You have a lovely collection. It's so refreshing to see someone with a smaller collection doing a declutter. Usually it's someone with like 10 drawer units and they are hoping to get down to 8 or 9 lol. I still love watching those ones too, but yours was a very nice change of pace and more realistic to most people.
Minimalism is a process. It takes a few rounds of decluttering before you get where you want to be. I try to have only one of each category - for someone into makeup I have a very minimal collection but to ‘normal’ people, I’ve been told I have enough to open a store (but it’s really only one drawer).
I’ve also been trying to keep my makeup spending in check. I found that whenever I change up how I store my makeup, it helps me remember what I have and what I gravitate towards. Great video!
If you're a big makeup artistry hobbyist like me, I think it's best to get real with yourself about what you actually use, and what part of makeup you enjoy doing most. I had a huge collection of eye, lip, and face products, when I was only ever using the same couple lip and face products- I didn't even enjoy trying out new ones! I realized that the eye makeup part of makeup was the part that I enjoyed most, that fulfilled my creativity most, so I kept a larger collection of eyeshadow palettes, but greatly minimized the rest of my collection. Two years later, I'm having more fun doing makeup because my collection supports the part of the process that I love most, and because I feel less stress over owning, storing, and sorting through such a surplus.
Girllll: take the broken Nars translucent powder (works for anyyyyy broken powder!!) and add a tablespoon of rubbing alcohol right to the compact with broken powder, let it absorb for like 2-3 minutes, smooth it out w/ a small spatula, take a tissue and fold it in half… lay it over top after all liquid is gone, and press it firmly into place, remove the tissue and let it dry opened on the counter for 24 hours and boom!! Brand new!! The alcohol will all evaporate and you’ll be left with a brand new product!! GAME CHANGER!!
It's a journey...Things I've decided to only keep one of ... Primer (hourglass), powder (Westman Atelier), glow product (Auric), cream bronzer (Charlotte Tilbury), powder bronzer (Gucci) and highlighter (Chanel Camelia). Also discovered I'm not a big eye palette gal...only quads and quints.
I just did a declutter myself I don't wear much makeup anymore at least like I normally do. I did a declutter to rid of things I really use and only use and I was truly surprised and Satisfied with what I have🤎 and I gave away to people who cannot afford it especially the times we are living in💕💕🙏
I always have to ask myself when I get a new product: am I going to love this for the next 2+ years? Because unless it's a mascara or brow pencil... It will take that long 😬
it'll be easier to declutter once you get to know more about the expitarion dates. For example: foundations and concealers expire after 1 year... so just buy/keep any foundation/concealer you think you could finish in 1 year. Mascaras expire after 3 months and same with liquid eyeliners. lipsticks and lipgloses last for 1 to 1 1/2 year. Powders can last up to 2 years (palettes, blushes, ..) Etc, etc, etc...
Products have their own PAO (period after opening) labels. There's a jar symbol with 6M/12M etc. average of what I own; Most Mascara says 6M, Most doe foot concealers 6M Doe foot eye primer 6M (Seems there's a theme to the stuff that goes around your eye and is a dip product) Most Powders 24M (Fenty says 12M For everything) Foundation 24M Pressed Powders can be disinfected with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Be wary of liquids in Dip containers and loose powders.
I used to buy loads of make up. Then i started getting lash extensions and stopped using eyeshadows...then i started new job, i have to wake up 6am and...straight away went minimalistic. I just use foundation, powder, blush, highliter and eyebrow pencil. Everything 1 piece only. I buy quality now,not quantity.
When I wore makeup to work and also my routine in general My list was similar; Primer Foundation Powder Eyeliner Mascara Brow Lipstick Now I have a more complex collection (bronzer, highlighter, setting spray etc) but still small when I think about it.
You have a beautiful curated collection. It’s funny because my collection is too large, but a lot of your faves are mine and usually are the only ones I reach for. I try to reach for my more “neglected” products occasionally, but I’m not sure why any more, if I know what I like… I have a channel and want to have a well rounded understanding of different formulas but a lot of what I have isn’t necessary. Thank you for this. Very inspiring.
Have you listed your declutter anywhere yet? You got rid of some great products, I’m super impressed with how well you paired down!! I’ve been binging your declutter and project pans lol
I feel you with the merit lip oil! It dries down after like 2 mins and looks weirdly satiny and not glossy. The formula is kinda thin and uncomfortable on my lips!
Maybe one of those white rectangular containers and after you use a product pit it in there. At the end of the year if you didn't use it give it away or toss it
I did massive declutter omg all my make up fits in a travel organizer now . I have too much lip products but in max two years I'll own only my faves so I'll own less
I know you're fixated on the number of things but try to focus on how they make you feel and how often you use them. It's okay to have 1 of something or 10 of something as long as you use it and you're intentional with it 🥰
I've started "shopping" at home. I have to much makeup, so instead of buying more I've started using what I have. If I find myself wanting to use something beyond the end, I take a picture of the packaging and save it to my future purchase list. I've also started working with the products I don't "like." Meaning if it doesn't damage my skin or set off my allergies I keep trying to use it until I figure out how to make it look good. After two months I've finally started find my sweetspot. So I would suggest shopping at home and saving your money for future purchases.
Okay so random question.. how did you begin getting PR as a smaller UA-cam channel? If you don’t want to share I totally understand, I was just curious as someone whose just starting out
I've got the Rose Inc lipstick and the refill should click down into place securely and twist like a normal bullet, is yours broken? Idm the thin plastic cos at least it's recycled but I'm not a fan of the shape 😅
Probably because Michelle Phan has been engaging in some very questionable behavior lately. A lot of folks think she’s joined a cult and is peddling dangerous misinformation.
The tower 28 IS AN SPF, not a tinted moisturizer. And it should be re-applied after 2hrs or spf should be reapplied another way. It won’t have a super long wear time bc it’s a TINTED SPF, not a tinted moisturizer.

I've declutter over 15 times at this point and each time I find something new to get rid of its so weird!
Same
I’ve also been trying to keep my makeup spending in check. I found that whenever I change up how I store my makeup, it helps me remember what I have and what I gravitate towards. Great video!
I love rediscovering old favorites!

Thank you so much for this tip, will definitely be saving this for the future 🥰
You did so well overtime creating a more minimal collection, now i feel inspired to declutter aswell 😬😬
definitely share what you declutter if you do one!
I really enjoy your declutter videos! You really do declutter and minimize stuff instead of simply organising.
thank you for mentioning that your lip products are fragrance free. That is my preference so it's great to know my options! Thanks!!
I decluttered mine like crazy a month ago! Now I only have about 9 palettes down from 40
So satisfying, you did a really great job for this decluttter 🥰
Thank you!

You always do such an amazing job and you have an awesome collection
Thank you so much!
So good to see your back! Have missed you! Looking forward to more of you :)
Thank you! I am hoping to think of some more video ideas and get back into the swing of things
Your cat crying 😭😭❤️
Your the only one I saw who uses nars translucent powder. I use it and I love it. On my 3rd pack now
Love this! I am always looking for new recommendations 💕
You did great! Just wondering if you have any tips for how to keep pet hair out of the air/makeup brushes? I struggle so much
Have you listed your declutter anywhere yet? You got rid of some great products, I’m super impressed with how well you paired down!! I’ve been binging your declutter and project pans lol
Haha I am so bad at listing things on Poshmark 😅 if there was anything you’re interested in just dm me!
New subscriber here! I love this you’ve inspired me too also declutter some of my collection as I also have way more than I could even use!
Kitty just wanted to be in the video too 😭
haha let's be honest she's the real star
Loved this! Please can you link your storage box? X
Love this video. Really inspirational!

Bobbi brown vitamin enriched base broke me out too
It must be the fragrance or something!
I did massive declutter omg all my make up fits in a travel organizer now . I have too much lip products but in max two years I'll own only my faves so I'll own less
that's so good tho!!
I have been into less makeup too! Good for you.
I myself cleared out the few items I'm no longer using and gave one to my mom. trying to so minimalistic in a few areas of my life
I know you're fixated on the number of things but try to focus on how they make you feel and how often you use them. It's okay to have 1 of something or 10 of something as long as you use it and you're intentional with it 🥰
You did really well!! You might have mentioned this but where did you get the organizer?
I've started "shopping" at home. I have to much makeup, so instead of buying more I've started using what I have. If I find myself wanting to use something beyond the end, I take a picture of the packaging and save it to my future purchase list.

Your bronzers are pretty!
Have you ever tried the rare beauty melt cream blushes??
Loved this! Where did you get the different containers?
Okay so random question.. how did you begin getting PR as a smaller UA-cam channel?
If you don’t want to share I totally understand, I was just curious as someone whose just starting out
Hi Ashley , you did a great job
Thank you!!
You did really good
Thank you!
Keep the Charlotte highlighter!!
Wow that’s a lot of makeup
Great video!! Can you explain what happened with Em Cosmetics?
I've got the Rose Inc lipstick and the refill should click down into place securely and twist like a normal bullet, is yours broken?
Idm the thin plastic cos at least it's recycled but I'm not a fan of the shape 😅
It snaps in place, just feels a little wobbly. Not something too bad but I already don't love it so not for me sadly
Great 👌 decluttering video thanks
Like your collection ;)
Your cat made sure it made some appearance in every shot LOL
That rose quartz palette is haunting me. I became a stay at home mom in march and I just can’t see spending that on a palette but UGHH. 😂
Palettes are soo expensive nowadays!
I own it and freaking love it I think it’s my favorite Huda palette
Can you add a link in the description box of the organizer
Can you link the container pls?
What are the thick compact blushes?
How come you aren’t a current fan of EM Cosmetics? I’m a new viewer so not sure if you speak about it in other videos.
Did something happen with em cosmetics?
Would you want to list your items for sale?
Agreed. She should. Or do a giveaway.
Why don’t you like em cosmetics right now? Did I miss something?
There's no way I could do this.
How come you don’t like em cosmetics ?
Michelle Phan is part of a religious cult that is very homophobic
I'm curious too!
The owner said she made a paralyzed man walk again and a bunch of other things.
the owner basically joint a cult, it’s quite disappointing
Rly??
okay miss 42k views 🤯🤯🤯
We have kitty twins..
"Minimal" and "minimalism" are just buzzwords for clicks. BUT decluttering is really never a bad thing.
Oo
I haven't been keeping up with beauty news. Why aren't you a fan of Em Cosmetics right now as a brand?
Probably because Michelle Phan has been engaging in some very questionable behavior lately. A lot of folks think she’s joined a cult and is peddling dangerous misinformation.
@@growingandcooking7278 I saw later from another user. Thanks!
The tower 28 IS AN SPF, not a tinted moisturizer. And it should be re-applied after 2hrs or spf should be reapplied another way. It won’t have a super long wear time bc it’s a TINTED SPF, not a tinted moisturizer.
I wear a separate spf underneath, so for me the T28 is a tinted moisturizer!
😘🍄
What be live one like she he come city like miss wish live out sky up ...
Hi
Lame
You say “ um “ way to much
😅😂😂Going minimal would be one mascara and one eye shadow. You just cleaned. That is NOT minimal.
