What sucks about playing the squash is that you have to replace it every few weeks.
Agreed its a great instrument but the maintenance is a lot
I believe there are some species of squash that won't entirely decompose and leave the hard shell intact, in fact I think people even use them as instruments.

It will enable the sweetest taste of the vegtables when you put your mouth on it.
That's actually good question. Fruit usually rots after being left out for a week, and if it has holes in it it would definitely rot quicker and the rotting could change the size of the holes, changing the tune and therefore, not being able to play the song you specifically made them in the shape for.
Anyway... how was your day?
Yes the age does matter because the size will modify sound, it's just like brass instruments, something smaller makes higher pitch noises, while longer ones make deeper noises
