I'm at work right now, but stopped everything to watch this one since I knew it has baby goats and other cute animals! 😍 Seriously, this is an amazing video which literally made my day! 😁
@@AlinaMcleod And the kitties! I remember your childhood farm when you visited with the pup. I lived on farms. We had wild cats and kittens. Reminiscent of when I was really young. No dog, though. Cats, cow, horse, rabbits, chickens. We lived like these farm folk you visited.
My wife and I visited this lovely property in 2017. It was great to watch this video and experience the beauty and charm of Vazgen’s property all over again. Thanks for sharing!
A fabulous and respectful expose of farm life in Armenia. The landscape is very similar to where both sets of my grandparents homesteaded in southern Saskatchewan after leaving eastern Europe in the early 1900s.
Same here. In my first 5 years in eastern Washington, we had so many different animals. Didn't have the vast space shown in the video. But it was often packed with animals.
Before this, all I saw was what cities looked like in Armenia. I had an acquaintance at the time who was Armenian, so I wanted to see things like the Armenian apostolic church. Talked to her about what I was seeing. Only now understand what rural areas are like.
Hi Alina This tour of the countryside is amazing. Its nice to see the rural aspect of region and see how people outside of the cities live. Love seeing your videos from Armenia. Stay safe...
Alina, if you like nature, I believe Nairian Cosmetics had a botanical garden. The content creator Roffi Petrossian was a consultant on the garden as he has a degree in that field. I don’t know if they give tours but it is worth looking them up for more content.
It's not a Turkish cat, it's an Armenian cat from lake Van. Turks were nomads, they migrated to Anatolia from Central Asia. The area of lake Van was inhabited by Armenians for many thousand years.
Hi Alina! I enjoyed this video! I can relate to simple farm life in northern Armenia, albeit from a similar Lithuanian context. Farming can be a hard life, but there is also simple beauty as well as beauty in natural simplicity. For me, it has also been a journey of discovery to connect with the land and the people where my father and mother, respectively, grew up. And this journey of discovery and learning continues with each visit to our family homesteads in rural Lithuania. Nearly all of my cousins in Lithuania have transitioned from farm life to urban or town life - beginning in Soviet times, but accelerated in post-Soviet time, especially after the passing of our parents’ generation (my uncles and aunts). Sadly, moving forward into the near future, my family will have little or no legacy on the farms and farm villages where they and our ancestors have lived, farmed, and survived for centuries.
Yes, farming communities are becoming smaller and smaller in each place. It's a difficult business to run in and of itself, but the risk has become much greater for most people than having a regular job so to say. Hopefully some semblance can still be retained for future generations.
@@AlinaMcleod This is a universal story. it seems that farmers everywhere are selectively older, and traditional farm communities are becoming smaller and declining in number. Children of farmers are increasingly becoming urban dwellers - for better economic and working opportunities and a more comfortable life.
Alina...the local farm was incredible. Loved the animals & the beautiful Armenian people. Mrs. Irina knows love is the language animals understand & respond to, just like humans. Very relaxing & peaceful lifestyle. Careful with the bugs, they are vectors of diseases. Thank you for the heart warming & touching video.
The terrain and the landscape remind me a lot of what you showed us in Bulgaria and North Macedonia, but quite a bit less developed. Armenia looks beautiful!
It does look similar, but we still have trees in the Balkans. But I'm not sure is less developed, this farm looked well. I think familly farms, not a company's one aren't better looking than this one.
Hi Alina, good thing caught you now, wasn't able to get signal of the previous Lake episode. We have two typhoons right now, it's raining for almost two weeks now.
I like how all the animals were so friendly. Even the cow came when she called. Irina must be a very good and kind person, all the animals adored her. Never knew the countryside of Armenia was so green! Awesome video. Although I like seeing the cities, I really appreciate seeing the countryside. Thank you for taking us along, Alina.
wow! raising and training all animals with love instead of cruelty. nice 👌 Cats! so many fluffy cats. (cats that like water?, good. problem of bathing a cat solved)
Barev, Alina, super to see more around you´re adventures in Armenia. I like these countryside style and the animals. Well done work. More please, you know. Stay safe and healthy, always.
Irina wasn't so attractive, but she was absolutely ADORABLE. I could almost "see" her good soul, which radiated love for her animals and for her life on this earth. Thanks Alina.
Those were not Van cats i think. Van cats have different eyes, blue and green. And also the areas near the lake Van were almost always populated by Armenians (before the 1915 genocide of course) and so the Van cats used to be a some kind of armenian heritage (sadly not anymore because it is prohibited by the law to export those cats). And the last thing I wanted to share with you is that Gyumri was one of the first layovers for those who were fleeing Turkey. Even my grandparents stopped there and then moved to Aparan
Hi Alina! Whose the friend on your right shoulder at 5:03? So natural! Love those farm animals! Sure these things are familiar deeply embedded in your heart, being from a farming locale yourself. Animals just know who loves them! Amazed by you!

Yes I agree with you Alina! It was a wonderful treat to see that wonderful ladie's farm and her adorable animals! It sure is pretty out in the Armenian countryside, but I am sure its a lot of work to maintain that farm and all those animals. They are Van cats. Some had blue eyes, some amber and some a mix of both. They fit the exact descriptions of what Van cats are.
