I wonder if Cities:Skylines is now relevant for testing with fps booster (makes the game output frale properly) TMPE v11.6 (better multithreading)and first person camera updated (first person is more GPU intensive) since it can now work (somewhat) proper. Probably more with graphic mods or for CPU testing (the game still relies a ton on single core performance)

@@Spido68_the_spectator The thing is that PCIE gen 3 kinda limits the 6600XT because of the 8x lane, according to Hardware Unboxed.
Igors Lab(German TechUA-camr) tested it already and you lose around 5% in FHD and 4 to 5% in QHD. That's an acceptable margin.

The issue is that it falls behind even the most basic two fan 3060 !

The basic RTX 3060 is a different animal than the RTX 3060 Ti. But I am glad that with the way things are right now, the 6600 XT is in fact an option.

I really don't get all the hate for this card . At launch (where I live) , it was around 40% cheaper than the 3060 which , in most tests , it out performs.
In this market (Australia) its closest competitor in terms of price is the 1660ti which it thrashes in all the benchmarks I have seen .
It's because of the MSRP. For whatever reason, people think it matters even though you can't buy any card at MSRP. At least from what I've been able to gather.

In Australia 3060ti is selling for $1300-$1500 depending on the model. The 3600 starts at around $1100 . At the same retailer the RX 6600xt is $700 and is still in stock.

6600xt better for sure
RTX 3060 have a maximum power draining of 170W (higher than 6600XT) but overall temperatures are better. RX 6600XT need to be tweaked with something like MSI Afterburner on fan curves.
Surely it can't be worse than the RX 590 FATBOY. I had it, and that card was like an oven on the default clock speed, plus the very loud fans. It kicked the bucket a few weeks ago, but luckily I got the money back for it and decided to go for the 6600 XT.

all games tested are historically in favor on nvidia gpus and still the 3060 lost, so whatever, no need to bring amd strong titles cause then it compares with the ti model.

I wouldn't buy either cards, at minimum RTX 3070 ti with a bit of undervolting. These 2 are way to expensive for what you get. I got a lenovo legion 5 with an RTX 3070 for arround 1495 euro's. A way better value, and as the end of 2021 is nearing and arround this time next year the 40x0 will being released. These are hard times to make wise choices. Have to say, my laptop gpu is getting to hot for my liking. But never was a fan of Samsungs 8nm anyway. And laptop cooling is not easy. Ferry font of your channel Testing Games🤪👍

Once you get to lower FPS, 40 FPS vs 46 FPS (15%) which is basically the same experience, unless AMD makes that 6600 XT performance similar to the 3060Ti over time, they'll age similarly

I hate the 6600 xt, it is a gpu nonsense, oriented to 1080p when nowadays it has been replaced by the QHD, moreover they are also already used gpu for the 8k as the 3090. the 8 gb of the 6600 xd limit it for force of things to 1080p, and leave room for some filters such as anti-aliasing and anisotropic etc; however it does not even have a fouders model and it costs too much too much for what it is, the video tests were done in 1080p, and it is obvious that the 6600 beats the 3060 since it is for 4k, it is in comparison that it did not have to do amd

Yeah honestly. Everyones bashing on this card so fucking hard yet it's the only card I have seen for a while actually being sold at MSRP they still have some of these cards near my microcenter at 380 dollars. Thats a huge steal a card is still a card and honestly it works decently well. This might be a good alternative if you can't find anything else at msrp. Temps might be an issue but honestly having a good case equipment to keep it cool will help. I actually might consider getting this card.

AMD is great for low-mid range GPUs, but they really need to work on their high-end GPUs to keep up with Nvidia
This is the same situation since 30 years. The real problem now is that in few countries AMD isn't even cheap due to an incredible inflation. Until 2018 this way of thinking had a sense. Now, the price/performances factor is completely blown away.

Idk as a user of 3080for 6 months I never used ray tracing for more than 5min in cyberpunk. I didn't noticed any differences jn games and its a waste. I wouldn't look at it at all. Dlss is other story but not many games support it to be honest
