Northwest of Fort Worth, from Eagle Mountain Lake on, there have been sightings of mountain lions for decades. We know they are out here, but they are rarely seen. They are mostly shy animals that want no contact with humans.

this is beyond awesome and a rare life experience...I hope everyone just sits back and enjoys the experience while the cat is in the area. If you drive through the neighborhoods at night you will see multiple rabbits down every street, I am actually kind of surprised that their are not tons of sightings of owls and other nocturnal birds of prey.

I've seen one in Las Colinas several years ago near the Mobil Exxon HQ "jungle" as I was driving home during 3rd shift. I couldn't believe my eyes, noone would believe me.

I agree with you people shouldn’t live in places like that if they don’t know the environment and how to be mindful

@@doublevision84no,but even though I'm not a crazy fanatic animal right person or a climate control scam freak, don't believe in any of that, just understand that these few people should be wise and not ignorant about the wildlife out there and especially leave nature alone not to go canoodle with it or look for harming them. My Lord Jesus . There is a middle ground here.. have a heart and compassion.. and yes, I am a Republican.. but politics here should not matter. We should be nice enough and smart enough to leave animals ALONE!!!!

One may act surprised, but mountain lions were in that area longer than humans have been.

Survival of the fittest. We are smart enough to build shelter, they are not. You don’t shame them for hunting prey

Is this a Cougar or a Bobcat? Bobcats are common in the Dallas area can grow to the size of a medium size dog at 40 lbs. However, Cougars are extremely rare in the Dallas area and can grow to 150 lbs.

You don't move wildlife to an area they are not familiar with. They will die! Humans have built homes in wildlife territory so the best outcome is to learn to live with them!

Was just going to say it is after the rabbits. Long ago, I've spent time in texas,New Mexico, Colorado & Arizona as well. That was likely a male being so big ,but not necessarily an absolute has to be. Mature alpha females can get very large also if given time. These days most hunting & trapping of these Panthers, cougars or mountain lions has stopped so it is very possible for a female to find adequate life span to reach full skeletal size & weight which takes them much longer than males due to the interruption of growning kittens instead of their own body for the first 1 - 3 years. I still think it a male though by its posture & movements. We
used to hunt them with cat hound dogs.Forsure it's over the 200 lbs mark. A big cat by any regard. I'd say 210 - 220 lbs. Nice video, cool cat,I'm into it,call me the cat man. I have a feral colony suspect of cross breeding with local Bobcats. They are club tailed, but not bobbed. Giant Mainecoon is in the mix. The biggest have been 30 - 35 lbs. I have a 7 month, 1 week old female kitten (wild) I can pet that roams here. Her pop was a 35lb alpha monster that looked twins to her. She is 12 lbs or so now. The alpha Toms here in this colony drove off or killed her pop before I could shoot it. These rogue wandering alpha males that are not colony members are nothing but trouble & you have no choice but shoot them before everything is torn up & infected. It managed to breed 2 larger females before it vanished, 1 was the alpha female of this colony. They got stuck & would not come out, that was the first litter she ever lost in 5.5 years.
