@@temporaryvr An important part of telling a good joke is to eliminate all sources of inconsistencies so that the audience aren't distracted from the punchline. Next time WildHogTV tells this joke, or anyone else for that matter, they can deliver it even better.
They did twice, the first time being with Mario Paint way back when. It was so successful that Mario Paint is more known for being a music format than it was for being an early digital art tool.
They actually did intend for the ocarina to be a functional instrument, you'd have to look up the controls but you could do sharps/flats and slides on the n64 oot as well.
@@flyingsky1559 The Nintendo Power Player's Guide for Ocarina of Time supplied the notes to play for, I think it was, Kakariko Town in it. So whoever owns that guide, like myself, never had to look that up to know all the notes that are able to be played. It was quite nice actually.
This feature was very unnecessary, not many people really know about it, and it opened a whole new world for music covers. But there were little to no people back in the day doing it. Thank you for giving us this cover!
@@HandjobHandsomeYeah, sure, that's what I meant. Because I have no idea what Zelda is. And I never found this video, because I don't watch Zelda content regularly or something. I meant a special feature that was included for the ocarina in the 3DS version. When you push the arrows up or down on the 3DS while playing, you can alter the notes you are playing. This is why this video is possible in the first place. Otherwise you would only have 5 different notes to play. Which, if you haven't noticed, are necessary to play Africa.

@@TheLonelyGoomba It was a weird comment because you commented on it's potential to go viral rather than it's actual quality. Very weird, very strange.
I can't imagine how much work got put into even putting this together, never mind figuring all of the notes and how to layer them for this set-up. That was just super cool! Anytime I hear someone doing a unique twist on this song is always a plus in my book
Not to be a dick, this video is amazing and I loved it, but it shouldn't compare to the amount of work that goes into other musical projects even here on UA-cam. Basically it comes down to the fact that this concept allows for the parts to be put in a "raw" format. No mixing/mastering required. This means that the amount of editing can be kept at minimun. Don't get me wrong, It's still some good amount of work but nothing compared to other projects.
@@revonfyll I'm pretty sure you're underestimating the amount of work involved here. They also did something to ensure the background "nature" noises synced up. I don't have the game so I don't know if those can be turned off in game or not. Either way, a project like this is a lot of work. I'm curious what videos you're watching that are so much more work they make this look minor in comparison.
@@DizzyDiddy Playing a musical instrument and putting out a musical project involves exactly what is shown on this video plus 100 times more work. For example the covers of insaneintherainmusic, poopoopfart, smoothmcgroove (and many more channels). Understanding a piece, arranging it for other genres and instruments, getting to know how to play and recording each instrument (which is a much more sophisticated process), mixing and mastering the tracks inside a daw and THEN the video editing. I'm not saying this video doesn't have work put into it, but it doesn't compare to the work that others put into their craft. Also there is a guitarist called Bradley Hall who arranged and put a cover on the electric guitar of the ENTIRE first LotR movie. It's pretty amazing, it's on his channel a 3 hour video.
Man honestly shit like this is what makes youtube so great its just pure passion and care that you don't get from most TV networks or companies and just this one video truly shows how there still to this day is passionate people still making things amazing work
I don't wanna say that It's not impressive, I don't even wanna know how often they fucked up and had to start over, but the part you described is rather easy (at least easier than the performing part). I don’t think Nintendo intended to invent a completely new instrument, but I’m glad they did
They did twice, the first time being with Mario Paint way back when. It was so successful that Mario Paint is more known for being a music format than it was for being an early digital art tool.
They actually did intend for the ocarina to be a functional instrument, you'd have to look up the controls but you could do sharps/flats and slides on the n64 oot as well.
Years later we can use Stakes in Tears of the Kingdom with pitch correlating to height
You should see the mario paint version of Africa since you brought it up. It is legendary. Someone went absolutely insane with it.
This feature was very unnecessary, not many people really know about it, and it opened a whole new world for music covers. But there were little to no people back in the day doing it. Thank you for giving us this cover!
Actually the ocarina is a vital part of the game an is literally needed to progress. Erm looks like someone was just caught in a weenie bit of a lie…
@@HandjobHandsome they mean the pitch bending and modulation you can do while playing the ocarina
@@HandjobHandsome I think they mean the feature where you can adjust the pitch using the joystick
@@lykanaslupus To just inform you, that feature was in the main game too on Nintendo 64. I Remember doing that back then.
I love how it has it’s own sound too. I can tell it’s Africa but it’s so unique at the same time

I want to make a joke about Majora's mask being about time but my brain is fried watching this masterpiece
My favorite part of every "Groundhog Day Episode" in TV shows is the bit when it shows them spending an absurd amount of days practicing something pointless to become masters of it for no reason (like Teal'c and O'Neil learning to juggle in Stargate SG-1).

Music books and the internet...🤔
