Completely agree on the grass pile decks. I've been cooking up 60 card bystial thunder for a while and it's so fun to solve the sequencing puzzle to crack boards and maybe only end on 1 colossus to try and slow the game to a grind. Really makes you think differently, like I started messing with using Eschatos almost exclusively as a breaker card (in this corner case, it's better than protos because I'm maining Melody of Awakening Dragon and 4 other targets)
It also is an interesting combination being a grass deck that doesn't mind playing under shifter, so it doesn't outright lose to it and can even play it for the matchups like Yubel and Snake Eye and side into things that punish the other shifter decks.
I'm seeing ritual beast as the top meta call deck right now. Its the deck that can sort of cook all the other top contenders, they just need to get through day 1.
I played a home brew Vanquish Soul pile for nats and got top 64 w it. Post banlist, all I lost was 1 ash 1 poplar, and the deck tbh got better for it bc I am able to put in other tech cards I wanted to include. I think this deck has real potential this format. Going to 2-3 regionals this month, so we'll see
ok gimmick puppet guide : still ftk with field spell , conistent enough through opp hand trap is even better than relying to c40 in my opinion (conidering fiels eff), 2 card combo's with soldiers + imsety or sarc or field , most likey to ftk with rogue (or scissors) + imsety/sarc/walls .sleeper menace i tell you , deck wasn't relying that hard on ftk tbh , also going second changed nothing .(also , this deck was confident enough to go without set rotation and walls , now we are back at it helping both field spell ftk and imsety ftk)
Rearmament can use Grass and Felis as going 2nd options in a 43-45 card deck to take advantage of it and we have cards like Phantom of Yubel, Caesar, and Pilgrim Reaper but we don't have enough good mills to make 60 card a viable option. 60 card is a fun option but it isn't a good option. When playing 60 card if Grass is negated without enough solid targets and cards to mill other cards away you would lose a considerable amount of consistency. We don't have cards like Fairy Tale Snow and so on to make 60 card decks good. However some of the things you could do is run 3 Needlbug Nest and 3 Transaction Rollback to make it work. Going first if you open Needlebug Nest you mill 5 cards during your opponents turn and if Transaction Rollback winds up being in the grave you copy the effect of Needlebug Nest and mill 5 more cards during the same turn so then the deck isn't half as clogged but even then I can only 54 or 55 cards because your still taking a extreme risks from not having enough good mills. Perhaps I'll see something that'll prove me wrong but till then I'll believe what I believe.
yup before soliders + any lv8 is combo or rogue + baby. now these lines dont exist, we dont have a a+b outside of our 1 card field spell combo, might be a world gimmick puppets run rainbow bridge
i just love branded so much, it was my first starter deck that i picked up when i got back into the game after stopping once Synchro’s came out. i filled it out with copies and adjustments, and while both the deck and my own deck list aren’t topping competitions, i enjoy playing it every single time. i know modern era is built off the complicated combo’s, but i like how i built mine has so many different outs and fun responses
For decks running Dimension Shifter, you could also run Retaliating “C” as copies 4, 5, and 6. It’s a hand trap that does basically the same thing. Its limitation is that its special summon effect reacts to your opponent using a spell to summon a monster. However, if you look at the top decks, almost all of them have these in their combos, including Tenpai (sangen kaimen), Runick (every card used to fusion), and Memento. Hell, it’s also technically searchable if you are willing to run a garnet. If a deck can make level 8 synchros, you can make Diabolantis the menacing mantis and pitch Gokipole. Gokipole’s effect in grave adds Retaliating C to hand.
Im playing a dogshit Raika Naturia pile that uses Gokipole to chainblock Evil Seed by pitching it for the summon effect or 1for1, and RetC has randomly won me more than a few Snake Eyes games. You can make Diabolantis with Camellia and Armored Lizard, either to dump a gokipole or to set up Mantis if you didnt get the chance to earlier.
@@PhuckedUpPhilosophy originally I had believed mature chronicle and nightmare throne worked, but after rereading the wording of RetC, they don’t quite meet the requirement. Technically, now the only card in the deck it works on is One for one.

it should not be allowed to put up a board of 4-5 monsters and for yubel to immediately super poly ALL OF THEM away and you just can't do anything about it even if most yubel decks aren't actually playing super poly or even the fusion, it's just incredibly toxic design not to mention as you said, even without the fiendsmith cards, they just seem to play through disruption effortlessly. it feels like whether they play or not is less dependent on whether you open any hand traps or not and whether they brick

At least they don’t normally end in generic end boards but it’s very little consolation lmao
just to confirm the gimmick puppet placement, yes if it used to be a deck when it had some feeling of ftk or loose before now that we have to run 1 more brick minimum and like 11 cards that overlap because is basically the same once per turn card and lost like 5 flex spots so the deck didnt met his end and field spell is still dum and is a custom card but the hit is really good in transforming the deck into a more fragile and dedicated FTK deck where peoples handtraps just hit a lot harder and u have less crossout targets

Okay so here's the thing with GP The deck can ftk yes but you need the field spell on hand in order to do so efficiently. You can also ftk without it but you'd need bodies which horus can provide however that in my opinion is just a brickyard but if it works then you are in a world of pain but that being said it's more easily disreputable. I'd say due to the price and overall ease of access it's just rogue tier now. It will top for sure especially with a good pilot. For those that play MD I wouldn't even be worried about the FTK that much. We don't have terra or set rotation in order to bring out the field spell and if they run horus they run into the chance of bricks also I will be honest kind of like tenpai the deck can't recover well. You touch their field spell or their graveyard and it's game really.
God, I'd love to agree with you on FKSE, as it is the most fun SE variant by far. Unfortunately, I think pure will still rule the roost, even if we get the Ulkanix import. I hope at some point we're able to play pure FK in an environment without SE. The deck is a prime example of the sort of power level YGO should be aiming for.
Don't you think the white forest deck with the fiendsmith cards could be a top tier contender deck? The added extension, lack of reliance on synchro plays, and ability to play around nib while setting up strong fields and playing many handtraps makes it better people expect, in my opinion
Thoughts on Madolche, Josh? The new support is quite strong and quick effect Tiaramisu is really strong interaction along with new extenders and new end board pieces. Personally I think it feels like Solid Tier 2. The grind game is pretty unreal and a lot of decks crumble to spinning cards non-targeting still.
Lightsworn fiendsmith looking strong this format (at least until RotA). Not talking about a 60 grass pile either, but a 40-45 card list. Doesn't care much about hand traps except shifter, gets to play bystials as both engine and non engine and mostly plays out of the GY so doesnt care much about purulia. Doesnt care about board breakers thanks to aegis being a trap version of desirei (that can be made alongside it). It also gets to potentially run the fiendsmith trap for layered interruption similar to princess in GY. Its also one of the few remaining decks post list where engraver is another starter for the deck and not just an extender/ceazar to out nib. Solid deck all round, need to counter shifter, but assuming you can survive the turn and get back to your turn, there are a lot of ways to recover from being shiftered once the GY is unlocked again.
Lowkey a deck that i do not see almost anybody talk about, even thou I think is at the same level as the Solid Tier 2 or even better than some of the Tier 2 options is Traptrix. They kept their 5 summon anti Nibiru through Rafflesia, can easily put 6-7 disruption through a hand trap, maybe less if your opponent draws multiple hand traps, but usually can put 2-3 extra disruption during the opponent's turn with Sera or Pingu, but i understand why, as this is not a deck that you usually think off when you want a rogue anti nib option with decent 1st turn for both going 1st and going 2nd, but which clearly cannot compete with Snake-Eyes/Fire Fire Kings or Yubel. Edit: They kept their 5 summon anti Nib, cause c'mon who and why is gonna hit Rafflesia :))
As a Master Duel player, seeing those TCG/OCG videos feels so sad. So many cards and archetypes to be released and they are all helpless against FKSE and Yubel. Only a big banlist can save the near future of Master Duel
MD doesnt suffer from this in the same way because of the way our format works. Yubel is a disgusting deck but you can STILL get to M1 with pretty much everything. Were not dependent on YCSs to play, so every season everyone play what they want, and we have proof of that, with yubel being the most played deck at only 17%
Thank you for this tier list. I feel better in buying Runick WF since the banlist is ready. Do you think using bystials into runick WF main deck could be a good idea now Yubel is the king of the hill ?
You should talk about what older decks need to be brought into the meta or at least what they need to be able to contend WITH the meta. I’d love to see Orcust and Cyber Dragon support but I don’t even know what that would look like. It might be fun to hear your take on them
What are your thoughts on White Forest Centurion? Calamity ban somehow made the deck feel.....better? Tbh. IMO, It feels like a new and improved Mannadium, being able to play a lot of handtraps and boardbreakers simultaneously, while also being able to eat several interruptions and keep playing, or break boards through engine alone. What are your thoughts?
I know it probably isn't good. But what's your opinion on Ice Barriers? Whether it's pure or as a Runick deck? It does get stopped by a handtrap if it doesn't have its extenders, but they seem to have some 1 card combos? I know it isn't good though, sadly. But it's new boss monster seems crazy to me.
It's because most people don't like playing ftks. You rely on winning die rolls to play your intended strategy. Can't tell you how many gimmick puppet players auto scoop game 2 when I start combo so they can just try to ftk me game 3 xD
I wish more people would consider Raidraptor in tier lists. It definitely is a deck that should command some respect and be taken seriously. Even if it is only a rogue deck.
Against a lot of decks, Raidraptor is really hard to counter, 3 unaffected bosses is crazy, the thing is Yubel doesn't care, they just crash and win by reverse damage.
@@TheVrashDrownand then what? Phantom and Samsara will change the effect of unaffected monsters to protect the board, and while the Falcons can choose other attack targets not caring about Pain, they still can't be destroyed in battle. Tenpai hasn't lost consistency due to cards like Dora Draco and Blaster but I think what will keep it from being good in anything but best of 1s is Cosmic Cyclone, Lightning Storm, and Harpies Feather Duster.
Puppets still can FTK but less consistent. They can also use non engine and their trap to control the board well enough that turn 3 is likely (and they can close turn 3 easy usually). When we get Fiendish Knight probably low tier 1 (unless it gets hit more) but til then still mid tier 2 - high rogue imo, like before the hits. Just bumped down a few slots.
As a Spright player, I genuinely believe that it’s a better deck than any of the others in the Alright/Rogue tier. But that might just be copium talking
spright player as well. It can play around nib which we will most probably see more of even if its in the side BUT I do reckon it just takes a ash + impermanence on gigantic and sprind to stop the major plays. You could play crossout to mitigate that considering we also play ash + impermanence. It should be at least on the bottom of the tier 2 slot maybe even spot behind melodious just because if it goes uninterrupted it can make a scary board
Because Lab is mid now for current power ceiling. The “fiendsmith” part of the deck like every other varient on the engine was what carried it. Lab new monster better be a Link 1 or something because they are not the best fiend deck anymore by a long shot lol
Furniture Lab with minimal Fiendsmith engine (and Azamina in the future) is very interactive and can imitate Yubel Fiendsmith board apart from Phantom. The huge issue however (like after every banlist) is the increased use of board breakers hurting the end board a lot. Sadly it sees no play at all since everyone prefers the much easier stun version.
Lab requires someone dedicated to its strategy than waifu gimmick bait. No one has reached that ceiling with it yet or cannot be bothered due to meta brain rot.
Can't forget about my boys unchained. I've been playing them in simulators for a long time and the banlist did virtually nothing to them. They can still compete thanks to fiendsmith and aerial eater.
Not really relevant to the topic but i really enjoyed playing ice barrier in MD's Water & Wind event. I can't see it being good outside of sealed environments like that but it sure was fun to play with.
I like resonators a lot and I also think it´s a great deck, but the problem is - compared to something like snake-eyes it´s not. The deck is really easy to understand and if someone knows, what cards they have to interrupt, you are fucked. While you can play through ash and nibiru if you know what you are doing, it dies 100% to droll, it also dies 100% to shifter. Your plays are pretty linear and repetitive, the deck is cool, but it´s clearly not top tier.
I’m curious what your thoughts on Ice Barrier eunuch would be. It’s one of the few decks now with easy access to a few Omni-negates through Herald of Arc light and Toadally awesome which helps in the face of something like Nibiru.
I don't understand why nobody talks about Voiceless Melodious. Everyone pretty much always says that Voiceless has fallen off because it can just put an omni and that's it(pure version) or that you cannot play Voiceless Branded anymore because Branded Fusion is at one now. In my eyes Voiceless Melodious has always been the better version of the deck. You can end up on boards that are way better than the other versions plus the deck doesn't care about Nibiru. Quite ironic that Lo and Bacha are next to each other in the list. ^^
What do you think about board breakers now Ip going into a card effect indestructible apollousa isn't possible anymore and we have lesser omnis with baronne and savage banned
Still cards like crystal wing dragon, arc light, and fa dawn dragster can be potential problems in the near future if specific strats are developed around these 3.

Loses hard to nib
I played a home brew Vanquish Soul pile for nats and got top 64 w it. Post banlist, all I lost was 1 ash 1 poplar, and the deck tbh got better for it bc I am able to put in other tech cards I wanted to include. I think this deck has real potential this format. Going to 2-3 regionals this month, so we'll see
Time for Ancient Gear to pop off
ok gimmick puppet guide : still ftk with field spell , conistent enough through opp hand trap is even better than relying to c40 in my opinion (conidering fiels eff), 2 card combo's with soldiers + imsety or sarc or field , most likey to ftk with rogue (or scissors) + imsety/sarc/walls .sleeper menace i tell you , deck wasn't relying that hard on ftk tbh , also going second changed nothing .(also , this deck was confident enough to go without set rotation and walls , now we are back at it helping both field spell ftk and imsety ftk)
Without fieldspell you need a 3 card combo to ftk with puppet
Whole deck is a part of those 3 cards so chances you see it are high
Higher the chances, higher the weakness tho
There is 2 card combo that left opp with only 100 life points. If uou arrive at it you loose only to droplet😊
I mean droplet, imperm, raigeki etc@@andredrawingstm9083
yup before soliders + any lv8 is combo or rogue + baby. now these lines dont exist, we dont have a a+b outside of our 1 card field spell combo, might be a world gimmick puppets run rainbow bridge
No you can do it with thrust plus a starter
i just love branded so much, it was my first starter deck that i picked up when i got back into the game after stopping once Synchro’s came out. i filled it out with copies and adjustments, and while both the deck and my own deck list aren’t topping competitions, i enjoy playing it every single time. i know modern era is built off the complicated combo’s, but i like how i built mine has so many different outs and fun responses
You can only chain Ret C to spells that immediately special summon on activation. Monster Reborn yes, Kashtira Birth no.
Which card does yubel have that gets hit by retaliating ?

I agree. Yubel is so fucking corny. Idk why Konami keeps coming out with cards that are so unfun to play against.
it should not be allowed to put up a board of 4-5 monsters and for yubel to immediately super poly ALL OF THEM away and you just can't do anything about it
even if most yubel decks aren't actually playing super poly or even the fusion, it's just incredibly toxic design
not to mention as you said, even without the fiendsmith cards, they just seem to play through disruption effortlessly. it feels like whether they play or not is less dependent on whether you open any hand traps or not and whether they brick
Super poly needs a ban idc what anyone says
@@MiyaoMeow588 all their cards have about 4 effects they can activate a turn including an effect that not only negates a monster effect, but lets them go +3 sometimes lol. @@marvynjeanbaptiste3206yes but not in reagards of yubel they dont even play that card. The card is ingeneral Toxic.
just to confirm the gimmick puppet placement, yes if it used to be a deck when it had some feeling of ftk or loose before now that we have to run 1 more brick minimum and like 11 cards that overlap because is basically the same once per turn card and lost like 5 flex spots so the deck didnt met his end and field spell is still dum and is a custom card but the hit is really good in transforming the deck into a more fragile and dedicated FTK deck where peoples handtraps just hit a lot harder and u have less crossout targets
Pandemonium archfiends looking real strong in this format
I loved those back in the day.
Pandemonium has more searchers than samgen summoning
@@charlesfort6602 I know, I was messing around in Omega and built a lore-themed pandemonium deck and it's pretty easy to get. You have no combo potential and the fiends aren't strong enough for the downsides they have, but it doesn't matter. Still a really cool archetype

Try this Runick Lightsworn list. I played around heavily with White Woods and it never felt as good as this list. I’ve had quite a few matches into Runick White Woods with it and it absolutely solos. It is the most absurdly consistent Runick deck I’ve ever played. The larger Bystial package is so mandatory. Looping shufflers with Omega is also nuts.
Off the top of my head it is 3x Weiss 3x Wulf 3x Dragonling 3x Felis 1x Raiden 3x Charge of the light brigade 3x Tip 3x Destruction 3x Freezing Curses 3x Flashing Fire 3x Slumber 1x Smiting Storm 1x dispelling 2x Fountain 1x Mudora 1x Keldo 2x Druiswurm 2x Baldrake 1x Magnamhut

Okay so here's the thing with GP
The deck can ftk yes but you need the field spell on hand in order to do so efficiently.

I hope at some point we're able to play pure FK in an environment without SE. The deck is a prime example of the sort of power level YGO should be aiming for.
Heavily agree. Not many understand this and just use personal bias as a clear cut decision.
Hate to break to ya, but fire kin wil has never been the best deck In the room
Don't you think the white forest deck with the fiendsmith cards could be a top tier contender deck? The added extension, lack of reliance on synchro plays, and ability to play around nib while setting up strong fields and playing many handtraps makes it better people expect, in my opinion
Also interested in his thoughts on this
Thoughts on Madolche, Josh?
Based tier list, cheering for you and your team on MD Josh 🎉
I made a weird P.U.N.K and Kashtira deck and am excited to see how it works
Edit: They kept their 5 summon anti Nib, cause c'mon who and why is gonna hit Rafflesia :))
it's definitely slept on. I think the thing that holds it back is how badly a well-played ht can absolutely stop it in its tracks
As a Master Duel player, seeing those TCG/OCG videos feels so sad. So many cards and archetypes to be released and they are all helpless against FKSE and Yubel. Only a big banlist can save the near future of Master Duel
they can do the limit on launching if they want, like what they did to tear and spright
MD doesnt suffer from this in the same way because of the way our format works. Yubel is a disgusting deck but you can STILL get to M1 with pretty much everything. Were not dependent on YCSs to play, so every season everyone play what they want, and we have proof of that, with yubel being the most played deck at only 17%
We talking playable right after banlist or into ROTA? If into ROTA, what about Mermail Atlantean? I feel like it's a solid between Tier 1.5 or Tier 2
just right now since he not factoring in the Azamina cards otherwise he would of just put snake eye as the best deck again
Thank you for this tier list. I feel better in buying Runick WF since the banlist is ready.
Do you think using bystials into runick WF main deck could be a good idea now Yubel is the king of the hill ?

What are your thoughts on White Forest Centurion?
Calamity ban somehow made the deck feel.....better? Tbh.
IMO, It feels like a new and improved Mannadium, being able to play a lot of handtraps and boardbreakers simultaneously, while also being able to eat several interruptions and keep playing, or break boards through engine alone.
What are your thoughts?
I am kinda curious about how Drytron might be able to perform, even if Eva doesn't really impact the deck DAD is still a really powerful catd
I know it probably isn't good. But what's your opinion on Ice Barriers? Whether it's pure or as a Runick deck?

I know it isn't good though, sadly. But it's new boss monster seems crazy to me.
It's odd how little people know about gimmick puppet though. Seems very underrated and overlooked.

I need to know how good people think Raidraptors are. Since besides Runick this is the deck I have been playing with the most this format
imo swordsoul is actually decently playable rn. it struggles vs yubel, yes. but apart from yubel it does pretty well.
When you see the number 2 while youre out and about, do you silently fistpump
Are there any good Labrynth deck lists post ban?
Labrynth fiendsmith is pretty good im surprised no one plays it
Because Lab is mid now for current power ceiling.
So what do you think about fire king tri brigade in the current format?
Can't forget about my boys unchained. I've been playing them in simulators for a long time and the banlist did virtually nothing to them. They can still compete thanks to fiendsmith and aerial eater.
I think Mimighoul is actually not terribly placed a rogue strategy right now.

I just wish one tier list would put my resonators on the shelf man it's truly not a bad deck
How do you feel about 60 card Paleo?
I’m curious what your thoughts on Ice Barrier eunuch would be. It’s one of the few decks now with easy access to a few Omni-negates through Herald of Arc light and Toadally awesome which helps in the face of something like Nibiru.
autocorrected runick to eunuch lol
I don't understand why nobody talks about Voiceless Melodious. Everyone pretty much always says that Voiceless has fallen off because it can just put an omni and that's it(pure version) or that you cannot play Voiceless Branded anymore because Branded Fusion is at one now. In my eyes Voiceless Melodious has always been the better version of the deck. You can end up on boards that are way better than the other versions plus the deck doesn't care about Nibiru. Quite ironic that Lo and Bacha are next to each other in the list. ^^
What do you think about board breakers now
Ip going into a card effect indestructible apollousa isn't possible anymore and we have lesser omnis with baronne and savage banned
Still cards like crystal wing dragon, arc light, and fa dawn dragster can be potential problems in the near future if specific strats are developed around these 3.
