I'm waiting for the CAT suppressor as well, for both the MR 556 and MR 762. I was going to go with the Huxwrx until I heard about the CAT ones and they seem to be better in most regards, other than the Huxwrx I heard beats it out in actual flow through by a slight amount.
clean setup, good job. I would have gone with the HKEY handguard. Not only for the German connection but also the unique looks. You can mount the laser on top and the flashlight on the side, mounted on a forward light mount. I did that on my SIG552 (which got limited rail space) and plan to do that on my HK build as well
Thanks! I was considering doing a top-mounted laser such as a DBAL as that could mount directly into the Fusion mount I'm using for my light, I've just heard so many mixed reviews on the DBAL I've been leery of going that route.
@@Feldmutze also based on some of the photos of the 416a7 seems like They are putting picatinny up front, so this might achieve the clone look. Not 100% but close ish.
Yes, I'm using one of the older S&B ShortDots (FFP, 1.5-8x) and I think it's great. It has the best glass quality I've used on any scope and tracks perfectly, but they're also one of the heavier options for LPVOs and, despite the name, are quite long and take up a lot of rail space.
In my hk223a1 (europe) i bought a midwest mlock handguard….fantastic product buy thete is a big issue after some shots slip forward and back for 2millimeters…do your ever listen some problems about compatibility?…..ps your mr: top👍
I've ran into that with looser-fitting handguards on two of my rifles where the handguard will move slightly forward after firing but then it settles there. So long as the handguard isn't constantly wiggling back and forth on you, it is not an issue. Otherwise, I'd recommend letting your handguard "settle" into that slightly more forward position after firing and torque it.
Thanks! Yeah the regular handguards are quite well put together. If those work for you, the only real benefit I can see that you'd get from the SDMR or HKey handguard is they do have a captive bolt which is nice, but fairly minor overall. I would recommend Frontier Armory if you're looking for a long HKey MR223 handguard, it's where I picked mine up. They're not in stock currently but they do have plans to get more in, and they have very reasonable price (assuming it doesn't go up on the next restock) too.
Thank you! I think the HKey handguards look nice but I agree completely that they offer far less utility than most other (possibly all) other handguard options.
Agreed. Those new HK M-LOK handguards look really interesting and I want to try one of those out. From what I've heard they're on a pretty long backorder even in Europe so it'll be a long time before we see any here in the US.
I like your black HK MR556 more. Something about it makes me like it more. But I love that Keymod FDE handguard. That bad boy is noice!!! If you ever want to sale that thing, let me know. I know keymod is out but that thing is beautiful. I have the Geissele SMR Rail but I didnt like it as much a I hoped. I now run the Strike Industries HK416 Duty Gridlok Quick Detach Handguard. I have it sitting on a Radian ADAC lower receiver. Most people bad mouth Strike Industries but the handguard works and has maintained my peq15's zero. I had the handguard cerakoted in Smoke Bronze and HK logo engraved. I also cerakoted the hollowed out/ skeletonized Mlok Rails and a Strike Industries Mlok angled grip. Surefire M640DF Light FDE. Surefire Closed Tine flash hider. SLR Smoke Bronze Buffer Tube. B5 Systems Stock FDE. Hogue Grip FDE. Im going to have the engravings on the ADAC lower colored in Smoke Bronze. And I'm having the ambidextrous bolt catch/release, ambidextrous safety, takedown pins and ambidextrous magazine release cerakoted Smoke Bronze.
I get what you mean. I'm personally quite partial to FDE/RAL8000 rifles but the all-black MR556 has a certain allure to it for sure. Although I'm not using my HKey (actually not compatible with Keymod, interestingly) handguard I'll probably be keeping it to use occasionally or put on a future build. That sounds like a nice build you have. Also I'm glad you mentioned the Strike Industries handguard is QD, I never knew that before as I hadn't looked into their handguard before, but that is a really good feature. I usually dismiss a lot of SI's stuff as I've had mixed results in the past, but their 416 handguard sounds like it might actually be pretty nice.
Beautiful build brother!
ADM makes great lowers, it looks pretty cool.
You used an ak 74 and now a Hk mr556 for home defense. We should be best friends.
I used a Brownels HK upper recently, it had a vented gas block/huxwork flow556k, and it had a pretty abrupt recoil impulse compared to DI.
I noticed that with my MR556 when I first shot it too. It has a little bit sharper recoil than a comparable DI gun would have.

@@Feldmutze PEQ-15 is the way. Just sent you an email with more info
After going to Quiet in the Capitol hosted by Capitol Armory, I would highly recommend the C.A.T cans over the hux. great build.
I have that HKey handguard as well. I used some Geissele SMR mk1 rail attachments sections. Not exactly perfect but works for a weapon light.
Oh nice, I hadn't thought of doing that but that sounds like good idea.

Love your builds, very nice taste. Also is that a S&B short dot on your second build? What are your thoughts on it so far?

There's just something about RAL 8000 that I like. Is it good camo? No, but it's like the yellow you occasionally see in camo.
honestly didnt realize it was an ambi lower and not an hk at first, thought it was the HK ambi lower
I always thought the ADM4 ambi lower was relatively close visually to the HK A5 lowers too, but I've had a few commenters lose their shit over it lol.
Awsome ass build what pistol grip is that?
HK adaptive grip
are you using 3x or 5x magnifier?
I'm using a 3x EOTech G33 magnifier.
I keep thinking about swapping my MR762 handguard and then I realize I have no rational reason to do so! Anyway, great video.
Also, if anyone knows where to get a long HKey guard I would love to get one for my mr223

@@Feldmutze awesome tip!
these things come in 14.5?
Straight from HK, no, but Nefarious Arms and Faxon both make HK416-compatible barrels in 14.5".
It’s a beauty.
Controversial opinion : I think that the hkey hand guards are ugly and lack utility.

What specific parts do you have?
