This movie deserved way more love and publicity than it got. I saw this when I was about 8 and loved it even though I didn't get all of the references. I wish more people knew about it.
I agree it deserves more respect. I was 4 when the movie was first released but I didn't see it until five years ago just before I started college. I didn't get all the references either although I was familiar with the Golden Age of Hollywood but not enough to know every single movie from the era CDD spoofed. For five years, I've been developing a crossover fanfic idea with Pebble and the Penguin. My partner however has been coming and going on and off.
Fun fact: I rented this video on vhs every week in the dot and the video shop owner just ended up giving it to me for free. I loved it that much as a kid🥰
This film is a hidden treasure. Such a great feel good film :) I will admit this one passed me during childhood due to the reasons mentioned. It's a real crime to have such a film not shine in the spotlight.
When my parents first got me this film as a kid, I honestly didn't think I'd like it. No one has any idea how wrong I was XDD I freaking LOVE this film.
I don't know when, why, or how my mother had a disk to this movie but I know for a fact I would watch it all the time during car rides and just in spare time when I was younger! Now I'm 16 and still love this movie:)
Without a doubt my favourite film of my childhood, I used to have it on video and used to repeat it over and over again. The sound track was amazing, the story line was fantastic and it was just overly enjoyable to watch as a kid. Don't think anything could ruin this film for me after it being such a prominent film when I was growing up. It came out when I was 3. I'm 19 now and my parents found a DVD of it online and gave it to me as a Christmas present, can finally watch it again! Still as good as ever. To this day I can still pretty much remember every word of every song. I watched it for the first time in years the other day and was mouthing every word as if they were second nature to me.
Listening to this and happy-crying because yesterday I found out I got a job in the field I've been wanting to break into since college graduation. Eight long years. So much has happened to me professionally in those eight years, good and bad. Keep working and fighting for what you want because dreams CAN come true. ❤ OH, and of course "Cats Don't Dance" is an amazing movie!
+Knextlegend I've literally been looking for this movie for months xD Took me forever to finally find it. I was OBSESSED with it as a kid. So much so that I literally broke the goddamn video xD So I'm in the exact same boat as you!

This is one my favorite movie. It's a great story, and there's other long lost classics Quest for Camelot and the King and I the animated version 1999 just incase your wondering. Such as Paper animation, If you love stuff like that then tell everyone about it and pass it on
I finally found the movie! I always remembered a music scene from this movie, but never remembered what movie it was from, and I just accidently came across it.
Ivan Colonna I rewatched it recently and it is actually a good movie. I've seen an equal amount of positive and negative reviews so really, it's up to you to decide if you think it's a good movie.
this movie was a rushed release last from turner animation studios. , its sad ,its really well done. great cast . My roommate worked on this movie. This was the last thing that Gene Kelly helped /consulted for a movie. he showed the animators how the y should dance.
Jesus. Didn't expect this little number to kick me straight in the nostalgia. I watched this movie as a kid, but recently one of the songs started playing in my head and I couldn't place it, (It was Danny's arrival song) which prompted me to look into this again. Learning the history of this movie and how it got shafted is honestly such a crime... Pretty much every song in this soundtrack is godly (more so ironic as it came out the same time as Disney's Hercules haha)

The worst thing is, it could have done decently well, but Turner having been bought out around the same time, Warner Bros. I packed my hopes, we're ready to roll
We're on our way
With a little love, we know
Nothing can stop us, so
Tell everyone, turn the spotlight on
Now our time has come
Ooooh
Can you feel the power now?
The day is ours
For you and I, there comes a time
To hold our heads high
We make a little history
Each time we dare to dream
Tell everyone, turn the spotlight on
Now our time has come
Our time has come, we're gonna
Walk in the sun, oh
I packed my hopes, we're ready to roll
We're on our way
We make a little history
Each time we dare to dream
Tell everyone, turn the spotlight on
Now our time has come
Our time has come
