7:08 remember when James tried to teach Kirk that some kind of monster riff and Kirk couldn´t do it? That´s because you have to talk to him in wah language
James: Writes the riff Lars: Sets up song structure Kirk: Only goes into the studio when he needs to do a solo with 3 wa pedals Rob: Kinda just sits there
7:25 I love it when 2 non guitar players try to explain what they want you to play while moving their fingers in odd, other-worldly motions that are impossible and they expect you to play what they're playing in the air.
But that made that solo better...? I mean, their expressions and fingers were weird, but they had a great idea and had to deliver that somehow to Kirk.
This kinda easter egg,as this song has really notable Iron maiden influences, and the name of this making stands for New Wave Of British Heavy Metal At The Moment,so thats a nice reference
Lars should definitely consider a side gig as an arranger. As a musician myself, I'd love to be around someone with even half of his vision and passion for music
Chesty McStudmuffin only thing that sucked about st. Anger were the snare and the production. Sure it wasnt very metallica sounding but good nonetheless
Helm of the Anti-lemon I don’t think so, he for the most part does, but watching this I only see Kirk when solo time comes. I feel that Lars and James are pretty obligated to have opinions on his solo.
Atlas, Rise is the best song from hardwired to self destruct for real. In my opinion the most effort is put into this song. Greetings from Croatia and hope you come again!
Jaymz Hetfield and I love the way they trust each other's ideas and input. I can't imagine the day when one isn't around any longer, James or Lars will probably go into a deep depression.
4:57 damn that riff sounds so good live in studio. i rewatched it more than 30 times in one take. haha and I did pretty much the same thing as Rob while he was entering the room - started fucking headbanging!!!
I like how Lars is very involved on all instruments. He has great ideas. He can foresee some riffs and solos. His job is to somehow portray them to his band mates. Blows my mind.
This is so much good for my mental health thanks to share with Us guys and love you so much l am not a musician but this give me a good boost for my days and hope you share more of your studio work. Thank you
Philip McMullin on the record I heard it but thought it was an autotune or harmonizer effect. This just confirmed it was 2 voice dubbed in real time. Fukin awesome!
Lars is a solid drummer, he may not be considered one of the best by alot of people, but i will give it to him, he is a beast on arrangement. He hears it, he thinks it and then bam he already has it, doesnt take long for him. He knows what he wants and how it should sound. That is not easy, he truly has an ear for music. i have loved them since i remember hearing master of the puppets when i was 4, sounds odd, but i remember.
Yep I see why the demo was called NWOBHM. I can hear Iron Maiden influences in the song, mainly that tiny bridge between the second chorus and that main riff that leads into the solo (my 2nd favorite riff off the album btw, right behind the breakdown in Am I Savage?). Very Hallowed Be Thy Name-ish (also my favorite Iron Maiden song like many of you).
The way I see Metallica. Lars is the oldest brother and James is the middle child who fights with Lars all the time , and Kirk is the youngest who everyone loves and Robert is Kirks friend from school who comes over everyday .
вот меня сейчас крепко удивило, что барабанщик рассказывает гитаристу как играть мелодию. теперь мне понятно, что они технари и просто играют музыку, а он является её Творцом
Zoltán Kovács you never sat down with a V nor an Explorer, right? Thats just not how you look like sitting with an Explorer. Oh and the lower fin is nowhere to be seen -> V.
My running theory has always been that the biggest James fan on the planet is Lars. He knows how to suggest, direct, and play with him, a bond that's been there since he hired him years ago. These behind the scenes videos highlight that
Lars could say something like "Play the yatta cha cha bama riff" and James would know exactly what he meant lol, that's what happens when you've been writing together for over 30 years.
My favourite song on the album! It's also great and fun to see the process of making the song. Also Lars looks like two different people clean shaven, and with a beard and glasses, haha.
Blah blah blah something about Lars's drumming and James's vocal range, yadda yadda Jason was better than Rob, blah blah blah Kirk and something about a pedal and forgetting the solos on stage. Did I miss anything? ;)

It's the riff that plays at the en of the chorus

Sounds very Maidenish

Haha I was thinking the same. The whole band has to write the Solo and make him play it 😂
Bass riffs and tone were absolutely awesome for this album. Also many songs have a clearly Rob's influence.
...and Rob is the most talented member of the band by far.

KiLl3R Mem3StAR Yeah ur right but that harmony part after the solo I think has reaally Iron Maiden-y vibes,in my opinion
