video!
Truly fantastic record of an epic day out. I am inspired to return Murray - I shall start to watch the forecast right now - Thank you.
Hope you get to return to Ben Nevis soon and get a nice weather window for climbing it :)

What an amazing day out ..make life worth living with view like this 😌
This is a great vid because its an eye opener to what the Ben is really like as most people come up the path from glen Nevis and they probably think how on earth do people get seriously hurt as going up the path is more of a slog than dangerous but from the cic or CMD it highlights how more dangerous the Ben is to a lot of people they dont know this way existes you can turn into torlundy carpark or come up the zip zags at BA factory and work you way onto the cic path being from the fort its on our doorstep and this walk even if your going to the cic hut never gets boring and the great thing is you dont need any climbing skills to get to the hut ( you do if your going further after that )all you need is a reasonably level of fitness and take your pets its 100 percent safe and yet again a great video
Absolutely superb Murray. Seems winters reluctant to relax its grip this year.
Hi Murray, thanks for sharing your adventure on the Ben. What stunning weather you had and what stunning scenery as ever! 😀⛰🏴

Ooft Murray, I've never seen Ben Nevis from this angle before so thanks for that! Stunning scenery, well done! :)
It was a grand day out - the 360 camera gives a completely different perspective tho - still not too keen on it but it was much easier to film with when I was needing both hands 😂

@@ScotlandsMountains Aye, but I’m assuming it’s still pretty exposed up there 😁 I haven’t climbed any serious mountains in winter that require crampons etc, but when I was up Cìr Mhòr the snow was pretty deep on the steeper sections and there were a few wee slips - so I can only imagine what that would be like across the gullies! 😶
Great video Murray, beautiful colours and the B&W shot was a stunner.
Jeez some contrast to the horizontal rain we had on Point Five Gully couple weekends ago. Absolute belter of a day you got there
Wow!! I mean just wow!!
That was just stunning to watch, the views ,the filming and just the place.
Thanks for taking us along as it was as close to being there without actually being there.

I finally went up the Ben today via the mountain path, much inspired by your videos, Murray. Thank you.
Ahhh Murray a sneaky day off aye ! None of your days are days off you kind and caring man, today all of us are up the benny with you and the amount of work you put in for all of us is unreal, and I know I speak for all of us that follow you up these mountains and munroes a big huge thank you from us all, for some of us your a lifeline to the things we used to be able to do, for others watching and listening to you is pure inspiration and I know that there are so many that are as grateful as I am at your selfless way of carrying us all up there with you, you deserve a medal man. You are a Mountain of a Man, and I’m sure you’re saving lives out here, by reminding us all what a beautiful world we live in , whilst the whole world goes mad with the things we here on the news everyday, Thank you Murray, thank you so much, we all love you to bits ! Old owl 🦉 Alaya, who wakes up in the middle of the night in pain and switches you straight on. Bless you Murray.
Thanks Again Alaya - such a nice comment - again this was a special day - not too often the weather is sooo good on Ben Nevis , but I got lucky on this occasion for sure:)

@@ScotlandsMountains your really really kind replying to me Murray, I really appreciate what you do, but don’t let me become a nuisance to you as I will be commenting a lot on your beautiful hard work, and I don’t want to become someone you feel you have to reply too all the time, you’ll never get up those mountains if you did 😂 and definantly won’t have any time to eat your pork pies 🥧 🏔️⛰️⛺️ 😄 bless you Murray old Owl 🦉who often feels like she’s flying up there with you because of your amazing cinematography, but if you ever do hear an owl, have a little chuckle. Because there’s not that many where you walk. 😄 thanks again Murray your a life saver !

omg i'd be so scared to do those narrow edges, amazing sights, i'm to old and unfit to do what you do, so thanks for doing it, so I can watch such beauty, keep it coming

Was never bothered about Ben Nevis (knowing the 'tourist' path only) but this looks incredible!
Thanks for posting
Wow! As we head into winter here in Australia this inspires me to get out there!
Even getting to the CIC hut which sits at the bottom of the north face is around 1800 feet up its the best way to go onto the Ben if you can't be bothered going up the tourist path and you've got a little bit of scrambling skills the Ben on days like this is absolutely stunning ,,,great vid
Totally spectactular, even through the fisheye lens! I've only climbed Nevis twice, and it's one of my favourite mountains. I did the Ledge Route and CMD on a glorious summer day, and I'll definitely do it in snowier conditions now (taking winter gear and helmet), having seen how beautiful it looks. The first time I climbed Nevis, I did it from the south, up from Glen Nevis, and then down the mountain path. I even enjoyed walking down the mountain path as it was a great atmosphere with lots of happy people and fantastic views to Skye, a great way to celebrate my 100th Munro. It can be hard to convince people who've only done the mountain path that Nevis is not one of the most boring mountains in Britain, but one of the most beautiful.
Absolutely agree - the Ben is always better seen from the north face side :) CMD Arete is still one of my favourite ways up any mountain (not just Ben Nevis :))
