We haven’t even attempted to cut our grass here in northeast Texas. Our grass is dead and crunchy. I can’t even walk around without getting little broken pieces on my socks that stick like needles. Nothing is growing but we do have a bit of long sparse areas. We are concerned we may hit a stone and ignite a fire so we are waiting on the rains to come and not worrying about it! Love you all! 🙏❤️
@@tambrasmith4199 Praying we get rain soon! I saw a video the other day of how to get a plate of sorts and place little pebbles on it spread a bit and have water on the plate, so the bees have a place to drink water and stand on the pebbles when they are drinking. Even the insects are suffering.
I know how you feel, Danny. I just had to sell all five of my Nubian milk goats after one of them, while trying to keep me from isolating her in a small pen, jumped into me. She knocked me up into the air, and I came down flat on my back. My spine was fractured and I had to undergo a surgery called a Kryoplasty. Healing well now but very slowly. By the way, I am 86 years old.
My husband was a volunteer firemen for over 20 years. I don't know how many barn fires he had to go to because of the very thing that you're talking about. We will often find our barn cats sleeping on compost piles because it's warm in the morning
Good afternoon Mr. Danny and Ms. Wanda think the last rain we had was Francine down here in South Louisiana. We are dry as a bone with no real rain forecast. Enjoy watching the cub work. Hilled our field for the first time with the cub we purchased here Sunday and wow what a time saver that is. Used to do it by hand with a hoe and it literally took me all day now about 10 minutes . My wife said paid for itself already I was like good then I can buy some more parts 😂. Become difficult for our neighbors again this year to keep the livestock fed in the fields with this lack of rain. Thank y'all for sharing and have a blessed day.
It’s dry as a bone in Texas too … I can’t hoe anymore , I have to use the tiller that I bought for the tractor if I want to plant peas, corn or melons anymore… I’m making more raised beds, in a partially finished high tunnel …. It’s way easier for me… and I can still feed myself
@@tambrasmith4199 is there anyone that can help y'all finish the high tunnel? Praying for some rain. That Cub is a blessing. Was extremely blessed to come across one that was inexpensive and needed work. Pray y'all are well.
I got a 1960 model Gravley lawnmower that has a sickle mower on the front. Me and my dad rebuilt the engine in the mid 70’s. Only use it for clearing a path to the pond at my camp, which I go to 4 or 5 times a year.
Their master is calling them, look how they run to you! I never thought cows would come when called….im a city girl and I’ve learned so much from you! I love cows ❤
It is dry, even though we’ve had a small amount of rain. We’re getting fires where I live with the farmers getting their crops in. I wish I had green grass mines dead. The only reason I’m mowing is to mulch my leaves which I have a ton. Always enjoy your videos. God bless you and Wanda.
For the mower arm tip rods to turn the hay you might see if hardware store fiberglass driveway snow marker poles will clamp in there. They'd last and no rusting.
Amazing how long these droughts hang on. Its just the opposite where I live we get so much rain moss and mold grow everywhere and the plants have a hard time with it.
I sold all but 3 of my cows , about a month ago … I need a water well and cows are bringing good money right now… estimate on water well was $23,000, and I had already bought a solar well pump.. I hope the water well man gets to it before something bad happens..I bought 18 big round bales and have 3 cows & a horse to feed this winter . It looks like I’m gonna have to start feeding them soon.
Loved this video! That Cub is a blessing & it is beautiful! We have a cub & super A's on our farm. I hope to someday fix them up nice & be able to keep them clean. You have done a really good job on yours & you take great care of it.

We’re in the same situation with our goats and sheep. We have 2 ewes and a ram, 2 billys and a female. We’ll eventually take it down to just sheep, but it’s important that if/when the goats go, they go to a good home. Shalom
Danny you’re having the same weather problems we’re having in Texas. I’m sick of this hot dry weather. We’ve had one mild cold front that moved through with zero rain about two weeks ago but that’s it. The temp still got up in the 80’s. It’s been in the 90 degree range here also. I haven’t seen any deer nor any coming to my feeder only a few hogs. Usually by now I would have some deer coming around.
We've been going through a massive drought too, one decent rain since June(that was Helene). I sold a bunch of goats going from 8 to now 3. Really soon I'll be processing about 20 ducks, 3 rabbits and 5 chickens. Winter is going to be tough this year. Obtw, do you watch True Grit Homestead, he has an old Farm All and showed plowing and discing today with it.
I know I wouldn’t want to try to figure out how many times He has provided a temporary impediment to provide a longer term benefit. Both of us have lived with many of them. I can see a point of the pattern which He designed and wove. HE has a complete view of everything; I have a point of view.
Good morning, decent amount of hay with the drought. Yea, hay, heat and green can produce quite the fire, but you are on top of it. Both take care of prayers
If I were mowing grass to pick up I would use my rotary mower and mow in a circle to get make a pile of grass that could be picked up without the extra step.
When I first saw you cutting the grass I thought why didn't you just put the cows in on it? I didn't know it wasn't fenced. But what went through my mind was dang, how much gas and time you were spending doing that. It's not always what you know; sometimes it's what you don't know that's important.

Could you pick the grass/hay up in your toro lawn mower with the grass catcher?
