Normal is overrated. If you want 5, 10 or 20 of some products, that's up to you. If you enjoy it and it's not overwhelming, you can have as many or as few products as you are comfortable with.
I love the size of your collection. You have enough to have options but not so much that if you decided to rotate through using everything, it wouldn’t take you a year (or two) to do so. Something flipped with me recently and I just don’t want a ton of makeup, so I loooove seeing collections that feel reasonable (to me.) Huge collections, even on video, cause me so much anxiety. 😅
I have some tips to declutter better because I was in the same boat before. 1)If you wouldn’t repurchase it, get rid of it. Sometimes we want to keep the item because we feel bad about how much money we spent on it and feel like we should get our money’s worth. 2) If it’s a “maybe”, it’s probably a “no”. Only keep things that you KNOW you love. 3) Try not to keep the “what if I need it for this occasion” makeup. Once that event is scheduled, if you need something outside of your collection, purchase it then. 4) If it’s older than 6-12 months (there is a little jar/container icon on each product that says how long it should be kept after opening), please throw it out. I saw you mentioned some products that were TWO years old and barely touched. The bacteria grows and the preservatives in the makeup wear out so it is very unsafe for your skin/eyes. Even if you don’t have breakouts, your skin will be much healthier using newer products. 5) If you have an alternative, keep the best one. With a smaller collection, you will be able to use up more products and know what you have. It also saves you money. Obviously it is definitely 100% your choice. The only one I would be adamant about is tip #4! Please throw away eyeshadows that are older than a year. (Powder you may get away with a bit but you don’t want anything expired near your eyes. It’s not worth your vision.) The good thing is you have everything contained so you know if it doesn’t fit in your storage container, it’s time to decluttered again (:
Question: how do you deal with "1" feeling bad I spent the money and throwing it away? thats where im at, I keep thinking Ill use it at some point (to get my money worth I guess ) but that never happens I dont like the shade etc ... any tips?
@@silalily6961 There are multiple things you can do. You can try and sell the item, you can repurpose the item (use it for something else or relocate it elsewhere), if you don’t like the color you can spray paint it or use contact paper. Decorate it with vinyl decals or stickers if applicable. You can tell yourself "I will replace this with something else only if I get rid of it" if it’s something you really don’t want. You can donate the item and feel good about someone else using it whether it’s to a thrift store, friend, or homeless person/shelter. In the end, the money isn’t worth your peace if this item is causing clutter or anxiety. No matter what, that money is gone. If you paid even $500 for something, and never used it, you’ll only be holding on to it and constantly dreading the money you spent. Out of sight, out of mind. If you did use it however, you can tell yourself it served its purpose and got 10, 20, 30 uses out of it. I don’t know the specific item but if you don’t mind sharing, I can give you ideas on what you can do with the item in question.
Lol no. The container on the back of products stands for period after opening. Meaning the formula may not be the same as it was in the first year. It DOES not mean it's expired. That's a lie that brands have told consumers so that they can create fast makeup and a wasteful society. It is NOT true.
This is such fantastic advice!! Thank you so much for sharing 🙏💝 I have only 23 items in my entire makeup collection and yet I am still a little overwhelmed by it, and find there are multiple items I don’t use (some eyeshadow colours and some lip colours). I tend to go for the same look and just change up the lip colour according to my mood and the colours I’m wearing. Yet throwing away great quality products is so disheartening!! For me, it’s not about the money. It’s that it seems like such a waste. What I have is all the same brand, which is liquid that dries down to a smudge proof, kissproof finish (all products, including foundation, highlighter and eyeshadows). Meaning it’s a little harder to give away as most people aren’t familiar with how to use them and don’t want the learning curve. The idea of not repurchasing once finished is a good one. I wouldn’t repurchase those colours I never reach for. Which accounts for about six of my products! Given that most of them either have glitter in them (like three eyeshadows, so can’t be repurposed for brows or contour), or too much pigment (lip colours, which are then too bright as blush), I’m at a bit of a loss as to whether to keep them or discard them. They are all so beautiful in their own right, just not the right colours for me. 😓💖
@@silalily6961 I myself ruin the item I want to throw out but feel like I'll need it, you can give it to someone if they're okay with the item. There's loads of things you can do, i know destroying the item isn't the best but welll....
Love these type of videos. I like to see what people have for makeup and what they love to use. It is always so hard to declutter especially us smaller channels. Love your makeup. Have a great weekend. 🤗❤️🥰
Love your declutters! I saw your reel about the CT Pinkgasm blush being really hard to squeeze out. Maybe you already knew this, but If you twist the top in unlocks to squeeze easily, and you can also lock it back so no product escapes
I don't know if this seems random but I love the vibe of your videos! Your voice and energy that you put off seems very genuine and relaxing, it's a great change from hearing the same fake youtuber voice all the time :))
yep, I said at the beginning that it is a second go through from my first declutter :) my collection didn't change much since then so of course I am going through the same products, just getting rid of a few extra. there is only one product I put back into my collection from my last video, which I mentioned.
Your video showed up and I had to watch it. I actually love it 😍 I love for declutter videos! I need to do the same because I own too many ColourPop eyeshadow palettes. I have over 76 of them and I don't use many
Glossier stretch concealer going strong I see! Can’t decide between that one and the NARS soft matte just for the inner corner of the eye. Any thoughts?

totally agree and thank you for saying that! I don't love having a super big collection myself, but still am happy and okay not being super minimal

Thank you! That is my exact goal for my collection. I want options but not to be overwhelmed

What you do here is almost same as what you did last time?😅

I had it unlocked the first time, I think it just took a while to get all of the air out. It is way easier now!
yesss i love declutter videos 😍 theyre so satisfying
thank you!! they are my favorite to watch for sure

I love watching declutters, but I'm not ready to do one. Lol. New sub here!
It’s kinda deja vu 🤔 I think I see a lot of products being declutter all over again… apart of this that would be a great video

i’m obsessed with your collection. love how curated it is!
What do you think about the Nars powder? I can see it's well loved and I want to find a powder that doesn't make the skin look cakey.
Curious where did you get your acrylic drawers? Btw your collection is beautiful!!🥰
Love these kinds of videos!
thank you!

I love your declutters! I’m a new a subscriber and declutter videos are my fave :)
Hi! what storage bin is that? I love it :)
What do you use to apply the CT cream bronzer? It looks so patchy on me :/
I use the elf stipple brush (the one with the clear handle) but I have seen a lot of people love it with a more dense brush
Hi! I'm wanting to share my love of makeup online like you, I was just wondering, how do you get pr?
