- Hello to all, i'm a spanish fan of CDD who haves, naturally, the spain DVD.
I've see you have a lot of videos with bad quality...
And i can see to that the english CDD fans LOVE the Widescreen and WISH someday Warner releases a Good version. So, that ways, i put for you a good.
One of those good movies that never got the fame it should have.

+VC That's what happens when a movie is made in the midst of a major merger. Turner and Time Warner linked up around this time and with all the focus on the merger, there wasn't much effort in giving this movie the proper advertising campaign of a theatrical release. Ended up only making 1/10th of its budget back at the box office, 27 million shy of the 30 million it cost to make. I doubt home media vindicated it much either since it also had the bad luck to come shortly before the home media formats went through the changing of the guard as the old standard VHS gave way to DVD, helping to confuse the market as consumers vacillated between the old format and the new. It was a complicated time for selling movies for home, do you release on the old standard, or do you cater to the early adopters? It ended up splitting the market. In general, traditional animation had it pretty rough at the very end of the 90s and as we went into the new millennium, it seems like every factor you could think of was working against it. The studio shakeups and mergers, the rise of the competing CG medium, the barrage of deaths of the great directors, animators, and voice actors who had shepherded the medium for the prior 60 years and were still active right up to their last years.

It was so good that they've banned some of the songs in America. Probably other countries too, but I can't find most of the songs. Gonna make a petition for a remake that ISN'T live action.
I remember watching this over and over as a kid. I’m in my 30s now and I still come back to these videos and it brings me joy. A timeless classic.
The first time I watched this movie and when that song hit, it was so overwhelmingly good that my child-self couldn't handle the feels and I came close to tears. It is a movie that I will never forget.

I was a child when I first saw this movie. I am 27 now. I recently watched it on DVD and it felt like I stepped into a time machine and got transported back to my childhood.
They talk about "movie magic" in reference to special effects and camera tricks. If you ask me, what I experienced watching Cats Don't Dance again is the TRUE definition of "movie magic".

Loved watching this movie as a kid. Strangely enough, I'm now an admin/secretary like Sawyer who dreams about acting, dancing and singing as a career. Sure hope my time comes!

25th Anniversary of Cats Dont Dance! Just enjoyed watching it again!
I don't see why this didn't get the success it deserves. This is one of the few movies from my childhood that I actually remember feeling emotion in. It wasn't just something my mom put on the TV. I was 5 when this came out. I was just reminded of this great movie today.

I think this has got to be the most under-rated movie of all time. The music, the theme, the characters are just amazing.
Danny, Sawyer and Pudge will be memorable to me.
I feel we should let the children who grew up in this year and the future know about this gem
Thumbs up if you think this movie could be shown in theaters today, and every audience would love it. It would get the reception and fame it deserves.
I love the fact that the credits were so carefully placed to feel like they were in the movie and not just blend credits.

Cats Don't Dance was recently re-released on DVD in 16:9! It's available on Amazon for about $12. Just make sure the version you pick is the 2016 re-release, not the 2002 version which is in 4:3.

Oh my EFFIN gosh. This was and still is my favorite animated movie. Watched it more than any Disney movie when i was a kid, and that was only around maybe ten years ago. My brother broke two of the VHS copies i had, but i ended up obtaining another copy. It was meant to be!

At the moment the train starts to move, look at the car on the left, next to the caboose. You can plainly see that only a very small part of it was drawn because when the train backs up in that spit second there's no train on the very hard left side of the screen. It's only there for a split second.
You know, I totally wish the animators animated the entire train itself, because I wanted to see what the engine looked like pulling that train.
But still, this is a fun movie. :)
A very inspiring film. I know. It inspired me to be a filmmaker and a creative one. This movie will always be in my heart for years to come.

I wish the character voices outside of songs were louder. It was hard to stay engaged in watching it as a child, and it wasn't until I watched it in my teens that I really learned a lesson from it.

@@tylerbollinger118 And, if I remember correctly, Twister gets referenced at the end along with a bunch of other Warner Brothers movies. It features the animal cast in place of the actors on the movie posters.
